I read through most of this thread and had to stop. I couldn't take any more. I cannot believe anyone in their right mind would seriously consider playing Gload at 3rd base on a major league level other than as a dire emergency fill in. Other than publicity stunts and emergency fill ins, their have not been any lefthanded ML 3rd basemen that I know of. It just doesn't work. For starters, the poor guy would be bunted to death. Crede's stock has plummeted? Ummm ... sure, ok, whatever.

I believe Wunsch said or did something in spring training that pissed Kenny Williams off. I am thinking that Kelly was the player that Williams was referring to when it was said that someone who thinks they are on the team better pick it up or they may be surprised. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was along those lines.

I don't know if this team was just waiting for the summer solstice to start playing each of the last 3 seasons, but they didn't play well early under Manual. They have picked it up a bit under Ozzie. Whether that is due to Ozzie or not, I don't know.
