  1. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 06:42 AM) Hillary has been using this argument that "well, they asked me and I was just answering. It's al innocent". However, she was asked several times over the past week and once again 12+ hours before she made her Rev. Wright comments. She cant use the "well they asked" defense because she WAS asked right before and didnt answer. It was a political move to bring it back up so she can tear him down. You know I'm no Hillary fan, but that's just politics. Pure and simple.
  2. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) PROOF Hillary's Rev. Wright comments were planned and prepared... She doesn't have the right to criticize her opponent?
  3. QUOTE(rowandrules83 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) I believe you are confusing Josh Brolin with his father James, who is the one actually married to Streisand Yes, I did.
  4. There is no way in hell that this won't rake Bush across the coals. Brolin is married to that lefty loon Streisand.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 07:26 AM) On the other hand, since they are all Senators, maybe the wheels will get greased and Congress and the President will get more done together. The more they do, the worse it is.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) I don't think it's been noted yet, but Hillary's other excuse for the mis-speaking was that she was "Sleep deprived". So, if you make those kind of errors when you're sleep deprived, do we want you answering the phone at 3:00 a.m.? Then again, do we want someone who'll hang up and then call Jeremiah Wright for guidance at 3:00 a.m.?
  7. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) Can i just say something that is really bothering me recently. Every-time i hear someone try to criticize McCain, the McCain supporter instantly jumps up and says something like "he's a great american. a war hero. he served his country admirably" then skirts the issue. Really? Using his service to make up for his lack or knowledge on the economy or "Iran / al-quida" blunder? Please dont think this is some attack on McCain or his supporters. I just find it really insulting to use his POW experience as a reason to hide any flaws he may have. I'm sorry, but for you of all people to criticize someone for over-the-top support of a candidate is just ridiculous.
  8. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) It just all of a sudden stopped working, YAS! Dammit! What are the odds? :rolly:
  9. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 02:08 PM) Jimmy Carter lusted in his heart, does that count? Jimmy Carter never counts.
  10. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) yuck? Dude - first White Sox fan in the White House! How can you not like that?!?! Personally, I'll pass.
  11. QUOTE(lostfan @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) Yet you say reverse speech is more accurate. Maybe we should read the guy's palms just to be sure. We need someone to check his aura.
  12. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) Well he did disinvite the guy to his coming out party...so he had to know of the controversial remarks back then. He did say this before his speech: The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation. -- Barack Obama, Huffington Post, March 14, 2008 So when he gave his speech March 18th, I wanted to hear if that statement was the truth or not. In his speech he says he heard remarks that could be considered controversial while he sat in church, but he never says what they were. Was he there for the America deliberately spread AIDS among blacks, God damn America, 9-11 was America's chickens coming home to roost, etc... or were they some other remarks. Did he lie in the HuffPost piece? We don't know exactly. He chose his words in the speech just as carefully as he did prior to it. So things aren't clear, but I would think there would have been a specific denial to those specific remarks, if he was able to do so truthfully. The way he did do it, he left himself an out...if for some reason someone is able to prove he was there for the worst comments. That's a very logical and well thought out opinion. Kudos to you. Now, let's see where the chips fall.
  13. Mark my words. Within 6 months one of the rovers will become nonoperational.
  14. I'll agree. This is weak. If it wasn't you can bet I would have brought it up. But now that's it's out there, it should not be dismissed out of hand. Let's let it run it's course and see if it leads to anything concrete. If not, and that's the way I think it will go, then that will become apparent in due time.
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) I just find it odd that a Republican can defend Obama but Clinton just keeps trying to rip the party apart. yep ... I totally effed up on that one. Guilty as charged. But I can admit when when I'm wrong.
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) I would never disagree about Wright, but I will have to disagree about this "truth" - Obama clearly stated he HAD head the Reverend say some questionable things that he disagreed with. When did he deny that? I may have missed it, in all seriousness. From what I understand, and I can't prove it because I'm too damn lazy to search for it, Obama at first said he hadn't heard the questionable comments, and then said he he did but objected to them. I don't know what the truth is.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) OK, I admit it. I actually didn't know that's what your name stood for until now. In fact, I always wondered if it was a New York reference of some kind. That's what it stands for.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:49 AM) Heh. Pretty funny write up of the tax stuff that happened today. From TPM: The ball is definitely in Hillary's court.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Why? Mike Huckabee seems to be at least a decent person. Yes. Huckabee was the cream of the crop on the Democrat side. I didn't think so at first, but I'd probably vote for him over McCain.
  20. QUOTE(lostfan @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:41 AM) levels she'll go, or levels she's started heading to already? You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet!
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) Who would have known the R in her initials stood for Rambo? Very good!
  22. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:33 AM) I did the math: If Clinton wins Penn by 20 points (HIGHLY unlikely) and Indiana by 10. And if Obama wins NC by only 6 points. Then Clinton needs roughly 80% of the remaining PLEDGED delegates to win the total pledged delegates! This thing will be decided by May 6th. Unless you expect Clinton to step aside for the benefit of the party (highly unlikely and out of character, imho) you are drastically underestimating the levels to which she'll go to pry the nomination away from Obama.
  23. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 11:18 AM) C'mon YAS, you have to admit it was pretty funny. What I really have to admit is that it took me a few to remember who he was. LOL
  24. Let's look at Paulie's career when it's over. Comparing at this point is pretty much useless.
  25. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 10:25 AM) It's a tough play. I'm not gonna chew someone out who couldn't make a tough play, whether I like them or not. It was a tough play, and Ramirez should be the last one blamed for those 2 runs that scored. He gave it all and couldn't come up with it. Defensively, Ramirez has been fine this spring. I'm not chewing him out. But that play needs to be made when you are a major league ballplayer. It's ST so it doesn't matter. But that is my opinion, regardless.
