  1. QUOTE(Pastime @ May 15, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) I've been to that dump, and I mean DUMP, twice in the past 3 years, and it is a joke to MLB that it even exists. The food blows, the people there are jerks, the bathrooms are pathetic, that turf is a joke, the roof looks like a giant bedspread, and the air inside is stale and dry. It truly is a motel for buzzards, and should be imploded immediately. After all that, you forgot the swastika.
  2. Rowand's had a good start to the season, before his facial the other night, and Anderson has really struggled. I don't care what numbers are thrown out there, that's the fact. Still, I'm more than happy with the Thome trade.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 14, 2006 -> 03:50 AM) Who's we? You and aboz? Please speak for yourself next time. Exactly. I'd venture to guess that a vast majority of Sox fans are proud of Frank Thomas and what he accomplished wearing the silver and black.

  5. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 13, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) I f***ing hate the Cubs, all right. You'd be a much better poster if you forgot the Cubs even existed.
  6. Chicago has not always been a Cubs town. Throughout most of the 60's Chicago was very much a Sox town. Wrigley Field was an afterthought.

I basically disregard pitcher's spring training results. KW says it's difficult to evaluate a pitcher in Arizona.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 13, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Secure from what? You honestly don't think that erecting a 2000 mile wall, costing hundreds of billions of dollars, is an over reaction? Are we so afraid of illiterate Mexican peasants we need a wall to protect us? What do you mean secure from what? Secure speaks for itself. If erecting a 2000 mile wall is what it takes to secure the damn borders then build it. I don't want anybody in this country who's very first act is to disregard and violate our laws.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Cleveland might be closer to KC than us in the standings but that doesnt matter to me, we have all seen how much talent they have. I will say that I really believe no matter what, we control our own destiny. If we stay focused, no one can beat us. Best analysis yet.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 13, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) The fact that we are pining for Nelson, a guy no team seemed very interested in after he was released by the Cardinals, speaks volumes about the Sox bullpen and farm system. The fact that we are world champs and off to another great start speaks volumes about the Sox organization.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 13, 2006 -> 07:56 AM) Do you want to do the entire 2,000 miles? Whatever it takes to secure our border.
  12. QUOTE(Pastime @ May 13, 2006 -> 05:34 AM) I bought it a few months ago, and just seeing those games makes me almost cry. And I never cry for anything. I love that set, and will treasure it forever. By the way, Yasny, I haven't talked or chatted with you in a really long time, but WE DID IT! We are World Series Champions! At times, it's still hard to believe.
  13. I'm glad this juror did this. That putz was hoping for martyrdom, and this one person denied him the privilege. Now that he's realized he's going to spend his life alone in a 7x10 box, and won't have the glory of 72 virgins, he wants to change his plea. He's basically up a creek without a paddle as he deserves to be.
  14. Specifically, what you get with this set is game 3 of the ALDS, game 5 of the ALCS, all 4 games of the WS and a behind the scenes type DVD with interviews, locker celebrations, parade footage, etc.
  15. Torii Hunter is on his way down. Anderson is on his way up. Taking all things, including $$$, I'd stick with BA.
  16. I think what we've got here is one guy (Rowand) who makes difficult plays look difficult due to his grit and determinanation, and another (Anderson) who make diffulcult plays look easy. I'm not dissing Rowand here because he always gave everything he had. I just think Anderson is over all a superior CF and a lot smoother.
  17. I heard something this morning about a program called Echelon, that the NSA was intercepting everything from email to baby monitors and mining that data. Apparently, 60 Minutes had a show about this group back in 2000. I believe our current president was inaugurated in January 2001.
  18. QUOTE(Finkelstein @ May 12, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) I can't believe how many people on that board said that they wished Rowand didn't attempt to make that catch. That catch saved the game for them, against the first place team in their division, and they wished that he would have pulled up on it to avoid potential injury. They don't deserve to have Aaron, JMO. Those same people would have been the first ones b****in' if ARow would have pulled up on it.
  19. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 12, 2006 -> 09:55 AM) I didn't know if he was a diabetic. When they have really high blood sugar episodes, it's often mistaken for being drunk. That was the only thing besides drink/drugs that I could think of that would make him look that bad. He issued an apology today that basically said that he was drunk and used poor judgement by accepting the invitation into the booth.
  20. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ May 12, 2006 -> 09:51 AM) Love ARow, love the catch, but BA would have caught that with ease. ARow generally plays deeper than BA. I doubt that he would have 'caught that with ease'.
  21. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 12, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) Was he drunk or sick or something to make him nanner on like that? He was drunk.
  22. Rowand's gonna wait till he's free agent eligible and give KW a call. Book it.
