  1. Victor Zambrano for Scott Kazmir might be the only really good trade in Devil Rays history, but damn what a trade it was. I believe it was actually one of Minaya's first moves as GM of the Mets, oops!
  2. I hope the winner of the Suns/Clippers series enjoys the ass kicking they will receive in the WCF. I think the Clippers will beat the Suns, the Suns still play no defense, have no size, and the Clippers are better than the Lakers and won't fall apart and choke. I love watching the Suns play for entertainment value, but it's not winning basketball at all.
  3. Well at least the Cubs were shutdown and lost to a real pitcher (Jake Peavy) tonight, 2-1 in 10 innings. Although they did give up a 10th inning walk off HR to some backup catcher the Padres picked up off waivers.
  4. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 5, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) hopefully we win this game, im going today, it should be a fun night. (hey does anyone know what the age limit is for kids to get in free? or do they go by height?) I believe the kid has to be shorter than the height of the turnstyle walking into the ballpark to get in free. Or at least that's how most parks do it that I'm aware of, but then again I don't have kids.
  5. Pierre is playing like Corey Patterson, only with no arm and no power. That isn't exactly helping their cause, before his 4 reaches in 5 plate appearances game last night, Pierre had an OBP under 300.
  6. Elarton vs. Garland is as good a pitching matchup as the Royals could come up with against us. Hopefully we win tonight, because if we do this has sweep written all over it.
  7. As long as we keep taking the walks like we are now, we'll be more than fine on offense. Even if we go through a "power outage" or two, runs will be scored if that many guys are on base.
  8. Show me a great offensive team that doesn't rely heavily on walks and homers, because I'm not sure it exists.
  9. Gardy is really weird with young position players for some reason. He really shuffles them in and out of the lineup and the kids never get a rhythm, it's almost Dusty like (and having guys like RonDL White and Batista this year doesn't help).
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:34 AM) The D-Backs are a REAL sleeper team right now. They've got a real deep lineup, good infield defense up the middle with Hudson and Counsell, and Webb and their late inning pitching has been good so far. And they've got lots of prospects to trade at the deadline if they wanted to make a run, but I wouldn't do that if I was Josh Byrnes. All true, and they play in the worst division in baseball as well, which doesn't hurt.
  11. Is this related to the fact that the Bulls may not be back at ESPN Radio next year (with the Sox gone of course already), and thus they are putting a very good show in the time slot they normally play in to try and grab listeners?
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) Rowand got about as good of reads as anyone, Brian doesn't play as deep and is faster, no doubt. He might be a better defender but he certainly isn't ten times better. Rowand is a Gold Glove calibur defender, to be honest my statement is more of a compliment to Anderson than a diss to Rowand. If Aaron can hit .300 (I say he can) and play that kind of defense that he does now, he will make a couple of All Star games for the Phillies.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) No such thing. Well Anderson gets better reads, doesn't have to play as deep, catches balls in front of him, is faster, takes better angles, and has a stronger and more accurate arm. Other than that, Rowand is right there with him. Rowand right now is obviously a better player overall of course, but Anderson is a better defender in his sleep and if he can ever figure out how to hit, will be a better player.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I hope to god that they stay where they are and dont wake up but I definitely have a ton of respect for their organization. Hopefully they continue to suck ass though. Their entire team is pretty much 1 big weakness other than their closer and #1 starter. They aren't a threat at all, I hope the Twinkies enjoy 4th place. I'm glad to see it.
  15. Well Anderson is about 10 times the defender ARow is....when Brian has seen some more MLB pitching and has experience at the plate, and ARow isn't on a hot streak, maybe some minds will be changed.
  16. I'm so glad the Bulls got rid of that cancer Tim Thomas, Lord knows we couldn't have used him. I don't care about all the "chemistry" and "practice" bulls***, he's a 6'10 talented player and the Bulls could have used him. Nobody will question Skiles or Pax for some reason, but this move was completely stupid from day 1 (or at least I thought so) and we see it again tonight, 21 and 10 for Thomas.
  17. Haha I was kidding btw...and the only reason I know we were 21-7 after 28 last year off the top of my head is I was at game #28, a 5-3 comeback win over the Orioles.
  18. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ May 4, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) i think prior is going to be awesome on a different team, im telling you someone is pulling his strings to sway to not play. Even if he changes teams, Prior is still one of the biggest pussies in sports and will need to overcome that before he does anything.
  19. Very nice to see him doing well, hopefully he keeps it up (although it won't be very noticed since Philly BLOWS).
  20. As I posted in the other thread. Opponents 44, Cubs 5 since Saturday. Lee isn't THAT important, the Cubs are just a bad team in a bad league. Wood will be back soon apparently, but he's a ticking injury bomb and Miller and Prior keep having setbacks.
  21. Since Saturday: Opponents: 44 Cubs: 5 Even for them, that's amazing suckitude.
  22. We were 21-7 after 28 last year, we clearly need to pick up the pace here.
  23. Tyson Chandler a wuss? No Tyson Chandler bad? Yes
  24. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 2, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) "When you start recruiting in the month of April, you are obviously a little behind the eight ball," Sampson said. "I told our coaches, let's not just find the best player, but let's find the best combination of student-athlete, player and person. Those are the kind of people in the long run who will be the best for you, and that's exactly what we have." heh 1. So he doesn't want the best player? Yeah that's great to hear I'm sure if your an Indiana fan. 2. KELVIN SAMPSON wants the best true student athletes?? :rolly
  25. What a gutless 4th quarter. The Bulls weren't hitting shots all night, but kept fighting....but for some reason they gave up in the 4th quarter, which you don't see too often from this team. Argh, Bulls will have to battle just to win in 2 nights and then the Heat will hold court in game 7 even if it comes to that. Damn, what a blown chance, if only a few shots had fell early....
