I've got AOL Media player and all that pops up is a screen that says that this file type is not supported by AOL Media player. Is there any way to prevent this or get a different media player?

It's great that Bobby is our new closer and hopefully will be for years to come, but I still don't know about Marte. If he would just throw some more strikes, I'd be a little more confident, but with the walks that Marte gives up in tight situations I don't know if I want him pitching in the 9th any more than he has too. As for Hermy, it's really sad to see him leave the closer position I really wish him the best as a set-up man and I think he'll be alright in the new position.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) If McCarthy messes up, will it be Ozzie's fault for starting a rookie in a tough situation? I don't think so. Ozzie's making the right decision and even if BMac gets roughed up by the tough twinkie offense it can't be worse than what El Duque did against them on Saturday. Also, does anyone know who he'll be facing in this game? Will it be Santana again? If so that would really suck.
-
Thank God! It's good to hear BMac is getting to start again after all these crappy El Duque starts we've been getting used to. Good to get El Duque some rest too.
-
Thanks for the great optimism TexSox! You just brightened by day, and to tell you the truth I feel pretty convinced now that the Sox will pull this thing out.
-
No crap! Garland needs to shut these frieking Twins down so we actually have some confidence going into the game against Santana, and hopefully have a little confidence going into the Indians series.
-
QUOTE(shakes @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) I like it. I don't think Ozzie has the stones. I also agree with this too. I don't think Ozzie has the guts in him to do this.
-
I personally agree, and think this would be a great idea. If Jose and Mark pitched 2 out of those 3 games I think we'd have a good chance at winning both of those games, even with the slump Mark's been in lately.

QUOTE(alexgtp @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) It is all up to the SOX. They have to sweep the Indians!! That'd be awesome but I have a feeling it won't happen. If the rotation stays the same it'll be Garcia, Buehrle and Garland that series, and we all know how Garcia and Buehrle did in their last starts. I'd feel better if Ozzie went to the 6 man rotation right now and McCarthy, Contreras and one of the other s***ty pitchers we have pitched.
-
Hey, congrats on the playoff spot BMAC. I really think he could be an answer to our prayers out of the pen in the playoffs. It'd be great to have a guy who could suck some innings in the extra inning games or games when our pitching sucks. We'll need our other relievers well rested in the playoffs and BMAC will help them do that.
-
Holy crap, that's pathetic. Rockies have been done for basically the whole season and still have the same elimination number as the Twins! We could only wish that that division was in our league.
-
Finally Maggs realizes that his team sucks, but unfortunately for him He didn't realize that at the start of the season when he agreed to play for them. Now he has to pay the price and watch the Sox rule the AL without him just because he was greedy.
-
You gotta go man. Even if the Sox hadn't won a game out of 50 while I was in the stands I'd go.
-
Who's the White Sox MVP this year? I know Ozzie said it was Tadahito a while ago. What do you guys think? Also, who picks the team MVP the players, the manager?
-
If Crede comes back before the postseason, have Ozuna and Blum finish the season at third, because we'll have the division over with by then. In the playoffs though I agree that Crede should be a starter with Pablo coming in in the late innings for some offensive speed.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) Pitching...god damnit, one of our guys better win that damn glove. There have been none better in the AL this season than Mark/Jon. I agree. The AL pitcher gold glove is a toss up between Mark and Jon this season. The winner goes to the one of theose two who has the lowest ERA at the end of the year. (We'll wait and see)
-
yeah, I agree. It'd be really nice to see, but in reality it probably won't happen, because of publicity for the MLB.
-
Do you think there will be any White Sox gold glove winners this year. I personally think Rowand could and Mark and Jon have been great this year, like usual. It'd be great to see Aaron win it, as good as he's been this year in critical situations, when he had to make a play. Also, I think A.J. deserves one behind the plate. He's been near perfect and is the best pitch-caller in the MLB. Plus, if he's in a close race with another catcher, his spike in offense this year could help him overcome another player. Here's some fielding stats: TEAM POS G GS INN TC PO A E DP PB SB CS RF FPCT A. Let's get that 4th 8 gamer tonight, and clobber the Angels for our first 9 game win streak since 1981. Heck, lets keep going and just stay undefeated in september
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!&#
HeGone! replied to the People's Champ's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Way to go Sox! 6 in a row, and 16 and counting! -
Barring a great outing tonight for El Duque, shouldn't McCarthy get the experience and pitch Sunday?
-
If this is the all injury team then where's Bonds on that list.

QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Back during the Royals futility streak of 19 games I sent in an e-mail asking Hawk and DJ which they thought was harder to do win 20 in a row, which the A's did in '02 or lose 20 in a row. DJ said its always harder to win and Hawk said that they were both very tough to do. I TiVo'd it too, it was weird hearing Hawk say my name on the air, especially since it is so hard for some people to pronounce. I remember that one!

[ QUOTE(Hanky Panky @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 07:24 AM) My mom had her e-mail answered the day after (Monday) the last Sox/Yankees game. She didn't really ask a question. She just made a comment about an ignorant fan at the ballpark. She said that a man at the ballpark asked her who the guy in left field was. It was Timo Perez. The man was surprised my mom and aunt knew so much more than him about the White Sox. I've been in college so I did not get to hear the e-mail or watch the game for that matter. My mom recorded the read aloud e-mail though from a CSN Replay, so I will hear it as soon as I get home. I have a similar story to this. I asked them a question about who has the advantage when facing former teammates, like Maggz and our pitching staff. Both of them said "flip a coin" and Hawk went on about how a former teammate struck him out 14 times in a row. Anyway I was checking the scores on ESPNEWS and when I turned the Sox game back on they were answering my question, so I missed it. Luckily they had the replay on at 1 Am the next morning so I recorded it and sure enough they had answered my question. Also, I figured Hawks shout out to Soxtalk was in response to an e-mail, although it doesn't work on my computer, which is a piece of crap
-
Just curious. Has anyone else ever had thier e-mails answered by Hawk and DJ? I just had mine answered on Sunday, and it was pretty cool. If so what did you ask them and what was their reply?
