I believe that anyone that was a part of this season will get a ring. Frank, Baj, Anderson, BMac, all of them.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) Honestly, I see no reason to resign Carl Everett. If he's being resigned, I'm going to be real afraid because that tells that the Sox lost Konerko and made no attempt to find a replacement for the DH and potentially didn't do anything to replace Konerko and decided to move Dye to 1st and go with Anderson in RF. If Everett is brought back, the only way it would make sense is as a starter (or platoon DH) and quite frankly I don't want to see that happen. Plus, I honestly don't think he likes being on the bench. I thank him for what he's done on the southside and will always applaud him, but I think this is the last we've seen of him, unless of course someone goes down and the club trades for him again Carl was a part of this team and he'll always be remembered for it. But his time as Sox is done.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) I disagree with this post. Why? Because we have too many other options that can hopefully do what he does at a cheaper price. Think about Brian Anderson. Let's say we do bring back Frank...if we also brought back Carl, that basically leaves us no place for Anderson. Carl will make about $4 million more than Anderson next year. That is money that can pay Konerko/Thomas. That money can be used to make us better. And if Thomas is back, or we find someone else to DH, it'd be money paid to a bench player/backup. I would rahter those at bats go to Anderson and the money go to Konerko. Anderson can also play defense.

The chemistry thing is going to be hard to recapture again. Carl had his moments to where his attitude was something less than perfect. I don't think they'll bring him back, and personally, I don't want them to.

Rumor: AL Playoff OF tests positive for steroids
YASNY replied to DonkeyKongerko's topic in The Diamond Club
Let's just hope and pray that's it's not a Sox player. -
Oh hell, I've been emotional enough.

I just saw a classy sign in the crowd. It read, "John Rooney, thanks for the memories. YOU are a White Sox Winner!"

The should have reversed the parade route and held the rally at the Cell.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Once the Blackhawks finally win a Stanley Cup, all the major professional sports teams in Chicago will have won in my adult lifetime. I was a wee lad when the Hawks last hoisted Lord Stanley's Cub. LMAO .... This is hilarious!

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) Much of Grant Park is closed and being used for other things doing to the fact that winter is right around the corner. They didn't think they could get everything set up in time. You'd think that when we made the World Series, they'd actually consider the possibility that we might actually win it and plan accordingly.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) Im not promoting a cub prospect im promoting a great prospect in general and just because this is a whitesox board doesnt mean I cant have a prospect I like in my sig. Ill tell you what if he ever does make the cubs ill take him off but until than I like him. Your going to catch a lot of flak.
-
I know this has been mentioned to you already, but seriously, you need to get rid of that sig. A Sox website is no place to promote a Cub prospect.

Bump. I'll want to find this thread again when I get home from work.

Congrats, as well, to the Astros. They had a great run and just came up a bit short. Though, it seems comical to me that the White Sox seem to the quisessential thorn in Phil Garner's side throughout his managerial career.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) All games were great. All games came down to the 8th and 9th innings. Or the 14th.

Personally, I think Bobby V is talking out his ass about talent level, but I could be wrong. This ain't gonna happen. The logistics are too difficult to overcome in a short period of time. They might be able to set something up for '06 if the so choose.

I know the History Channel put out a multidisc set on the Red Sox last year that goes for like $129.99 Whether they do that for the White Sox remains to be seen.

QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) i know its bobby...i just don't know why idaho was singled out LOL What? When you are talking about diversity, white people can't be included?

That's a thought that's been in the back of mind for quite awhile. Instead of reacting to another teams success, they anticipated that the steroid era, for all practical intents and purposes, was over. They went out and got baseball players as opposed to sluggers. The Sammy Sosa(s) of baseball are a thing of the past. Kenny and Ozzie were proactive instead of being reactive.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Yasny, I was kidding. Oh hell, I didn't take it seriously.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Showoff Eh ... not really. Some of that stuff is going to be Christmas presents.

It's funny, but as I was replays of the celebration today, I kept focusing on Crede. He's been a much maligned player who stepped up big time when it was time to do so. I've always believed in this guy, and he didn't let me down. So, here's to you Joe Crede. Our city turns it's lonely eyes to you.

I just spent over $600 .... and of course, it was just before I saw this promo code.

QUOTE(redsoxjamie @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Just to defend my boys for a minute. . . yeah, they needed a miracle to get to the world series. They're also the only team in baseball history to pull off such a miracle. Sure, if you take Pedro, Manny, Schilling, Ortiz, Damon, Foulke, Bellhorn (3 postseason HRs in 3 consecutive games), Roberts, or ANY of those guys of the team, they might not win. Where would you guys have been this year without Jenks? Or Crede? Or Dye? Or Buehrle? You're missing the point. The point is that those guys WERE on that team, and the 2004 Red Sox pulled of a feat that no other team in baseball has ever been able to accomplish. The 2004 Boston Red Sox won 98 games during the regular season--more than any other American League team but the Yankees. They swept the Angels. They came back from 0-3 against the Yankees. They swept the Cardinals. Their starting pitching was excellent. Their bullpen was very good. Their hitting was the best in baseball. Were they the best world series winning team of the past 20 years? Maybe not. But I wouldn't be so quick to sell them short. You make a good case. You enjoy your Red Sox, and we'll enjoy our White Sox. It's all good.

Here's to you, big guy!
