  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) I don't think they're burned out at all. It's not like either pitched an insane amount of innings last year. Personally, I don't think Politte has pitched as bad as his numbers suggest. His stuff has been there. His location has been the problem. They'll both be fine. Cotts will be fine, just off to a bit of a slow start. Polittle has just been SO bad, I worry if last year was a fluke for him....
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 05:35 PM) Saget was a dirty, dirty f***ing comic before he sold his soul on FH and AFHV. Yes sir, and I'm surprised here....I thought everybody knew that. His version of "the aristocrats" joke is notorious as one of the if not the single dirtiest, and his comedy in general was disgusting before he ran for the green in the late 80's and early 90's on those 2 shows.
  3. Umm Buehrle is our 2nd best pitcher, and Johan is the best lefty in baseball. But at the same time, for 1 night Mark can duel with Johan, and hopefully our superior offense can get some runs.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) Good point, I apologize. No problem, anytime. Not so fast. Maybe we can get Buehrle on his game again against that still poor Twins offense, get it to the 10th 0-0, and beat their bullpen.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) We should just go 9-1 all the time in our last 10. I'm pretty sickened by your low expectations for this team. If Javy wasn't freaking tipping his pitches Friday, I'd be 10 wins in a row. 9-1 in our last 10 is only acceptable for those once in a while occasions where we just get our butt kicked from inning 1 through 9.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) It's amazing to think that this team could EASILY be 14-1. That's the sign of a team with great talent. No doubt, and we still aren't playing all that well in several phases of the game yet. This team has scary good potential.
  7. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) Any chance Baltimore can beat the Indians tonight? Or are we going to have to settle the division battle the old fashioned way? There is a chance. Rodrigo Lopez pitching for the O's, he will twirl a good one sometimes, and Westbrook is pitching, and he has his nights where the sinker doesn't sink. Plus, Cleveland scored 17 last night so they are due to score about 2 this evening.
  8. So Scott Elarton is 0-4 with a 4.07 ERA. Bet he wishes he was still in Cleveland....that 0-4 might be 4-0 with that offense.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Ya, you should be fine. Ok thanks a lot.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) They're everywhere. I would say about row 17ish is when you have to start worrying about them but they really aren't that bad. At worst, if you get obstructed by a pole, you'll have to move your head a bit to see the whole field, it's really not bad at all. EDIT: LOL, ok I can't read obviously. For some reason I thought you were asking what section. But anyways, ya it's about row 17 I believe. Ok, so if I got row 14 seats i'd be safe then? Just making sure.
  11. What row are the poles at upstairs. For instance, what row would I have to be in to be above the poles and have an obstructed view? Thanks.
  12. 9 out of 10!! Thatta boy Javy, well done Juan, Scotty, and Jenks, way to f*** yourself a few times Royals. Day off, then Johan vs. Buehrle Friday! Bring it.
  13. A bit too interesting for me there at the end, but Uribe has it and.......... 9 out of 10!!
  14. Whoa, Sweeney with a skud missle right to Crede, and Costa does a great job to get back to 1st and keep it alive for Mieujrwouerwaericz
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) No, you don't put your future ahead of the present when you have a world series caliber team, that's not smart. Small market or not you don't go trading your 1 or 2 starter when you have a real good shot at at least making the playoffs. You don't start rebuilding in a playoff year. Well if they dump Zito, they still have Harden, Haren, Blanton, Loaiza, and Kennedy can move to the #5 spot (he's been very good out of the pen), plus whatever they get in the Zito trade and a few arms on the farm that could come up and are ready IMO. It's not like trading Zito would be giving up on this season or anything.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) Orioles' outfielder David Newhan is on the DL with a broken leg. No big deal, the Orioles lead the world in crappy outfielders, they have half a dozen of them (well now 5 with Newhan hurt), and will survive this injury.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) Am I the only one who is thinking that he seems to have a little "extra" movement on his pitches this year? He's apparently added a "screwball" to the arsenal this season. Whatever the hell that means.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Best #5 pitcher in baseball He's not our #5, Garland is (and no, I don't know or care what that goofy depth chart on the team site says). Javy may be the best #4 in baseball though.
  19. Well Javy gave up a hit to lead off the 9th, would the same thing have happened had the Royals not got that s*** hit earlier? Sadly we will never know.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) Let Javy try to finsh it. How cheap was the 1 hit? This is the only park in baseball where the ball doesn't roll foul is how cheap it was. Like I sad a couple times already, it's one of the VERY few times where the Sodfather's style hurt us.
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) Cliff was our best pitcher against lefties last year. Might as well let him work the whole inning. Last year really doesn't mean s*** at the moment, the fact that Politte couldn't get his grandma out does.
  22. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) Um how can you say that? In an election year the last thing you want as a DA is a controversial case that you may lose. The thing the DA wants most is for this s***ty case to go away, and a bright shining new case to show up with great evidence and an assured conviction. The statement this is only about being re-elected is very misguided in my opinion. He's in a highly majority african american voter district, and this case is the black stripper vs. the rich white guys from Duke, no matter how else it may be portrayed. There is a reason lack of DNA evidence all of a sudden means nothing when it comes to this case.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) Last time we were up 4 runs going into the 9th, Thornton came in. And the tying run came to the plate with the bases loaded, which is why I want us to get a run here before I'd start messing with the pen.
  24. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) Bring in Cliff at the end. We gotta score at least 1 here so a grand slam won't tie it before I'd do that.
  25. With the way things have gone overall, I must say I honestly believe Coop when he says Javy was tipping his pitches in the 5th inning against Toronto. Apparently they got that fixed in a hurry.
