You're, your.... passed, past ..... then, than. I see these words interchanged for each other a lot in here (that reminds me ... here, hear also). Some are typos or just occasional lapses, but some happen with quite regularity from the same sourses.

billy joel and elton john
There's an awful lot of talent there. I'm sure it was an enjoyable concert. There were too many great songs recorded buy each of those guys for it not be. billy joel did something cool..he said since he could play all his siongs he'd let the audience decide..so he gave out 3 songs and they played the one the got the most cheers...he's pretty cool...really works the crowd Though I never saw either one of them in concert, I'm sure they know how to work a crowd.

Possible Line-Up
I agree that any weapon is an asset, including speed. But in the AL game, it's more of the Earl Weaver style of baseball.... wait for the three run homer. I don't agree with it, but that's the way it is. I'm more pitching, defense, on base percentage type of baseball.... moving the runner, etc.

garland rips sox fans
First off.... I heard part of the interview and he did say that the fans shouldn't boo in the home park. He said that to him it's like having his teammates boo him. He feels he's out there busting his butt, giving 100% and the fans should respect at least that much. These are NOT exact quotes, but the basic crux of what I heard. And Koch this ... I disagree. Any fan who pays $5 per beer, $30 for a ticket, $10 to park, $4.50 for a hot dog has right to boo any damn time he gets the urge. I'm not sure about these prices, probably higher actually, but I'm sure they are in the ballpark.... pun intended.

Wee Willie
From an article by Doug Padilla in the Sun Times: The whole Harris portion of the article has the same basic theme. Has he looked as bad as the board says he has or is he just going through some "hang wiffums", as Hawk says? Here's the link to the article: Padilla

You don't have to have blazing speed to lead off. OBP is the big key. Look at what Oakland did with Jeremy Giambi... that seemed to work out for them for awhile.

Jose Canseco .....
Canseco has always been living on the edge .... speeding tickets at 120 mph or whatever ridiculous speed he was traveling, the bar fight with him and his brother, roughing up a lady o two f I remember correctly, the steriod allegaions, and now this.

Jose Canseco .....
he was past, history, ego, and looking for his numbers, not a team guy - why play the fading past rather the developing future? it is a shame - not that his personality and his conspiracy theories endear him to anyone - i disagree that he wasnt a team guy..when he was with us he conducted himself very professionally...i dont remember one bad word be said about him from anyone..and like i said...watching him the last half of '01..i really became a fan of his..he wasnt a guy that just would swing for the fences..he really tried to play the game the right way...i dont know..he impressed me and i would have liked to have him back Jose impressed me when he was with the Sox. But he really needs to put on a muzzle.

Washed up Veteran Relievers
One night Rex says he was in the stands at B'Ham, the next someone says he got the save at Charlotte. Needless to say I'm confused: Where exactly is Yofu, and what exactly is tofu?

Borchard, Miles and Hummel all homer
Maybe JB is beginning to get it together. Another month or so, without injury so he can get his AB's, and we just might see him in CF.

Cotts destroying Jax
Cotts just may be trying to get someone's attention.

Kenny Williams ESPN 1000 Interview RECAP
I have the curtains drawn tight and am wearing sunglasses. LOL LDF, I work midnight shift, and kill hours upon hours on this board and other places on the net. I usually have to kill 4 to 5 hours a night. It's boring as hell, but it pays the bills.

Hey baggs. I like the idea of Olivo batting 2nd. If he could handle the responsibilities involved with batting in that slot, and still learn the ins and outs of handling a pitching staff, I think he'd be very good there.

Carl Everett
You make some good points and ask some intriguing questions. I did say it might help Garland to go to Charlotte for a while. I never said, nor believed, he was "trash". Sometimes, a trip to AAA allows a guy to get his head on straight while not being in spotlight of the majors. As for Everett vs. Borchard in center or left, however that would play out would be fine. I didn't like the Erstad trade, when it was first announced and was relieved when it didn't go through, though I was, and still would, waver on that one. The difference is that Erstad, though he does not have Everett's natural ability, he's damn close and he is a team player. That's the type of guy you want on your team. Not a loner or malcontent such as Everett seems to be. When I think of Everett, I am reminded of Tony Phillips.

Possible KW successors?
I felt like discussing the virtues of any possible successors deserved it's own thread. Didn't the Sox pick up a guy that supposed was the brains behind the Angel's talent? Fontaine may have been his name. If so, this might be the guy.

Kenny Williams ESPN 1000 Interview RECAP
The end of the week is fast approaching and I await with eager anticipation for the announcement. I think the team will play better baseball just having the weight of Kenny's overbearing presence lifted off of their collective shoulders.

Enema
Hey guys, as of right now, we are .500 in Oakland. That shows one hell of an improvement.

who should become the starting 2nd baseman
Miles had to have shown something last year to be Southern League MVP and again in Spring training to catch Jerry Manual's eye. Sometimes, a guy is just "ready". Maybe this is the case with Miles. I'm open to anybody that will make the Sox a better team.
