  1. Anybody else hear that guy on Boers and Bernstein the other day that said being gay should be a felony because it's immoral, and dog fighting is ok because it's evolution just like Sir Issac Newton invented? Good times. Oh, you mean that has nothing to do with this thread? Ok then, I will say this is pretty asinine to ban somebody from a bar due to sexual preference. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:57 PM) And what happens at the door? Do they have, as my gay friends have so hilariously put it, "Gay-dar"(rhymes with radar) to detect the homosexuals and turn them away? Not all homosexual men are the stereotypical flamboyant feminine men. First of all, gaydar rhymes with radar? You don't say , and second, I would assume the fast majority of gay men aren't the stereotype flamboyant type.
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 30, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) From what I've read, Wallace would almost have to be moved in any deal, because of Kobe and Wallace's ridiculous contracts. You would be correct sir. I did some tinerking with that GM Trade Machine thing on ESPN's website, and the deal is impossible to do right now unless Ben is involved.
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2888923 I'll miss him and Marv on TNT, great broadcasts.
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) What about when he deeked Derrek Lee into believing the ball was foul saving a run? That was outstanding, and those fools Dusty and D Lee have the nerve to call it bush league.
  5. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) thats why i would like a guy like hunter on the team. sure, it wouldnt be worth it, the money and years, but hes a leader and plays hard. Those are my exact thoughts on Hunter as well.
  6. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) The Sox were on fire in June and could've had NL July pitcher of the month (5-0) Russ Ortiz (another guy KW has always targeted) and Andruw Jones for Magglio/Rauch (according to TBS) when he was still on the DL. That would've been an interesting team. Well yeah, but we never actually had that team, lol. And if we turned down Maggs and Rauch for Andruw, I think KW should have been fired on the spot for that err in judgement.
  7. I still think the 2003 team had more talent than the one 2 years later, but to imply injuries doomed the 2004 team is something I can't agree with. There is a reason we had wholesale changes after that year.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) If we can make that middle of the road pitcher someone decent, then I'd have no problem. Of course, KW has to know that Buehrle won't be back then. Lastings is the type of high ceiling athlete we severely lack, and he also has the charisma to spark a team. Oh if it's Lastings AND a pitcher of significance I wouldn't mind. Just don't see that happening though, KW hasn't pulled off a move that major in a while.
  9. I'd like to see a firesale under the direction of our new GM Rick Hahn, but that's a pipedream. I bet we don't even firesale, Kenny is too smug to do that.
  10. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) Could happen in all reality! I'm aware, that's what I'm afraid of.
  11. Why do I smell Mark Buehrle for Lastings Milledge and some middle of the road pitcher?
  12. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) KW has had the highest payroll in the AL central every year since 2001 and has won one division. He needs to go, its his time. Clean out the organization, its clear we are not headed in a great direction. Our minor leagues are horrible and our major league team is old and slow, worst possible combo. Promote Rick Hahn who is a more numbers guy and not a feel guy and lets see where he takes us. Agreed on all counts. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) "WE ARE CHICAGO BASEBALL" There is no baseball in Chicago this year. It's all garbage.
  13. Is under .500 and 4th place in June still too early?
  14. Game starts at 6:07, ends at 7:58. We give up 2 hits and lose by 2. Amazing job guys, you have outdone yourselves.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) It's a 4 game series. Ouch Tito.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) It happened at the end of Carlos Lee's 28 game hitting streak I'll never forget that. Lee has a 28 game hit streak and Walker is down on him because he only hit 1 home run during it.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) I know that Santo is going to come after me after I mention this, but I'd still try and get Santana. Where would he play? I don't know, see if the Mets want a pitcher for Milledge and a decent pitching prospect. Santana in our ballpark half of his starts=no thanks.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:55 PM) You know it's bad when I hold Kenny Williams more accountable for this team sucking than Ozzie Guillen. Agreed, and it's not even close right now. KW is WAY more at fault.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) As much as we overrate their prospects, the Angels might get desperate for a 3rd baseman. Yeah, if the Angels call I would say that's an exception to my comment, they are REALLY desperate.
  20. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) Will Buehrle get credit for a Complete Game only pitching 8 innings? Yessir, if you pitch every inning of the game the other team bats, it's a complete game. I saw Mark Hendrickson throw a 6 inning complete game in person at Yankee Stadium once for example.
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:50 PM) Here would be my moves: - Trade Crede (call up Fields) - Call up BA for CF and Sweeney for LF (dump Pods) - Trade Iguchi if you can get any value We can't really trade Crede or Iguchi right now though. We have to hold onto them until July, hopefully they get hot and as the deadline approaches teams get desperate and overpay. Because to trade them now would be the Cub thing to do, since we'd get nothing back.
  22. QUOTE(GOD @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) only the bad times can make you truly appreciate the good ones God with a great point. No idea why I find that funny, but that screen name is great.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) Well at least Buerhle won't lose a 1 hitter. That's true at least. I wonder if Ozzie will mention him being prone to the longball as why we lost tonight.
  24. What a perfect capper to the night. Frank gets us again.
