Cease To Padres per Passan
What makes people truly think the next owner will be drastically different? How many potential owners are out there that will just spend the team deep into the red for a team that is second string to the Cubs in a town where baseball will always be second th football?

Cease To Padres per Passan
After signing one extension. Buerhle left going into the second extension.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Both danks and buerhle received fair market deals. I think Moncada, jimenez and Robert got deals that were fair to buy out fa years.

Cease To Padres per Passan
I agree they should trade him. With the Boras factor, I wouldn't take a chance on not signing him. My point was that JR has shown loyalty, I know it's a dirty word here, to their own players, including pitchers.

Cease To Padres per Passan
The Sox have signed their own to deals. Guys like buerhle and danks. Up to 4 or 5 years. It's smarter practice as they know all of injury history and the person. Boras is a complicating factor though.

One of the best athletes ever. He could do everything. Golf, bowling, track. Right up there with napo Harris.

Was a patient of mine when he was in high school. He is a Sox fan.

Cease To Padres per Passan
This would work. If they trade Cease they need to get at least one high end pitcher.

Bummer to ATL
It's amazing how many people know the numbers behind the MLB teams when the players union has been trying for decades to get them and haven't been able to.

Pony up!
Now you are just taking it to an absurd extreme. But to answer your question, yes because you can't buy first row, ailse seats for cheap much cheaper than the season tickets especially with the discounted parking. Be as crabby, cranky and pessimistic as you want. You still can't beat a day at the ballpark.

I'll be sitting in section 162 with the same 20 game, enjoying the great game of baseball. I split them so I go to about 10. As someone else said, it goes real nice with the cuban comet sandwich.

Getz speaks at GM meetings...
Moncada will have a good year. It's a contract year. Keep him and trade him at the deadline.

Current Mood
It will be baseball. Always good to enjoy the game.

Fegan writes "coaching changes..."
Sure he does. It sucked. But I was responding to the comment that Grifol is the only one left to blame. Coaches can only do so much. Players need to be talented but they also have to work at what the coaches are asking g them to do. There seems to be more than a few that won't.

Or maybe the players. They may have contributed to the poor season.

TA willing to Move to Second Base
Who can they get that is any good, who will only play SS for 1 year? Montgomery should take the job after next year.

When you play 3 rookies in the secondary, some due to injury and have no pass rush, they most have to play zone.

Is it the scheme or the players in the scheme? In this case I don't think you can solely blame the scheme. It worked pretty well in Indy. Not that he doesn't have fault but it isn't just the coach in isolation. The GM can fire him but he sure didn't really give him much of a chance.

Yeah, but also look what he has to work with. This is one of those situations where the GM knew they were going to tank last year so he can't hold that against the coach. And this year he knew they still weren't going to be good but expects improvements. Poles is going to get a bad rep with coaches when he fires the coach when he told the coach they weren't going to be good.

Luis Robert Jr. will be evaluated Monday in Chicago
That's the typical time frame for a MD MCL sprain. Standard answer.

Yeah, he has to say that for the team. As much as everyone talks about transparency and being honest. This is not the time.

Agreed QB is #1. I was referring to the second first round pick.
