  1. Certainly does not make any sense. So, I say it's probably gonna happen.
  2. They said on their game today that it is a done deal. Just hasn't been announced due to needed roster juggling.
  3. Tim McCarver during the Yanks-BoSox game: The most redundant phrase in baseball this year is "The Chicago White Sox are ahead."
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Actually I'm not 100% if it was my idea or not. I know i talked with a few people and threw this idea out, but I'm not sure if someone else mentioned it as well. Regardless, I'm taking some credit for it, LOL. It's good to be king.
  5. But knocking the starter out usually leads to a W
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) Getting into the indians pen is not exactly a good thing. It's better than not getting into it.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) These commentators really suck in my opinion. They need to look up s*** more to back up their facts. That requires iniative.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) JK, just keeping consistent with my reaction to these statements. Good job!
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) Well, considering how people always get pissed at me for being Mr. Pessimist, I was glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought it was quite the "jinxable" statement. I'm always the optimist, but I don't f*** with the baseball gods.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Nice to see you had the same initial reaction that I did. What other reaction was there?
  11. QUOTE(GoArow33 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) Buehrle won't lose with a three run lead. Why do I have this feeling that this one's already in the books. I feel cocky. But I like it.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) Yep -- his PrOPS (Predicted OPS), which is based on line drives (among several other things), was .100 points higher than his normal OPS, showing he's been extremely unlucky. Using the theory that it all balances out by the end of the year, he should have an awesome second half.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Don't forget missing Frank Thomas for a good portion of the first half. The Sox have been more than cautious with minor injuries this season to Pods, Uribe, and Crede (a little more serious injury). When people criticize Ozzie for making this particular move, or starting Player B instead of Player A ... This is what they aren't seeing. It's not always about "today". He has the big picture in mind.
  14. Shingo for Cruz? I'd do that deal yesterday.
  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Please tell me this is not Todd Zeile doing color. He was absolutely brutal during the Giants and Cards last week. Don't complain too much. I'm stuck with watching the Yanks-BoSox.
  16. QUOTE(sufferingsoxfan @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) Didn't Thome used to play 3rd base? Can he still play it? If he could, he would make a great additon. The Phillies made a HUGE mistake with that contract they gave Thome. As much as I respect the guy, I don't want the Sox to be the ones to let the Phils wiggle off the hook of 3 years left on a bad contract to a 35 year old with a bad back.
  17. I thought today would have been a good opportunity for Ozzie to play Ozuna at SS and give Uribe a break. Uribe's 0 for his last 14 AB's and Ozuna has the hot hand after getting 4 hits last night.
  18. Unless this "high level prospect" is an offer KW can't refuse, I'm not crazy about this idea. We've had two relievers called up this year, Walker and Jenks, and neither of them has shown they are capable of holding down a spot in the pen. So, why would we want to just weaken our bullpen ... now ... of all times? It probably is a precursor to abother deal. That's something I can definitely see happening.
  19. QUOTE(mox2005 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) Anyone hear about this? Contreras, Marte, and Crede for Burnett and Lowell? Just woundering if these talk are stupid rumors or do they have some truth. If so BRING IT!! Mox :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger :finger Welcome to Soxtalk!
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) I couldn't resist.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) "Anyoen go onto Chicagosports.com?" WTF. Where did you learn how to type? Mike Caruso taught him.
  22. Kinda funny. Zito's no-hit the Rangers through 7 tonight. Mench took him deep for a solo shot in the 8th.
  23. And with another Twinkie loss tacked on, things are looking good in Soxdom.
  24. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) I just left SL&P and Wow! when did we start a Pale Hose Forum? And we have a Sports Bar? YNOT and PTC Contests? White Sox Minor League coverage? And who are all these other people? This place has everything. Amazing, I should get out more. You should get out more ... because you add nothing to SL&P
