Wade Boggs & Ryne Sandberg inducted to HOF
I'm glad to see Ryne get in. All anti-Cub BS aside, he was a very good ballplayer in all facets of the game and a consummate professional. And as a personal note, I have the complete 1983 Topps set which has rookie cards for both of today's inductees. Tony Gwynn should make it from that set too, when he becomes eligible.

Your Top 5 sox players of the 30 years
I've seen Dick Allen mentioned a couple of times. Does he fit within the 30 year time frame? Hey! No one mentioned Minnie Minoso.

C - Fisk 1B - Konerko 2B - Durham SS - Valentin 3B - Ventura LF - Belle CF - Rowand RF - Ordonez DH - Thomas RHSP - McDowell LHSP - Buehrle CL - Thigpen Using PK's 04 season over Frank at 1b so I could use Thomas as DH. Valentin's 2000 season is the best we've seen from SS since little Looie I went with Rowand's 04 season over One Dog in CF.

Rankings of Top Rotations in Baseball
QUOTE(babybearhater @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) I agree that most teams would have him as a starter instead of just an arm in the pen. BUT in my opinion, he would be the MOST valuable as a closer. I think he would be lights out, and would stay healthy all year, which would make him more valuable OVERALL. There are exceptions to every rule, but generally closers are not all that valuable. Well, more accurately, they are more easily replaced than a quality starter. Hell, Billy Beane changes closers like the Bears change quarterbacks.

An interesting video
QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) And I'm just saying that those "unanswered questions" are manufactured by conspiracy theorists that want to beleive there is a conpiracy in everything that is government related. The power-mongers of the world do not play by the same rules as the rest of us. If you think everything is always on the up and up because they are our elected leaders, so be it. But Roosevelt did not know about Pearl Harbor and LBJ wasn't part of the Kennedy asassination, either.

Good News
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) Bruce Levine was just on AM 1000 and said Aj is looking for a deal of atleast 3 mill a year and the Sox offer is less...plus he said Iguchi is looking for a 3 yr deal and the Sox have offered a 2 year deal. Take it for what its worth though... I don't know enough about Iguchi to have an opinion on a three year deal, but AJP is worth $3million a year.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 08:24 AM) But some video sent through e-mail over and over and over again is? I'm not saying that. I do feel there are WAY too many unanswered questions.

An interesting video
Regardless of the "evidence" shown that it was not a conspiracy, I'm not convinced the US Govt did not have a hand in it.

Something I've been thinking about
QUOTE(hi8is @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) you make it sound like you were the only one. tisk task.... there was much support for arow... not as much cynism as support, but still there were a large few who were on his side. Oh I disagree. I remember getting into several discussions where I had to back up ARow. Most people were ready to dump him for little or nothing. I also happen to agree with Rex. I felt Arow was would be a damn good ballplayer, but never predicted greatness for him.

Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim
To us old timers, Los Angeles Angels does not sound strange at all. At least they play in the same state. Unlike the NFL Jets & Giants.

Rankings of Top Rotations in Baseball
Kerry Wood would be in the rotation on any team in the majors. He hasn't lived up to expectations, but he's still a solid starting pitcher.

Good News
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) The part where it says he has an above average arm is kinda humorous in my opinion. He has a pretty weak arm whenever i see him. I'm just passing along information.

Good Missed Opportunties for the Sox?
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) YAS, is your av a picture of Lennon from how the war was won? If so, good stuff. Just wondering. No. It's Arte Johson from the old Rowan and MarTin's Laugh In show from back in the '60's.

Good Missed Opportunties for the Sox?
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) I think all of the commenting on Iguchi is a bit premature because no one here has really seen him play. Can we really judge what he will do in MLB based on his career in Japan? I don't think so. I personally would rather see AJP signed over Cora or Iguchi. He is a proven commodity at the catcher position and we need a grinder who is a lefty. I agree about AJ. I consider Japanese baseball at about an AAA+ level, so it's a decent indicator of what can be expected from Iguchi.
