  1. Good to see you Josh. Happy holidays to you.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) I would say Carter is an expert in the conflict with Israel area given that he negotiated the first peace between Israel and an Arab state. Then there was the Iran hostage crisis and 20+% interest rates. I will say this much about Carter. The fact he was a 'bad' president in my opinion could have been do the fact he was considered a Washington outsider when he was elected. He really didn't get much cooperation from either party.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 07:43 AM) I guess you aren't as old as I thought. And so much for your opinion on needing religion in our lives. He was easily the most truly religious President of the group. Unlike every other one in my lifetime, he actually walked the walk. He stayed involved in his faith long after it wasn't just for politics sake. How does Carter's faith figure into whether or not he was a good or bad prez. I said he was a great man. His faith was part of the reason I believe he is a great man.
  4. Apparently I wasn't clear. Jimmy Carter was the absolute worst president in my lifetime. Also want to mention that the respect for presidents must not include current ones. At least not around here.
  5. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) Sorry, but Carter isn't even close. He's the worst in my lifetime. Period. Great man. s***ty president.
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Jimmy Carter couldn't smoke a ham to save Christmas. Apparently, Carter agrees with you.
  7. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Academically, there were more than a few questions about the academic integrity of Dershowitz's "The Case for Israel" in his usage of sources, not citing them etc. He was cleared by Harvard but there's a lot of other colleges who believe that he was still less than academically honest. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rj-eskow/der...s-_b_26296.html http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?ItemID=10891 http://dir.salon.com/story/books/feature/2...witz/index.html All the more reason Carter should smoke his ass in a debate.
  8. According to the guys on Fox, Tank told some of his teammates that he has played his last game for the Bears.
  9. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/12/15/D8M1FLN80.html Um, Jimmy? YOU know nothing about the situationin Palestine! I think you said you wanted to 'stimulate debate on the Israeli-Palastine issues'. If so, then why not debate? Chicken! You'd think if Carter really believed what he said, that he'd be all gung ho for the debate. If your opponent 'knows nothing' then you embarrass him in public debate.
  10. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) KW said it would happen yesterday, but we're still waiting. Joel Pineiro, eh? I don't see the point, he provides us nothing. Hmmmm ... Me thinks it was the Toby Hall signing. Just call it a hunch.
  11. What's amazing about all this is that the '05 Sox are in the discussion. And legitimately so.
  12. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Obama never really says anything worth while he's just been pumped up by the media. That's pretty much the way I see it at this point. That may change between now and the primaries.
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 10:46 AM) With Bayh out, I'm putting my hopes on Richardson right now. The field is awfully crowded, but that may actually help someone who isn't Clinton/Obama, as they battle each other. Depends how it falls out. Unfortunately, the Dems will worry that there are too many hats in the ring, and will likely try to persuade some of them not to run. If they are banking on either Clinton or Obama they are making a mistake. She's a b**** and he's a wanna-be at this point. They need to put a serious candidate out there.
  14. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Little testy for you? As for this decision, this goes against the Constitution and our freedom, something the terrorists HATE about America. Therefore if you support this decision, you're kissing the terrorists' asses. Using this narrow logic makes so much sense! No ... I don't give a rat's ass what you think about my viewpoints. It means nothing to me.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) I feel sorry for Wells, he had to take the contract, but he just sealed his fate of never getting a chance to play in a World Series. I don't feel sorry for someone that just signed a $126M deal. Not at all.
  16. Gload is a solid bat, but he wasn't going get many AB's with us. Trading a 30 year old 3rd stringer for a 23 year old lefty with a live arm is a no brainer. Low risk .... possible high reward.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 10:30 AM) Though I am intrigued by Obama, I really wish that Bayh would have stayed in for a while (even though they are politically similar). He was one of my two guys, up to this point. Richardson still seems to be making noise like he is in. I'll listen to what Obama has to say, once he starts actually saying something. But my inclination at this point is that he doesn't have enough experience. He very well may be a force in the Democrat Party, but perhaps 2008 is too soon. I'm sorry Bayh dropped out. I'd like to several Democrats run with the hope that cream will rise to top.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) Well Nifong did get his goal acheived in this case......frame the rich white kids against the black stripper long enough to get the african american vote in Durham and be re elected. Too bad karma is knocking at the front door. I hope, if he did hang these kids out to dry the way it appears, that he gets reacquainted with some other folks he may have met in the courtroom.
  19. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) Are you sure you aren't talking about that Republican Missouri Judge? Why must your viewpoint always be in black and white? My viewpoints are my viewpoints. You don't like them, don't read them. As for this judge, he's a scumbag too. The dude in Vermont, I didn't bother to try and find out which party he represented because it doesn't matter. They both should be off the bench.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) While that may git'r done for this group, the US and the International community of normal countries needs to devise a system that works for these people. I don't like having their home countries try them, I don't trust countries that house and train terrorists. (Duh) I don't like giving them the same respect a true military person deserves (although it's as close as we have under current laws), and I don't believe civilian courts have the scope to handle this. So we need another option and it needs to be written into the current treaties we have around the world. Now this makes sense. Of course, it doesn't currently exist and probably never will.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) And his career will forever be linked with Hawk. I thought it was a dumb move then, and still do. ^^^
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 12:19 PM) Which is baseball's loss, IMO. I totally agree with you. Did I just say that?
  23. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) The angels has to look long and hard for virgins there. There is nothing new under the sun.
  24. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) They probably hated your inflatable sheep in the manger scene as well, I gather. Baaaaaaah Humbug!
  25. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) Or on his ass for being an uncle tom. When push comes to shove, there are not that many blacks electing to play baseball these days. Most focus on football or hoops.
