QUOTE(G&T @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) I, for one, refuse to click that link and give that asshat the satisfaction. Ditto. -
There is nothing to stop these athletes from being critical of China after the games. Win the gold, come home, get interviewed and speak your mind.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 06:08 PM) I actually doubt this I'd bet Schuler has, though.

This kind of puts Ozzie's "tinkering with the lineup" into perspective.

I desperately miss the Italian beef-sausage combos they sell all over the Chicago area.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) You should be in hog heaven now then, because all of these candidates certainly do have issues.

Everything said by a GOP'er against a Dem is a cheap shot. Everything said by a Dem against a GOP'er is a cheap shot. It depends what side of the fence you happen to be standing on. Pure rhetoric. Both sides are guilty.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:33 PM) No one claimed that Obama made it up but he's been using it as a slogan since last February when he announced his candidacy. She started using it when her polls were slipping and Obama's were starting to rise. So let me get this straight. You would consider not voting for Obama because of some random guy on a White Sox message board? Great rationale I must say. EDIT: I have a feeling you might react like me if all of a sudden Barack or Hillary started campaigning in a shuttle bus with the words "Straight Talk Express" on the side of the bus. You keep posting all this anti-Hillary stuff for what purpose? Is it to try and convince people to to vote for Barack? Like I'm supposed to be influenced by some guy on a White Sox message board. Edit: to fix typo

QUOTE(StatManDu @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 11:14 AM) THIS DATE IN WHITE SOX HISTORY: FEBRUARY 8TH For more see, www.whitesoxalmanac.com EL CABALLO IN THE STABLE 1994: The White Sox signed 17-year old Panamanian Carlos Lee as a free agent. White Sox Panamanian and Central American scout Miguel Ibarra recommended and signed Lee and it turned out to be a great move. While he struggled to find a position, Lee’s offensive numbers in the minors were so good that his defensive deficiencieswere overlooked. Lee served notice from the beginning of his big league career that he would be an offensive force. On May 7, 1999, Lee became the first player in White Sox history to homer in his first big league at bat when he victimized Oakland’s Tom Candiotti at Comiskey Park. Lee was an staple in the Sox lineup through the 2004 season, hitting 152 home runs. That total ranked ninth in Sox annals when he was dealt to Milwaukee on Dec. 14, 2004 for outfielder Scott Podsednik and pitcher Luis Vizcaino. It was that trade that played a major role in the White Sox winning the 2005 World Series. Are you sure about Lee being the first to homer in his first ML at bat? I seem to rememeber a catcher named Bob Christian or something that did it before Carlos.

Huckabee has absolutely no chance of securing the nomination.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) Here's the problem. under ANY other administration in the past I would have said this was over-hype. under this administration, it's par for the course. Heck, probably birdie for the course. We the people distrust this administration so much that this is entirely plausible. I can't disagree with you.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) Because the private sector makes decisions to deny treatment based on the bottom line and not medical opinion. That's just the nature of the beast. And, clearly, something has to be done. Costs are going through the roof. Th government already pays almost half of all medical costs. The government already pays half the costs. That's the problem in a nutshell. The government can set rules to insure the private sector provides adequate health care for all, but the private sector needs to be the driving force. There is nothing more inefficient than a government run institution.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:18 PM) She already has her grove on: Clap Clap Point Point I stand corrected.

I've had my say. I'm not going to get into it with you guys.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) Rasmussen Reports: Obama and Clintons tied at 44% Interesting Point: I have long said, "If you aren't for Hillary, you are against her". Well, look at the stats. She has been consistently 35-45%. However, Obama has been in the mid to high 20s. Over the past 2 months, Obama has been pulling MANY of the undecideds and other candidates. He has jumped to 44%. Where is Hillary? Still where she was 3 months ago. Yes, it's looking better for Obama every day. Hillary's gotta get her groove on.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 01:05 PM) Supporting your candidate is great. Sharing about how awesome they are might win your candidate a few more votes. Ruthlessly trashing your candidate's opponent is not great. Ruthlessly trashing people who disagree with your viewpoint is not great. It doesn't win your candidate friends at all, instead it just makes them less likely to even give your candidate a second look. It's wonderful to see so much passion here. It's a shame to see it used in such a poor misdirected manner at times. Thanks, Rex. *Pinned because I can, and because it's starting to be an issue here.* You, of all people, taking the high road about not ruthlessly trashing somebody. You've been spitting venom for years about the current administration. Not without due cause, mind you. But, this is a bit on the hypocritical side.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) Unless they want another 1964. There's a sense among a lot of Conservatives that the party needs another Goldwater moment. We certainly don't need another Ford - Dole type moment, which is what I'm afraid will happen with McCain.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) Do you think they may be considering what is best for their careers The horrors! See what Hillary started It's Hillary's fault. That explains everything.
-
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) Don't write off Huck yet. The conservatives now have one candidate to work with instead of two. Good point, but he'd need Romney to support him. On one hand, I can see Romney doing what is best for the conservative movement by endorsing Huckabee. On the other, I can't see him doing so when Huckabee wouldn't step aside for him as the conservative frontrunner. Will be interesting.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) Yeah, he was obviously targeting any and all forms of evangelical conservatives that would listen in that speech, almost to the point of going overboard. Problem is, if he runs again, Mike Huckabee will still very possibly be there, and he's going to beat a mormon for the evangelical vote every time. That will be a distinct advantage for Huckabee, that's for certain.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) This may be the first time my GOP pick actually received the nomination. Which speaks volumes!
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:11 PM) And was completely inaccurate. And YASNY, your correct it's irreelvant what he said since he's not the nominee, but it was still very strange and Democrats will remember this speech if he runs again in 2012, which I think he will. I don't think he's too worried about what the Dems will remember. It's what the GOP will remember that's important.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) He gave Democrats enough fuel to power a 747 for a year with all the bizarre stuff he said. But he won't be the candidate. Irrelevent.
