I love MarioKart. If the new Xbox wasn't coming out I would buy a WiiU just for that game.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) That was the example he gave though. It obviously has some part to play in his thinking that Trestman wouldn't be a good head coach. Probably a lack of loyalty to long term players or something. He just seems bitter in the article. I don't know why he is so bitter about it. He was 35 at time. It's not like he was 27 and they replaced him.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) "Brown had posted nine straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons with the Raiders entering 2002, the year Trestman took over as the team’s offensive coordinator. In that 2002 season, Jerry Rice emerged as the team’s leading receiver and Brown finished with 930 yards. “The year he took over as offensive coordinator is also the year my reign with the Raiders ended because he made Jerry the No. 1 receiver instead of myself,” Brown said. “The year before I made the Pro Bowl and caught [91 passes for 1,165 yards] … and the year afterwards, the year he takes over I think I came like 50 yards from catching 1,000 yards in 10 or 11 straight seasons. “Hey, look, I’m not a selfish player, but come on, if I put the work in, make this happen for me. We had some interesting words about that part of it.” http://blog.sfgate.com/raiders/2013/01/16/...hired-trestman/ That's not why he said Trestman would be a bad head coach though. He doesn't think Trestman can command a room. Although it's obvious he is pissed about losing that number 1 spot back then. Which is weird cause he still put up pretty big numbers in 2001 and 2002.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Tim Brown has been talking a bit too much lately. Why would he bring that up a decade later? I recently read an article where he criticized the Trestman hiring and cited Trestman making Jerry Rice the number one WR in oakland over him as the reason he isn't a good hire. I kid you not. I don't think Tim Brown ever mentioned Jerry Rice. He said he thought Trestman was a great football mind, but didn't think he could lead a team.

Ray Lewis is gonna get all the attention the next two weeks, but he isn't very good anymore.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) I dont think anyone stops to make sure he's OK when there's such a crucial play on the field. Its not like you have time to think about the whole situation, that s*** happened in less than a second. Some of the players might not have realized that he was injured, but the NFL needs to do a better job of getting those players away from a player that could of had a significant injury. The way he was hit could of caused neck damage and he was on the ground not moving. You got players from the Ravens falling on him and stepping over him.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 08:28 AM) It took one of the greatest drives in NFL history to prevent them from going 19-0, and they are a fluke drop by Welker away from winning a 2nd Super Bowl too. The Ravens haven't gotten it done in a while either. People who bring up the Spygate stuff are rehashing useless history. All they've done since then, including 2007, is win 76 games in the regular season, make the playoffs 5 out of 6 seasons, make the AFC Championship 3 times, and make it to 2 Super Bowls. Spygate has had literally no effect on that franchise and everything else is incidental. They are unbelievably arrogant, and he's got that part down pat. This is would Patriots beat writer Greg Bedard said about it. @GregABedard For those wondering, helmet-to-helmet hits are legal on running backs and/or when receiver has established himself as a runner.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 08:08 AM) Ridley going out cold was sickening Yeah and watching players fight over a fumble next to his lifeless body was awful.

Who will be the Blackhawks 4th line center? I'm guessing the first three are Toews, Kruger and Bolland. -
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) After listening to Trestman yesterday and doing research on all the new coaching changes, I changed my mind. The Bears mgmt said money wouldn't be a issue when it comes to the new coach and then they hire a guy on the bottom of the list How would you rank the new head coaches? I'll let you know how they rank it about 2 years.

Doesn't matter, it won't last very long. He will get suspended or will be awful and they will put him back on the 4th line. -

How could T'eo fall for something like that? I think he would better off saying he planned the whole thing. -
NFL salary cap is goofy. There is all kind of weird s*** going on. Bonus money, left over money from last year. You can cut guys, but some money still counts against the cap. I'm sure one of the beat writers will do a article on it.

I hope the Bears let Peppers go and don't resign Melton. I would love for a division rival to get rid of their best outside pass rusher and inside pass rusher. Then we can talk the Vikings into releasing Jared Allen and Kevin Williams.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 01:03 PM) Luke Kuechly is a much better player than Teo. You don't know that. T'eo hasn't played yet. -
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) Assuming Melton and Urlacher are gone, we may have better personnel for a 3-4. Also give us a good reason to cut Peppers and save $9 million off the cap. DE- Wootton NT- DE- Paea OLB- McClellin MLB- Briggs MLB- Roach OLB- vs. DE- Wootton NT- 3T- Paea DE- Peppers (at great cost mind you) OLB- Briggs MLB- Roach OLB- Same number of holes to fill, and were spending a lot less money on the defense side of the ball. Wootton and Paea are awful fits for the 5T. Peppers is the Bears best defensive player. They may save money, but how do they replace that production?
-
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:54 AM) Rob Ryan is actually a really good defensive coach. He'd never come here though for obvious reasons. He also runs a 3-4 and I don't see the Bears making the switch. At least this year anyway.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) He was great in Buffalo last year, he only had an historically bad defense. He's been awful everywhere. Remember when he was gonna be the next great coach. He may be done in the NFL.

What defensive coordinators are out there for the Bears to hire? Dave Wannstedt?
-
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) My dad wants to go either way, so I purchased the tickets for myself, wife and dad. I think going to the Super Bowl regardless of who is in it would be awesome.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:37 AM) Andy Reid watched all 16 chiefs games before his interview with KC. Trestman says he hasn't seen much film on the current group of bears players. WTF It must have been awful to watch all 16 Chief games. Brady Quinn!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) Fun Trestman quotes edited and taken out of context: "I first met Jay (cutler) 10 years ago, in a hotel room in Nashville. We had no facilities, and no Wide Recievers. For two days we just stared at each other." "I cannot wait to get my hands on Jay" That is great. I bet that actually happened.

I haven't heard anything about charity money. Is there a link for that? This is a totally different story if money was involved. -

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) So long as it's not a distraction in the locker room. It won't be. College and NFL players have done a lot worse. It will be embarrassing for him, but if he comes out week 1 and has 13 tackles and a sack, no one will care.
