  1. Anyone got a link for this card set?
  2. After 40+ years of being a Sox fan, damn right I cried!
  3. The Score just said the plane will land at 1 pm.
  4. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) Where's the poll option that says "Uribe makes an unreal play, firing the bal to first, and winning the World Series for the first time in 88 years"????? That's the one.
  5. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Don't get me wrong i am on top of the world right now that the Sox won the series but Im kind of sad because I didn't want this season to end. It was such a magical ride. Who else feels this way. Not me. I was praying for it to end. Now I can sit back and enjoy it for a few months.
  6. The first thing I remember after the last out was being in a mutual bear hug with my father, followed by one with my son. Great moment.
  7. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Naa.. only 24! J/k Thanx as well, maybe some of you guys know what you were talking about with KW.. I have to say, that you crossed my mind last night. Not in a bad way, but in remembering some of the discussions we've had on this subject. I'm not suprised you started this thread. In fact, I expected it. Here's to ya, bud!
  8. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) I watched six Bulls championships and one Bears championship. This is the best of the group. And, there will never again be one like this in my lifetime. THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!! I totally agree. This is the best and it'll never be topped. The first one is the best one. It's like getting your first ... eh, I won't go there.
  9. Soxtalk has become like an extended family to me. It has been a distinct pleasure to share this magical, wonderful baseball season with you all. I want to thank each and every one of you for allowing me to be part of Soxtalk and for putting up with me when I'm not quite as, ummm, civil(?) ... as I should be. I want to extend a special thank you to Steph and Justin for helping me get my hands on some hard to get tickets, which allowed me to take my father to see the Sox in person for the first time in 30 years. You two will never know how much that means to me, and will mean to me the rest of my life. One final thought. We have the championship we have so longed for. I'd suggest that we take the high road. Stand tall and be proud, but don't rub it in anyone's faces. If a Cub fan starts mouthing, just smile and walk away. What better way to send the message that you don't care what they say? As I said, it's been a wonderful, magical season that we'll all remember till the day we die. Relish it. Enjoy it. Cherish it. Tip one for Jerry, Kenny, Ozzie and all the guys ... and while I'm at it, all the wives too. They support the guys through all the ups and downs and they're a huge part of this team. *wiping tears*
  10. What a f***ing night! I shared it my 72 year old father and my 25 year old son. When I started playing baseball, my favorite player was Pete Ward. What canm I say? It's been 40 years since I first stepped onto a baseball field as a member of an organized team. The whole damn time since then, I've been a Sox fan. No matter how good, or how bad, I've been a Sox fan first and foremost. I am so geeked right now, that I can't finish this post in an appropriate manner. I LOVE THE WHITE SOX. That is the 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox!
  11. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) Yea. Behold, it came to pass that the promise that The Rally Crede gave to White Sox fans was fulfilled. And The Rally Crede sat upon his throne and smiled. ... and it was good.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Oh gees thanks YAS. I'll go support the Astros then.......
  13. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) Hey, don't knock Aaron Neville. His version of GBA last night was horrid!
  14. Sinatra's "My Kind Of Town" has to be on it, or it won't be complete.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) I have a 40...fits me pretty good, but probably could have went with a 44. I've noticed some fit different. I'm 6ft (well half an inch under, but 6 sounds better). What's another half an inch, here or there?
  16. QUOTE(GSH @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Who are no longer with us "dead and gone" If this is it...I will probably shed a few tears for them. I would like to picture all of them at the big Comisky park in the sky....wow think of them southside Irish Nothing personal, but we've recently had a thread like this. Like all our dearly departed, we should let this thread rest in peace.
  17. I nominate DePloderer as our foreign good luck poster. We tried an Aussie for years, but that didn't work out too well.
  18. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Yeah, except for the "we have not won squat except for the division and the pennant", like that's nothing. Even if the unthinkable happens..............and at this point it would be a MONUMENTAL letdown..............I will still remember this team's successes...... OH WHO THE f*** AM I KIDDING?????? 4 losses in a row right now would be THE! WORST! THING! that would ever happen to any Chicago sports team! ....but that s*** simply ain't happenin'.... Perish the thought.
  19. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) This is getting ridiculous. Yes, tonight could be the greatest day of your life as a baseball fan. It could also be the beginning of the most tragic experience, the greatest Sox-related suffering EVER to hit you. Indeed, a suffering greater than has hit any other baseball team. There's a reason we play the games. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. I'll back you on this one, Antonio. As a great philosopher once said, "It ain't over till it's over."
  20. QUOTE(thatballhitdeep @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Take heed of that good advice... Sox baseball is more important than any relationship Usually more permanent, as well.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) I couldn't speak when Blum homered.. but when Crede's ball crept down the 3B line I did yell "fair ball, fair ball".. ya know.. in case they didn't know. Good call!!
  22. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) I am sooooooooooooooooo tired right now - the coffee isn't even providing enough caffiene lol. To quote Queen, "GIMME THE PRIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That's nothing more than desperation talking. They are grasping on to any straw they can. However, the bottom line is that the Chicago White Sox are going to be the 2005 World Champions and the Cubs are going to be, well, the Cubs.
  23. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) Thanks Yas, great read LMAO No charge.
