  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) Reyes is absolutely filthy. If he never pitches against us again, I'll take it. Yikes that was not fun, he was like a freaking righty Johan.
  2. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) I bet Ozzie would of left Freddy in the ninth That would have been bad. He was running out of fuel, and the middle of their order was up. The clear move was to put in Jenks, and he showed why.
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) How far did Thome's shot travel? 7,148,925 feet.
  4. Tonight's game proves once again why W-L among pitchers is overrated. Reyes was amazing tonight......HOWEVER YOU GET A BIG FAT s*** FILLED LOSS FOR IT KID!! CARDS=SWEPT!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  5. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Not really. She's been sporting that "unattractive look" for a while now. No need for green.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Can we say...Forza Italy Indeed, now I go to my traditional rooting for my country of heritage since the U.S. lost portion of the World Cup.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) Yeah Zach Zaidman was just on B&B saying it is officially official. Seems Dave Duncan was a little exra pissy when Zach tried to ask him a question, perhaps the demotion of his son is just adding to the horrible series Dave is having. Duncan blows. His pitching staff can't get us out, he's all pissy and defensive of his own son, and now he's an ass towards a guy with simple questions. Between Duncan this series and La Russa's blind defense of Mark McGwire, I've lost a lot of respect for the Cards coaching staff. Still great fans, but their coaching staff can go away.
  8. QUOTE(CardsJimEdmonds15 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) The Cardinals will activate slugger Albert Pujols from the disabled list before tonight's 7:05 CT matchup with the White Sox. Mark Mulder heads to the DL to make room for Pujols, who returns from a strained right oblique muscle. Anthony Reyes gets the start. Full story > That's the 2nd NL Central pitcher in a week to go to the DL due to "sucking at his job" (Glendon Rusch did earlier this week).
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) IBB, IBB, IBB Done Yep, and their lineup loses Edmonds tonight so not much harm done doing that.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) ....just as the Astros come to town, nice. We wanted media attention, we got it. There is no such thing as bad publicity, as Ozzie, the Sox, AND Marriotti are learning this week.
  11. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) Actually, he agreed with Phil Garner (Astros manager) who says Guillen needs psychological help. Garner was the same guy who was throwing chairs and s*** during game 3 last year, keep in mind.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) Mariotti on Arount the Horn says the gay community is "calling for Guillen's head." Somehow I doubt this. Often when people speak in generalities they're wrong. I can't speak for the gay communtiy, but can anyone honestly imagine people absolutely livid and shaking their fists at the thought of Guillen calling Mariotti a ***? People are sensible. Most are looking at Guillen and realizing he's an ignorant boob. I'm confident Guillen will do something with the gay community to help his image. And even if he doesn't, I don't give a f*** if the gay community doesn't like Ozzie. As a matter of fact, I don't give a f*** if our own fanbase doesn't like Ozzie......he may be an insensitive bastard who is wrong with what he says, but I don't care, as long as we're winning games. Call me ignorant, I don't care.
  13. QUOTE(holly wiggins @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Ozzie in sensitivity training classes -- oh my! Just picturing that amuses me greatly. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The quotes from that would be priceless...
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) When Pujols reaggrivates that injury immediately after torching the Tigers as part of a 3 game sweep, they'll be regretting this move. Correct!
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) Sporting News has these lineups in Cards SS Eckstein CF Luna 1B Pujols 3B Rolen RF Encarnacion LF Taguchi DH Spiezio C Molina 2B Miles Sox LF Podsednik 2B Cintron DH Thome 1B Konerko RF Dye C Pierzynski 3B Crede CF Mackowiak SS Uribe Their lineup still f***ing blows since Edmonds is gone. Reyes better throw a hell of a game. Oh, and don't pitch to Pujols. Ever.
  16. Drill Pujols in the poohole with the very first pitch. Send the bastard a message, I have no problem with drilling the other teams best player when no warnings are issued (ie: nobody on our team is suspended). QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) That would mean the Cardinals would need to make 2 roster moves today instead of the 1 to bring up their starter, IIRC. Maybe Edmonds hitting the DL after last night's concussion? Just guessing. He also needs surgery.
  17. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) 2nd goal for the chubby Ronaldo. 4-1 Brazil Chubby Ronaldo is going to be by himself as the all time leader in World Cup goals by the end of this tournament, if not game. Aussies and Croatia tied at 2, great game.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) Anyone think Ghana has a shot against Brazil? Not at soccer. Brazil was just messing around, and then Japan made the mistake of scoring late in the 1st. Brazil responded with a goal right before and right after the half, nearly just scored a 3rd, and is dominating play. They can turn it on and win against whoever they want, whenever they want.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) Um, Ozzie only got one game per David Schuster of the Score. Ok then, no Marriotti suspension. Good.
  20. Ozzie's suspension is obviously longer due to the Marriotti comment, that's where the precedent is....they just added a 2nd game for the *** comment. IMO.
  21. GREG ODEN!!! *clap X5* Great news, #1 pick and Oden are as good as the Bulls.
  22. I'm sure glad we were "real men" and countered in the beanball war, unlike last week. Sure we have a pitcher and our manager suspended for a couple games, but at least we followed baseball code and have our pride.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) Aaron gets about as good of reads gap to gap as anyone in baseball. He has problems on the short ball which is why I said Brian is a bit of a better cf but it certainly isn't that huge of a gap imo. Basically, you're calling aaron a very average cf which isn't true at all. He catches everything he gets to, has decent speed and does well to turn on the jets once he has a read, has a very good arm, and is smart enough to know where and when to throw the ball. Those qualities make you a well above average center fielder in my book, however he has 2 weaknesses, which are the short ball and his initial read on the ball (I don't consider his speed a "weakness", it's just BA has very good speed so he's faster). Rowand is a very good CF on defense, however Brian is a great one with a lot more God given talent, that's all. (And I'll drop the "bad reads" part of this, since that argument is impossible for either of us to win).
  24. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) I don't think that what he said was particularly offensive, but he seems to have a tendency to open his mouth and say particularly bad things that will lead him on a path to get Rockered. I think he should be taken to the woodshed now, to get him off that path. If Ozzie had used the N word in describing that Quite Frankly dude, what would you have said? To be honest, the two words ARE equal in their connotation. I actually agree with you on part 1, except I dunno if "woodshedding" Ozzie will do any good...he is what he is and I think he'd quit before he'd change it. As for part 2......I won't go there since I disagree with the equality of calling somebody a *** and calling an african american the n word.
  25. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) This is absolute bull. How can you make that claim? Watch the replay of even the face breaker catch he made earlier this year against the Mets, he had a TERRIBLE read on that ball. Same goes for the catches he made in NY that got him on the map last year. Rowand was a very good fielder because he caught it if he got to it, but his terrible reads and not great speed made catches Anderson makes look easy very hard for Crash.
