QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) I am fairly confident that 80 percent of those players have no idea who he was. Considering he has an office at the football facilities to this day, was involved with the program as an advisor, and was the main reason Carr didn't get axed after last year, I'll say the players know who we was. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) On one level, you are correct. However, lefties in general do get more of a shot and are more in demand. Therefore, that particular appendage does have an influence on perceived or potential value. Well yeah, but this is an average relief pitcher. Relief pitchers, outside of the really good ones, don't have any value at all, as has been proven as long as the day is.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) I'm thinking it looks like a Wayne Krivsky signing. Well at least that's what I'm hoping, and that Kenny hasn't lost his touch. ^^^^^^ This would be our worst move in several years if we gave this loser 3/15.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) And Cotts is a lefty. Ozzie, is that you?? HOORAY APPENDAGE BALL!! His handed ness means nothing, the talent does.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) So MSU somehow beat Texas MSU isn't very good, but Texas is really, really young and equally overrated. MSU played well, so there ya go. -

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) Thats because we have the banners to point at. You would too. My favorite NBA teams has 6 banners that, unlike in the case of IU students, were won during my lifetime and during a time in which I remember, and I never point at them. And based on your sig, I guess your the typical IU basketball and ND football fan. At least that's not being a bandwagoner. -
QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) Hendry has gotten some good players for nothing (Ramirez and Lee.) He got Cotts fresh off a terrible season and gave up nothing from what I've read. These days when pitching is at a premium we should have been able to get better in return. Good point, Cotts is just as good as D Lee and Ramirez. This will be looked back upon as the worst trade in franchise history, and once again shows why Hendry has been such a great GM for years, and KW sucks.

Did I just hear that right on the Score, Hendry saying he might think about putting Cotts in the starting rotation?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 07:10 AM) Still have that Gordon jealousy eh? Jealousy? Indiana has the most arrogant, annoying, banner pointing fans in the land (outside of those on this site, who are actually very good fans IMO). That has been the case since I can remember, long before Gordon came along. -
Not sure why people are ripping this trade. Aardsma is REALLY young and has a great arm, and Vasquez has amazing numbers last year. Cotts is 26, has below average stuff, a lot of wear and tear, and is 3rd on our lefty RP depth chart in a good world (a world where Boone Logan figures out his crap). I don't mind the trade at all.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) It's no rant, my man. It just is mind boggling why the Red Sox are so stupid when about 2/3's of the league put in a legitimate bid. Are the Red Sox stupid for understanding the appeal of such a high caliber player and bidding accordingly? I just don't really understand it. That's all. Is that supposed to be convincing? Most GM's in baseball are complete morons, and you know that was well as I do. Their love for the gyroball only confirms to me how stupid this all is.

Will this book finally shut up those people who are still happy O.J. got off since his trial was just "the courts holding the black man down"? This is a confession basically, so yeah.

QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) Jim Hendry with yet again another crappy signing and waste of money He's overspending like crap, but Blanco is a really good backup. Plus, Hendry doesn't care about these contracts, only the players. Hendry has 2 years left until his contract is out, and he's depserate considering how bad their organization is personnel wise right now.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) ISU top recruit Craig Brackins drops 28 points in one half. Yay. I'm starting to get excited..... Well he's a 5 star recruit, you should be..... Oh, and Boozer's brother looks exactly like Carlos. Except he's a 6'3, 190 2 guard instead of a bulldozing 6'9, 270 pound 4, which is a bit odd.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) It was nice to see Warren Carter kind of take control of the game for the Illini today. He was always a personnel favorite of mine and now with Randle, Smith, and McBride all out he is kind of the team leader in a way. I kind of had low expectations but if Randle, Smith, and McBride all get back and play well and Carter takes a step forward we can be a pretty good team. Yeah, with all these injuries your seeing some guys step up, such as Carter, Frazier, and even Calvin Brock was really solid tonight. And tonight was another step towards Carlwell taking all of Marcus Arnold's minutes, he blows and is the only guy on the team I have no hope for (although he's a 5th year senior, so it's not like he'll be around much more anyways). -
They'll regret it, it's been a long time since Frank stayed healthy 2 years in a row. He'll hit #500 for them though, which will put some asses in seats.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) Hit your FT KU. If you have to rely on free throws to beat a sexual favor at home, it's going to be a long year. Although you are right in general. -

Good call Buehrle > Wood, UNC really blew out Winthrop. It's not like Winthrop has been a mid major power the last several years or anything though. And how bout them Jayhawks!! Losing at home to Oral Boberts. Those B teams are a b****, and not as much as Bail's in game coaching. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) KU just lost to a sexual position. Sadly, when I heard that final on the way home, I thought the exact same thing. -
I'm ashamed to be white after watching that.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) I'm interested tonight to see how close Winthrop can play with the Tar Heels. I can't wait until Winthrop visits NIU on December 2nd. Last year, we played them to a triple OT game at their place for Bracket Busters, and this time we get them up here on campus. That should be a fun time. -

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) They still aren't going anywhere in the Big Ten, they're not very athletic and can't shoot too well. Haha, when your a basketball team that lacks shooting and athletic ability, your usually pretty bad. I just laughed out loud when I read that for some reason. -
Mets looking to deal Milledge/Heilman?

We should actually use all of our money to scout Latin America and have a rotation of 5 Francisco Liriano's, IMO. -

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) I feel like screaming FIRE WAINWRIGHT!!!...but they'd probably just make another s***ty hire anyways... Bring back Joey Meyer, he's tearing up the D League as coach last I heard. -
QUOTE(ptatc @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) The Ichiro bid really backfired for Seattle. You aren't really comparing the 2 are you?? Ichiro plays 5 times as much as Matsuzaka, the bid wasn't anywhere near this egregious (and the contract wasn't nearly as crazy as this one will be), and to say that is really beyond apples and oranges. Just throwing out 50 millon dollars up front because somebody might be a stud is stupid ass business.
