QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 05:16 AM) Yes, bagwell, biggio, and several others are still good friends from the two seasons he was there. Hey. Blum begins with B. How the hell did he ever get away from Houston?

If Walker hadn't have turned down the trade to Sox in '04, he might be getting that elusive ring. Oh well. Too bad.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) I have a good friend with a 65" hi-def flat screen TV and the most state of the art multi media room I've been in. He's a music orchestrator for features and a big Cubs fan. I generally only visit on Sundays to watch the Bears, but tomorrow night I'll be watching game 4 with a cubs fan. On his TV. Eating his food and drinking his drinks. With his wife serving me. It's only fair. That sounds appropriate to me. Enjoy!

This season and playoff run has been a total team effort. I could not be more proud of these guys. At least for a few more hours.
-
I'll watch game 4 with my father. No question about it.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) Tell ya what...if I was pitchin...I woulda stuck one under Berkman's chin with 2 outs that next inning....not hit him...but definately stuck one up under his chin. But that's me....but in hindsight...it was probably smart NOT to do that and rile up the other team....that was just me. Let sleeping dogs lie.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) I thought Cotts was pulled far too early. Neal is healthy and had only faced one batter IIRC. Cotts seemed to be over throwing the ball. He needed to back off a bit with the adrenaline rush, or whatever.

QUOTE(KeithFranklin @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) Huh? Mentioning it again does not benefit the Astros. I think that's what he meant.

How the hell can you even make a choice?

How unbelievable is this? Pods, then Blum!

Stick that one up your Astros, Houston! -
Hi guys. What's new?

Just a couple of days ago, Ozzie was talking about how the Chicago media "turned" on Dusty Baker. He said he knows it will happen to him someday as well. That might be why he's thinking about riding off into the sunset.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) I have my plan for a personalized jersey, but it's gonna take 2 more wins. WS CHAMPS 05 I'll settle for AL CHAMPS 05 if the unthinkable happens. I mentioned those ideas days ago, but I am not going to search for the thread.

Iguchi has really looked bad at the plate for a while now. His front hip is constantly flying out. Someone mentioned Everett, When is the last time our vaunted DH had an extra base hit? The way he's been going he'll end up with Mike Caruso's nickname. But, no, Iguchi will not be benched in favor of Harris. Ozzie's going to go with the guys that got him here.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Again Harold Reynolds made a silly comment. Not his prediction of the Astros winning based on Oswalt pitching. No from MMP again he made the silly statement that the whitesox are an offspeed hitting team and cannot hit the fastball. Didnt he say the same thing when Lackey and Santana faced us in the ALCS? Let me help you out Mr. BBTN. The whitesox for years have had problems with guys who throw less than 90mph. These junk ball pitchers make our hitters look silly. Now get a guy who is throwing gas and we will knock the s*** out of the ball. I am convinced that our lineup will get to Oswalt tomorrow night. He will pound our hitters in and Dye and Konerko will light him up. You want to beat the whitesox, get a soft tossing righty who paints the outside corner and can throw a sweeping slider on the outer half. That guy will give our offense fits, a flamethrower who tries to throw inside. This is like a wet dream for our hitters. Pods, Dye, Konerko, Rowand, Uribe are all fastball hitters. Of course they made the same comment that Iguchi couldnt hit a wells curveball. Crede is hitting breaking pitches now as good as anyone, maybe thats were they get this. But most likely its soley based on the fact that Konerko jacked 2 3 run dongs off of breaking pitches in the ALCS. Lets rock Oswalt and get the fat lady warmed up. Of course, they have to base their "expertise" on a small sample size. They didn't even know the White Sox existed until they looked up and Red Sox were sent home.

Who should throw out the first Pitch for game 1?
YASNY replied to rangercal's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Considering Lopez is 97 and probably not in any shape to throw a baseball, I'd go Frank in Game 1, because it set the tone the first time around. Aparicio in Game 2. If it goes 7, I'd follow up with Pudge and Minoso. I don't think Reinsdorf would even consider "honoring" himself. Nancy and Hawk are certainly worthy of consideration, but I'd stick with the players. Nothing against Daley, considering he's lifelong fan, but to turn it into a photo opp for a politician just doesn't fly in my opinion. -
QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Win it for all the bangwagon fans of '59 that continue to root and support the team through the years. That describes my father to a tee.

Well deserved. Congrats Ozzie!

Well folks, I gave it try hoping to hook some of you up, but I crapped out.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) ARod was born in NY, iirc, but his family's Dominican, and he's said that he'll play for DR in this 'world tournament' (I don't recall the name). Vlad is from DR. They also have Pujols and Miggy. That's going to be one awesome lineup. Edit: Tejada, not Cabrera. What? I thought you meant Olivo.
