  1. Wow, Eyre with a huge breaking ball, borderline 12 to 6 ish right there. Better watch out for that. Brian swings through a fastball halfway into the LH batters box. Fastball inside, 2-2. He better not walk him, with the mighty Pods on deck, that would be asking for trouble. Swings at another one about a foot outside, fouls it off at least though. Ball 3 up high, that will give the runners a head start. Grounder to short, inning over.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Man, I hate Scott Eyre Scott Eyre and Bobby Howry can both die, assholes. I hope we light them both up this weekend.
  3. Well I guess Widger is our leading candidate to be the DH if Thome needs a day off.
  4. Widgermania!!!! 5-2 good guys. 2 out hits will getcha into heaven biatch!! Widger looking like freaking Vlad today hitting these s*** pitches. And here comes Gardenhire, Scott Eyre's crazy brother will be the new pitcher.
  5. QUOTE(shaneomacfan @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) Yes we do, with Jon and Pods leading the way, and yes I'm a 20 year old girl Haha even girls I know that know nothing about baseball talk about all the hot guys on our team, so I suppose it is true. As long as it keeps people interested, whatever works. Juan hits it back up the middle, fancy little barehand catch by Castillo and a heck of an effort, but Juan beats it. 1st and 3rd 2 out for Widgermania.
  6. 2nd hit of the day for Joe. Thatta boy. Baker reminds me of Silva, strike after strike after strike, all very hittable pitches. Thatta boy Mack, back to back singles and here comes Juan.
  7. Jeter and A-Rod aren't 1/10th Uribe and Joe are on defense Hawk, but our 2 aren't 1/10th of those 2 are on offense. Not sure how this came up, crazy day games. And I really hate Torii Hunter, even if that was an easy catch.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) We know all the young ladies love Joe Crede. The young ladies (well I guess not young, the late teens and early 20's ones I'm friends with) love the Sox in general. We have a lot of "hotties" on our team apparently, not that I'd know. It's not a Sox game until Hawk says something that makes me respond like that.
  9. Lew Ford takes one of the ugliest swings I've ever seen and fouls it 3 rows back to make it a 1-2 count. And on 2-2, Ford takes a breaking ball and for reasons I don't understand is called a ball. Ford rips one to Crede, inning over. 4-2 Sox heading to the 5th. Freddy made a s*** pitch to TorII, but he's been pretty sharp overall. Get 2 or 3 more and we got this one boys, get at it.
  10. QUOTE(Allsox @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:23 PM) Can the Sox pitchers just plunk Hunter everytime? I'm sick and tired of watching this guy kill the Sox while he hits .240 against everyone else Well he didn't do s*** at The Cell a few weeks back, and is hitting .400 or so the last couple weeks.....so it's not like he's just picking on us. And he also makes a few great catches against other teams too, it's just the whole playing them 19 times a year thing that drives ya nuts.
  11. Wow that 1-1 pitch to Morneau was filthy, not sure where Freddy found that pitch. And on 2-2, Morneau grounds out to Crede.
  12. Every home run Garcia gives up is on a hanging breaking ball, and it always goes over 400 feet. At least he's not cheated, ah well all that does is match The Widge.
  13. That ball Pods hit was THE DEFINITION of a seeing eye single, just about an inch past 2 diving defenders, a true sign of how red hot he is right now. And damn Thome just missed that one, although it's pretty spacious out in the CF area of the dome, that's probably 2 rows deep at The Cell.
  14. I still think Robertson blows, however I think Maroth and Bonderman are for real, and Rogers is still a solid veteran and Robertson is a decent bottom of the rotation guy. Combine that with those giant guys throwing 98 outta their pen and the Tigers lineup and you have a threat IMO. Should be a hell of a race .
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 14, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) What does that have anything with the underated tag? Nothing at all. Ahh YASNY, brilliant comments like that are why your one of the top dogs and moderators around here.
  16. He comes out to chat with Buehrle, and on the NEXT PITCH is an inning ending triple play. Talk about a pitching coach, he comes out there and says in his NY accent "alright Mark, triple play time", goes back to the dugout, and on the first pitch a triple play occurs. I know you all will say "nobody is the rally Crede" and all of those things, which is true.....but Coop is a close 2nd IMO .
  17. I figured he'd start hitting again (although he's REALLY hot right now), but Pods also looks to be gaining some speed out in left field and he's finally figuring out with this lineup, that he doesn't need to steal 60 bases, but rather pick his spots with steals and make sure to just make the pitcher aware that he's out there on 1st base. He's been great the last few weeks, and he's also on pace to draw more walks this year that last, another great sign.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 14, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) HAS to be in the top 10 for most underrated. Dye never gets talked about, even by most Sox fans, and he has done huge things for this club. Other than the 31 homers last year, 6 for 14 and World Series MVP, and another very good start this year (which should continue).....along with solid defense, what has he ever done for us?
  19. We won tonight, and I still wish they'd blow that damn place up.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Reconstructed inning. Single out Single out Single -- Run out ---------- End of inning ------- Theoretical start of second inning. Double Double -- Run Single Single -- Run out out One of the deficiencies in the Earned run stat is it completely overlooks situations like this where the pitcher is REALLY REALLY bad. You bring up a valid point, however if the plays are made on defense and that inning ends, who's to say Buehrle doesn't settle down and pitch fine in the 2nd. Obviously a vet like Buehrle shouldn't get rattled after things go bad and are bizarre like that, but that 1st inning was SO weird and I'll give him a pass, especially since he settled down afterwards.
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Only one stat matters. Indeed, what did tonight's game send our Pythagorean W/L to for the year?
  22. Mark moved to 4-2 with a 3.42 ERA on the year and we are now 6-2 in games Mark starts (we beat KC 3-2 in a recent ND for Mark, and in the opener Mark only pitched 4 innings). I can't wait to see him when this "slump" is over. Yeah you can say the ERA is deceiving since he gave up 7 runs in the 1st tonight I guess, but Mark could have easily been out of the 1st without anything allowed if not for the sidearm throw to 2nd (although he did it, but you see my point). That is all.
  23. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 14, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Damnit, I don't know why I get sucked into this s*** all the time. Anyway, how exactly did he rip the organization again? I'm still waiting for somebody to explain this to me. But let's say I agree with you for just one second. Are you a part of the organization? No. You're a fan. Therefore you shouldn't be offended. Until Frank starts ripping Chicago and the fans (something he's never done before), you've got no legitimate beef. I'm not offended, he wasn't saying anything about me, however for Frank to go out like a baby towards the organization that brought him up, paid him and treated him like a king, and won him a world series ring while he couldn't walk.....was a bit sad. And if you don't know what specifically what he said about the organization, then you clearly werent' paying attention. And yeah I talk a lot about it, simply because I'm baffled at the Frank defenders. You can defend his numbers as a player (which need not be defended to be honest), but his personality is indefensible and I can't believe people try to do it anyways.
  24. I wonder how long before Silva is out of the rotation and Liriano is in. Silva had a lucky season last year and it's showing right about now, while Liriano can actually get people out and has major league stuff. I hope they keep throwing him out there since he will continue to be killed, but they can't be THAT dumb.
