  1. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) Hello everyone! I am out stumping for votes for my dog, Lilly! She is an 8 year old Beagle that we rescued for a shelter a while back. This once timid and abused dog has grown into a beloved family pet, and has been entered in the Bissel Most Valuable Pet photo contest. Weekly winners get a carpet cleaner and also get entered into the grand prize drawing of $10,000 to our favorite animal charity. My wife and our oldest son volunteer at a local humane society, and they could use the money. If anyone has a spare moment and an email address handy, please consider voting for Lilly. Beagles are a proud breed, especially after taking Best In Show this year at Westmister! Thanks for looking. Frank http://tinyurl.com/yuso35 Since you are a good conservative, your wife and son are volunteering at the humane society and the fact that I think beagles are cool ... you have recieved my vote. Godd luck.
  2. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) I meant to point that out as well. I would feel LESS safe if I knew the 10 people around me at the mall had a gun. What if a couple of those victems at Tinley Park had a gun when that sick mofo was executing one after the other? If I was on my knees with a gun at the back of my head, I would have felt a bit safer, knowing they might get him before he got me.
  3. QUOTE(Reddy @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) dude come on, i know YOU don't believe that s*** but do you really think the Clintons hold those opinions? and on the flaming front - what did you expect? lol I expected exactly what is happening.
  4. I'm just gonna sit here and smile for a while, while you guys flame me. This is just too funny.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) Well, I know YAS doesn't feel that way personally, but his point is that this sentiment runs pretty deep, and that's what I was alluding to that both Obama and Hillary have some issues with Texas (and that's just one example). And I will tell you that I'm pretty certain Obama, IF he wins, will not pick Hillary to be his Veep. It won't work. You read between the lines quite well.
  6. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 09:42 AM) I'm sick to my stomach. for everyone involved. We are all involved. It keeps happening over and over again. High school, college. Doesn't matter. And yes, I'm sick to my stomach about this and also for our nation. Perhaps we were too quick to kick God out of the schools.
  7. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) I'm leaning towards this being one of the most offensive and ridiculous posts I've read in some time. EDIT: N star star star star star helps a bit, but it's still a ridiculous post. Just wait.
  8. You guys really do believe Obama is going to beat the Clinton machine, don't you? One of two things will happen. 1. Some way, shape or form the Machine will wheel and deal to get the nomination. They'll offer Obama the VP so they can put the token n***** in his place after the inauguration. I predict race riots if this happens. 2. Obama gets the nomination and Hillary gets VP. A few months into his term, so "white racist skinhead" assasinates Obama. Net Result: Hillary can be POTUS for 11.5 years. I'm leaning toward number 2 as the most likely scenario. Edit to add: I literally typed in n star star star star star ... I just feel the would be the actual Clinton perspective and used that to make that point.
  9. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 08:31 AM) I appreciate the fact that my press guy doesn't want to put his mom in a home, so I will help him however I can. He has been with me for 16 years, and despite his extensive use of foul language, he is a good guy trying to do the right thing. Now if he were unionized, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Is that more Rep-like for you? LOL ... Nice!
  10. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) Swisher will hit 50 homers. This is a 2008 thread. You can't count 2009 too.

  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 13, 2008 -> 07:22 AM) Veeck still would have wanted him to not swing I am ashamed that we went this long without a Bill Veeck and midget reference. Eddie Gaedel should be in the HOF. OBP = infinity
  13. I can't believe you fell for the old 'pull my finger' trick.
  14. One important point I'd like to make, if may interject. Regarding those sarcastic posts in the beginning of this thread that would select particular players and imply PED use by them for one reason or another ... If you read those posts straight up, and ignore the obvious sarcasm, they could be easily misconstrued by say a national sports publication. Soxtalk posts have been used ver batim in such a publication before, so it does happen. Just keep this in mind when formulating your posts. Thank you. Now, back on your soapboxes.
  15. I have to go with Mark too. Having said that, it's always about the laundry. Never would I root for an ex-Sox to have success against the Sox. However, there are guys who will always be favorites that have come and gone over the years.
  16. QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 10:39 PM) I've always found Katie extraordinarily sexy....am I alone on this? No.
  17. Definitely the baddest midget in the room.
  18. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) This is the first year that we haven't gone trolling for old, injury-prone hitters that are coming off of a down year. Quentin's young. It worked with Dye.
  19. I don't know guys. Trying an old broken down ex-Angel centefielder might be just what the team needs. After all, we don't have that key aspect anymore.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 04:03 PM) Nah, I was thining we could add most likely to get ignored.
  21. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) I guess I'll have to try harder next year to get "most likely to be flamed" Good start!
  22. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 09:47 PM) An update on my MIA salesguy. I still had not heard from him by 5:45 on Friday, so I called his cell phone, which he supposedly lost on Tuesday and was getting replaced. After 5 or 6 rings I got the voice mail. So, I left a message with a question: "I'm just curious. Would you keep someone employed if you haven't heard from them in a week? Call me, now." Nothing friday. Around 3 pm today, still haven't heard from him, so I called again and left a message asking when he was coming by to pick up his things. FINALLY, at 4:45 I get an email saying "i will be by at 8 to get my stuf." Typed just like that. Should I say something witty in the AM, or just hand him his last commission check and laugh? It's obvious that this guy had already moved on in his mind. He didn't care about this job at all. Cut your losses and look forward.
