QUOTE(TLAK @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Why is everbody on the White Sox side so nervous? If we were down 2-0 facing Freddy Fu_king Garcia THEN we would have something to be nervous about. Who's nervous? That said, this isn't a cakewalk. These are the defending World Champs.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) I have to BUY to listen to the damn game? Does anyone have a way around this? This is flippin killing me. It's 8 bucks.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) If Boston wins today (*IF*) it's going to a game 5 no doubt in my mind. There's one in mine. I have faith in Jon.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Do they ever call playoff games due to rain after 5 innings? I'm just wondering if it's possible or do they just wait all night until they can play the rest? They will wait all day if it means a team being eliminated.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) no, not at all. Linda Lovelace (Borman was her real last name) was in her 20s and was paid for her work. Later on she claimed she was raped but then recanted. She was kept in a cage for the duration of the filming and was forced to be in the film by her "boyfriend", the director. If that isn't rape, I don't know what is.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 06:31 AM) I live my life under the assumption there is no higher being, and if I'm wrong, surely he'll understand my position. She will.

Howard Stern was right - Bush is taking orders from his imaginary friend, named "God." It's almost unbelievable, but then I think about Bush. It's very believable.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Yes. They are that type of team. If you score more than 4 against them chances our it will be several more than 4. How loose is Ozzie? Ozzie: “I said, ‘Look, I’m going to bring in a 70-year old man (Orlando “El Duque’’ Hernandez) to close the game, and you bring your fat man (Bob Wickman). You got one bigger than mine (Bobby Jenks). Back and forth like that." I read that too about the Choke sign and that Indians game. "70-year-old pitcher"!!!! LOL. Ozzie rules.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Is it me or did the Anaheim crowd not seem very into the game? I was there last nite - We were totally into the game until it was 4-zip and then yes, a little bit of air went out of 5the crowd - this is normal. But in big game situations (Bengie's homer, big strikeous, Erstad's single), we got loud. Maybe the mics were turned down on tv...

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 05:52 AM) Go Figure, Boston is favored to win the game today...NO RESPECT!!! Also lets play a game WIth the Sox playing Game 2 tonight, How many people will show up for the Hawks season opener vs Anaheim??? It won't affect it. Why? 1) It's hockey. 2) It's Blackhawks hockey. 3) see #2 nuff said.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) I think that if the White Sox win tonite, Schilling starts game three. I think you're right. Ol' Bloody Sock is the saviour, is he not?

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 07:44 AM) I think you are completely dissing the momentum shift if they were to win today. They have Wakefield vs Garcia in Boston & Schilling vs Garland in Boston. Their starters only need to pitch as good as 7IP/4R for Boston to have a chance to win the next 3. Our starters need to pitch as good as 7IP/3R. On the flip side if we win today .. that kind of momentum behind Garcia & this club is very capable of producing a sweep against Wakefield. Are you saying if we score more than 4 runs, we have a significant chance of winning each game? Is that the new "magic number"??

QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) Don't know if this was posted or not, but Gammons actually picked our White Sox over his beloved Red Sox in 5. That was on espn.com. On the Dan Patrick Show, he picked the Red Sox. What a bastard.

Buehrle & Garcia must give us quality starts.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) That's a bit of a drive for me but I'll see what I can pull off. Keep me posted. Are any of you going to ALDS games in Anaheim? I've got a very good feeling that the east coast will not be getting the expected rematch of last year's ALCS. I think the Sox and Angels will do battle. I'm going to Tues' Angels/Yanks game - that's why I'll be there in Anaheim, but we should make an outing on the weekends too. Burbank is closer to my house tho - will you guys be there on Sat?
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) 3 will be at the same time.... 4&5 will be TBD even with the location change for 3?
-
any word on when games 3. 4. & 5 will be?
-
I'm planning on watching game 1 at the ESPN Zone in Anaheim if anyone wants to join me.
-
anyone SoCal types for getting together on Sat or Sun somewhere for the games?

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) No, NY would only take the AL East if Cleveland loses tomorrow in addition to today, with Boston getting the WC. -- A win today guaranteed them nothing worse than a playoff. Even with a loss today, Cleveland is only 1 game out of a WC, and if they were to win tomorrow. ---- Anouncers are convinced it's Buehrle/Garcia in game 1-2... I love having the ace in the hole. I know. I was listening to talk radio the other day and they were talking about how ineffective the WHOLE sox pitching staff was in the 2nd half. It's like, because of his NY stint, no one knows Contreras is plain dealing now. Their loss. -

I think the #1 great thing about today and yesterday's game, regardless of outcome, is that Buehrle & Garland have held a very-good Indians team to 1 ER. This is playoff atmosphere, and they are ready. That makes me very happy. Buehrle in game 2 Garland in game 4 wooooooo!! -

In this corner... the Cleveland Indians In this corner... the Charlotte Knights!!!! I love this lineup! -
Yeah, I think Blum, Harris, & Perez are givens. Ozzie doesn't like Gload (for some dumb reason.) I think we should get both El Duque & McCarthy in the pen before Vizcaino, but Ozzie's been weird (& infuriating) about his loyalties to some players.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) I'd like to see the reserves, but I don't want complete reserves. I don't want to have a lineup of: C-Raul Casanova 1B-Ross Gload 2B-Willie Harris 3B-Pablo Ozuna SS-Geoff Blum RF-Brian Anderson CF-Timo Perez LF- Joe Borchard DH - Chris Widger I'll puke if I see more than 3 of those guys starting in any of the games this weekend. Angels did this last night - it was hilarious. We should do it for saturday - let the regulars sleep in.
