  1. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 19, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) No, but Jiggets daughter is a very good looking model. She was on that channel 1 news thing when I was in HS.....what a babe. I think she works in Boston now or something like that.
  2. DJ is our best guy by far, but IMO Kasper and Brenly are better than Hawk and DJ overall, even if I like DJ the best out of the 4. *fire away and call me a Cubs fan* lol
  3. Somebody will hit 2 home runs today for us. Who? I'm not sure, but somebody is going yard twice.
  4. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 19, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) How much did you pay, and where did you get it? I want one of those 70s button-down cauliflower blue colored jerseys. Any idea where I could find one, other than an auction site? High school graduation gift, so I didn't pay and I don't know where the person that got it for me got it from.
  5. I have a 1917 replica wool jersey, but I'm not pulling that badboy out until Sunday. Damn that jersey is awesome though.
  6. That roadtrip was a joke, but luckily so is the team we play agianst this weekend. Let's get 2 out of 3 or sweep this s*** boys.
  7. I couldn't believe Terry wasn't T'd up and/or kicked out at the time. During the scrum after jump ball 1 late in the game, he definitely punched Finley and Finley nearly went off, saying "HE PUNCHED ME!" twice before being restrained by teammates. This was the correct move, Terry is an idiot, and damn it sucks for the Mavs.
  8. I wouldn't touch that bet, as I think .284 is right about where Crede's average will end up, somewhere within 10 points of that either way at the most. Too close to call.
  9. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Good for Pujols. The media tries to destroy half of these players careers just to sell a story. And while it might not mean much to you, Im sure it means a lot to Albert when people demean his accomplishments with no proof. Just like it probably annoys Contreras and others when people constantly accuse them of lieing about their age. First of all, I doubt Count even knows his real age, and it's not his fault if that is indeed the case. Second, some of the stuff the media does is witch hunting, but the court documents and info from them that I read with my own eyes make it painfully obvious Bonds is completely guilty, and if somebody could read all of those things and still think Bonds isn't proven to be a cheater, than your obviously reading with your eyes closed.
  10. The question is (and I'll put Jenks weight at an even 300 pounds)....what will end up higher when the regular season ends, Jenks weight or Pierre's on base percentage? Jenks has a big lead right now.
  11. The smoke and mirrors are starting to blow up for Todd Jones. He was lucky to get that save today, great play by Granderson, the only MLB player I know of that went to UIC. The problem with the Tigers is that even when Jones explodes and loses his job, they still have some giant men that throw about 100 in that pen, and one of them will just become the closer and do a great job.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 18, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) y? Sorry I'm late, but the reason Pierre is terrible is he has absolutely no power, can't throw, gets terrible reads in the outfield, doesn't walk, and is now scouted so his batting average sucks. But Dusty loves him since he's fast and makes contact.
  13. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 18, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) I did grow up there. I was going to games at old Comiskey and Wrigley before you were born. I also had a gun stuck in my face while being called a "white motherf***er" in Chicago Heights back in high school, so I'm well-versed in Chicago-area race relations as well. In case you hadn't noticed, there are a lot of "rich white people" going to Sox games. Lots of corporate Republicans in the skyboxes too. Many of my black and Hispanic friends from back home are Cubs fans. If you're looking for racists in this country, you're not going to find many in either ballpark. Fair enough. Also true. I had my reasons for my comments, and if you knew me you'd get it better. I was probably not accurate though for people overall, so I apologize in that respect.
  14. Let them have their over their head hot streak now, they will still only be tied for 1st with us after today.
  15. Welp the bullpen comes in and the first batter hits a homer off of Will Ohman, make it 5-0 on the homer by Anderson. And lol, Tony Womack this March said that "on base percentage doesn't matter", so he'll fit right in on the Cubs between that and his age.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) haha well you're still up on me. I'm still thinking Detroit is going to win the series. LeBron at home makes me think Cleveland will win, plus they might have Larry Hughes back. However it's a must win, this is their big chance, because NO WAY they can go win game 7 at Detroit.
  17. QUOTE(WCSox @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:48 AM) Do you have data to back that up? :rolly The vast majority of Cubs fans are not racists, nor are Sox fans are not inherently "more open to different kinds of people" than Cubs fans. The only difference between the two is that Cubs fans are willing to put up with more crap from their team. Go to a few Cubs games, go to a few Sox games, grow up here, have friends who like each team......I don't have specific data, but Sox fans are much more racially tolerant than Cubs fans. Cub fans really fit the "rich white people" profile often times, and also have a lot of older fans. And if you are looking for racists in this country, those are the 2 directions you are going to look. That's all I'm saying.
  18. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) I bet you weren't thinking this 3 games ago, haha. After game 1 I wasn't, but after the Cavs nearly rallied to win game 2 I had a funny feeling this series would get interesting. However, I was shocked the Cavs won a game at Detroit, that was why I didn't "have the balls" to pick the Cavs, I didn't think Detroit would lose at home.
  19. I think being a Cub fan is just a disease, no different than any other disease. Also I would assume their is a direct correlation between depression and Cub fanitis.
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) So now expressing an opinion around here is being "high and mighty"? GMAFB, STFU, and have a nice day. And damn, if expressing an opinion (right or wrong) made you high and mighty, I'd run this damn site....so obviously that's not true.
  21. The Dodgers have a ton of young guys and budding stars in their system, so that's why they didn't go more all out. I thought Colletti did a nice job of balancing spending the dough to improve his team while still leaving spots for the young guys to come up and have a chance to play at.
  22. Wow, what a f***ing band of thugs the Young family is.
  23. Players always defend players it seems like with only a few exceptions, so I'm not surprised. If I thought Albert actually thought that about Bonds, I'd rip him....but since I think he's just trying to be nice since he's a class guy, I'll back off.
  24. Cubs fans are not racist, however Sox games and Sox fans (as well as our organization) are more open to different kinds of people than the Cubs are. I'll just leave it at that.
  25. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 7, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) Oh, and I think Cleveland vs. Detroit will be a good series. Cleveland won't win, but they will make it a decent series. Ugh, I should have had the balls to just pick Cleveland outright like I wanted to.
