  1. Just my luck, too. I set my sights on, and got tickets for this game months ago. Do I get to see Buehrle, Garcia or even Garland? No. Schoeneweis.
  2. Yes, Loaiza of 2003 was a fluke. We generally all felt that was the case, too. Even with him being a fluke last year, his 2004 performance has been disappointing. We have rarely seen '03 quality out of ELo, though I thought it would happen occasionally. It hasn't. He's been generally mediocre.
  3. Benson is a guy I'd take a gamble on, but not this year. I think he'd be signable from the FA market relatively cheap. He's got the ability to be a 20 game winner if he can stay healthy.
  4. This a case where I think is best to just not comment. I can think of some others around here that should consider that option from time to time.
  5. Well, getting Jurrasic is a gamble. I hated giving up Rauch simply because he was a tradable commodity. However, apparently, teams weren't knocking down the dor trying to get him after KW announced that Rauch was done with the Sox. This could prove to be a minimum risk, High yeild deal for us though.
  6. LH bat Carl Everett will be here next year for $4Mill ... but can't play defense. Yet, I've been reading for months that Valentin is overpaid at $5Mill .... What's wrong with this scenario?
  7. I really don't think Johnson will get traded. However, let me ask you guys this .... Would you have traded Garland and Rowand for Johnson during the previous offseason? If so, and you disagree with that now, what changed your mind? Discuss.
  8. That's already too much to give up for Jurassic.
  9. Hey! We ought to try that. :headshake
  10. There are exceptions to every rule, but generally ..... RAP SUCKS!!!!
  11. For the record ... I very grudgingly withdraw my objections.
  12. I withdraw my objections. After reconsidering it, ok .... go for it, KW.
  13. In my opinion you undervalue both Rowand and Garland. Rowand is going to a solid major league outfielder and Garland is curreently better than your average number 4 starter and will only get better.
  14. Frank has been an asset this year, no doubt. The dude has broken bone in his foot for Crissake! ... He's never "laid down" before. He's injured and would hurt the team more than he could help right now.
  15. You guys have some very valid points. However, this years Carl Everett is not last years version. He's an unknown at this point. Is he healthy? Is he rusted worse than the Tinman in the Wizard of Oz? Does he 4 weeks to get his stroke back? I"m just saying that he is a BIG gamble and I'd like to see us pick up more of a "sure thing".
  16. Prediction ... and I will eat a s*** load of crow if I'm wrong, Garland wins more games between now and the end of the regular season than Johnson does.
  17. Hey. We speak the same language.
  18. I am 100% against any trade that includes Garland. Rowand, Borchard, Sweeney, Diaz ... whoever. But not Garland. We've suffered through his maturing process and he's just about "there". No f***ing Way.
  19. I'm not buying it. Gload has been solid with the stick. Everett might hit .220. We just don't know what he can bring to the table now.
  20. Several very points in that post.
  21. I don't know, guys. Everett scares me. If we are going to bank our hopes on someone, I want it to be someone that is not going through a personal Spring Training at this time of the year.
  22. I think we'll see more out of Crede the second half. He's been that type of player. Carlos seems to have found his power stroke. Let's just hope that Valentin and Konerko can keep producing like they have been so far. We need to pick up one more "spark" for the line up now that Frank is out. Finley ... Palmeiro ... Frankie C from Toronto ..... Beltran .... Mike Sweeney ... I don't know who we can get, but we to get some one that can rake.
  23. The thing is ... Everett, this year, may not be any more productive than Ross Gload.
  24. We desperately need a GOOD lefty RBI producer. Aboz's $30 million comment was so out there that green wasn't needed. The sarcasm was freaking obvious.
  25. Buehrle. He's been very solid lately.
