  1. All I can say is that in my opinion, if they take our guns away .... we are majorly f***ed. I'm not going argue with anyone. I won't change my viewpoint. It is what it is and it will stay what it is.
  2. That's ok. He still qualifies as an ex-Sox.
  3. I added the (Red) to this quote to avoid confusion. Question though. Why would they be interested in Polanco when they could sign the greatest defensive SS in the game?
  4. He may move now .... to $11 million per.
  5. Barry Bonds had a good OBP. Joe Borchard did not. I hope that helps.
  6. A guy has to fill hours of radio time with sports related talk. What's he supposed to say ..... "I have heard some rumors and have some ideas as to what might happen based on those rumors, but I can't say anything about it because it's not fact yet and I have my journalistic integrity to consider." Nope. They are paid to talk about what they are hearing from their sources and to speculate on possible moves the teams might make. That's what sports talk radio is all about. You just have to take it for what it is, and not rely on any of it as a sure thing.
  7. Personally, I couldn't care less what uniform he wore last year. If he can be a quality pitcher for the Sox, I'm all for signing him. And I believe Clement would be a quality pitcher.
  8. See .... that's the hard part about being a GM. If you can't see into the future, you suck.
  9. Clement did say the Indians were showing the most interest. That doesn't mean the Sox were not showing any. As for Womack, he had a damn good year in St. Louis and I suggested him a few weeks ago as a possibility for the Sox.
  10. Well, we know they've contacted Matt Clement's people and have also talked to Steve Boras about one of his pitchers, so they are exploring the FA angle.
  11. It's seems to me that Garland should have more trade value than Benson had at the deadline. Benson had been iffy health and performance wise. Yet Garland has at least proven he could be a solid inning eater, has stayed healthy, plus has the potential to be a good ML pitcher.
  12. Nick Johnson's OBP and that fact he's a good lefty bat would be a definite plus for the Sox. I could care less about speed from the 1B position. If you can get it, great, but it's hardly a prerequisite.
  13. Diaz, Munoz, Grilli, etc are all very big question marks. We need to have the abyss aka the 5th starter filled and filled solidly.
  14. When evaluating Adkins and Cotts, you have to take into consideration the 5th starter fiasco that's now two years old. They had to eat a lot of innings that they normally wouldn't have had too. And that includes innings where they didn't have it that day, but had to stay in and pitch.
  15. The bullpen would have been much better last season if we would have had a reliable 5th starter. Those guys got used more often than, and in ways other than Ozzie had planned to use them. If we can solidify our starting rotation, I believe the bullpen will be fine, as is.
  16. I really didn't mean for that to be taken seriously. Not in any way. I'm sorry if it came across otherwise.
  17. You'd think you guys would at least consider a warning issued by General Eisenhower.
  18. WTF is up with this s***? Why the f*** is it ok around here to use a derogatory term, and sterotype, for people who happen to live south of the Mason Dixon line? What's next? Are we going to start throwing around terms like k***, s***, n*****, Dago, Kraut, Mick, f*****, etc. I mean, if this kind of stuff is acceptable around here, just tell me. I can sling vile filthy degrading sterotypes around too. If not, then MurcieOne .... please refrain from any and all discriminatory remarks. Not just those of your choosing. Thank you.
  19. Since this thread was based on Kerry's comments about the tape, that's where I came to the conclusion you were implying that.
  20. A centerfielder would work as well. Rowand can move to RF.
