  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) It is all about the tone. Burton has a way of making dark fantasies and stories into something almost whimsical. Keaton fit the mold of his Batman, in both the theme of the movie and the writing and direction of the character. I dont think Keaton, Kilmer or Clooney would have fit into Nolans view of Batman/Bruce Wayne in the way Bale did, and I dont think Bale would have fit into Burton and Schumachers view of Batman/Bruce Wayne the way those three did for Burton/Schumacher. I found this interesting read today, 10 Batman films that almost happened http://batman-news.com/2013/07/04/10-batma...ost-happened/2/ I didnt know Schumacher kept trying to get one more film. A third Tim Burton movie would have been cool.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) With all the consternation about Affleck, I can't believe no one has pointed out the obvious: Michael Keaton. Maybe I'm the only one old enough to remember, but when he was named as the "new" Batman in the 80's, everyone's reaction was "Mr. Mom is Batman? Are you kidding me?" Well, turns out the movie was a huge success and people liked him a lot as Wayne/Batman. Not saying it will be just like that here, but... Affleck may surprise you. I liked Michael Keaton as Batman. Still a fan of those movies as well. a little dated, but pretty well done. Keaton still seems like an odd choice for Batman, but for some reason it worked.
  3. I watched that play with Kevin Kolb and I can't even tell if he hit his head.
  4. I would love a Flash movie with Gorilla Grodd. I just don't understand the Marvel vs. DC stuff. Most comic writers and artists have worked for both at one time. Hell even the two companies don't even fight. I read an interview with the head of Marvel and all he talked about was how excited he was to see Man of Steel.
  5. I will give Alex Rios a slow golf clap tonight.

  7. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:50 AM) Who would you start as a 2nd flex...Andre Brown, Fred Jackson, Zach Sudfield, Tyler Eifert, Josh Gordon, or Ryan Broyles? Are one of the backup RBs worth starting over the potential of the other 4? Also is Sudfield worth hanging onto or should I pick up Heath Miller who's coming off an ACL injury and will miss a few games? EDIT-Just found out Gordon is suspended the first 2 games, so he's out. I would go with Eifert or Sudfield.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 09:08 AM) And that's where we get back on the path towards the Clooney/Kilmer movies, where they were just a little bit (or in the B&R case, way too much) too campy/corny to work. I'd hate to compare anything to those movies, as they are some of the worst ever made. I think those movies failed so badly because they tried to get too cartoony with them. They were trying to make them like the old Adam West tv show. I would think Superman/Batman will be closer to The Avengers in style and theme.
  9. I would bet that this Batman won't be as dark. I would think that Superman/Batman will more of a big action movie.
  10. Affleck will be fine. I never thought Bale was all that great.
  11. Ray Rice is only 26. He seems older for some reason.
  12. I would like Ridley a lot more if he caught passes. Martin Kaepernick Rice
  13. Rocket Raccoon should be the star of the movie, he is awesome. I recommend the current run of the Guardians of the Galaxy comic. Good stuff.
  14. QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) Two years ago Tucker had a top 5 defense in Jacksonville running a cover 2 scheme. Apparently he's even using the same verbiage as the last regime for continuity. This defense is perfect for him and anybody who thought the defense would drop off drastically didn't know very much about Mel Tucker. The only reason to believe it would drop off is if it was thought Peanut and Jennings couldn't continue playing the way they have been. I think it has to do with age more than coordinator. Three of the stars on defense are now 32 and older.
  15. That Chargers line is really bad. Fluker will probably be good, but not now. King Dunlap as a left tackle is scary.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 03:58 PM) GOSOX05 is going to have to post a picture of himself to prove it wrong We really are just that creepy. No need to try and hide it.
  17. I actually think Matt Flynn will do ok. That team is just so bad right now, I wouldn't see many QB having success there. Flynn has a weak arm on the deep ball, but he has plenty of accuracy.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 11:36 PM) The Bridge was really good tonight. I'm having trouble keeping everyone straight, though. There's a lot of characters. I really like this show, reminds me of The Killing.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) Dang. 72 hrs is too long in the twitter age. Only 71 hours 49 minutes and 10 seconds to go!
  20. Why would someone claim Casper Wells.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) I am too I've been playing Oblivion lately and, nevermind how I never realized how ass backwards the leveling system truly is, the story is still so good. Just got the add-ons for the first time too and while some of those are goofy and ridiculous ("I inherited Vile Lair, which just so happens to be a house of Sithis. Oh, I also happened to inherit Frostcrag Spire, which is like the coolest mage building of all time. Oh, and if I go kill a couple maurauders and a few skeletons, I can get my very own castle AND pirate ship too!), they are also very cool too. Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine are really fun too. I've been thinking about playing Oblivion. I'm worried that is will be a big step back from playing Skyrim.
  22. I'm ready for another Fallout game.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 08:05 PM) Anyone else pumped for Kick Ass 2? Yes. Big fan of the comic and the first movie. The red band trailers have been really good so far.
  24. You can't even do the Incredible Hulk sack celebration.
  25. Sucks that Bulaga is missing the year, but it's not the end of the world. Packers are 22-6 and average 27.6 points per game with Newhouse at LT.
