  1. Technically a scorless inning of work for Boone, lol. And I still say Anderson catches that double.
  2. Bleh, Anderson catches that. Ah well, maybe we can get a big inning, and if not we can still win the series tomorrow. As always, big to win that first game of the series.
  3. The tights are worn as a way to keep the legs from cramping up, not as a fashion statement. If they were just some stupid fashion statement, I'd agree with the NBA, but it's not so I don't.
  4. The fact that he was hit hard and struggled isn't what bothers me, that happens. The fact I didn't see him hit 90 once all game is what bothers me. Hopefully this was just a bit of a dead arm period or a bad day, because Freddy without a low to occasionally mid 90's fastball isn't going to work IMO. Hopefully his velocity is still coming back, but of course this is a concern considering all the innings he's thrown in his career, especially last year.
  5. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) His fastball tops off at 120mph and he dresses like a gladiator. He does indeed dress like a gladiator. However his fastball is much faster than 120, as the whole reason nobody can hit it is the shock of the sonic boom it causes.
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) It shows disrespect for the American flag when it is used as an object to harm people. I guess liberals can understand that better. As an example, there are plenty of hate groups that have wrapped themselves in the US flag and used it to intimidate anyone who doesn't think like them. I do not like seeing the flag of my country used that way. Fly it with dignity and respect, or don't fly it at all. I see them being dragged on the ground, tossed in people faces, snapped at people like whips, and get rather upset. If someone wants to use that as an example of a liberal defending banning the flag, so be it. Maybe conservatives, like whitesoxfan101, don't mind the flag being used that way, but I do. I believe it is banning the disrespectful use of the flag, not the flag itself. I agree with this post, but I just wish some people would admit that this specific instance is completely stupid. The fact that many extremists groups on both sides wrap themselves in the flag makes me sick and the fact that it works makes me even more sick.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) The business of politics. What is so funny, is the GOP would be doing this if it was a Dem. Same response, and lemmings will actually think this is important to our nation. That's the reason there are a lot of people like myself who are annoyed and disguisted with politics. If a party would do something beyond "the business of politics" and actually try and get something done, they'd have my vote.
  8. He's kinda like Jesus, only better.
  9. Nice job by Bonds trying to be defiant and picking the syringe up. We still know you juiced and are still on HGH, ass.
  10. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Great news. Hopefully Hendry wants Baker back as badly as he says and gets it done, I'd love to see those 2 bumbling idiots stay together for several more years.....although my feelings for the Cubs aren't hate anymore since we won it all. Now, they are simply fun to laugh at.
  11. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) Good God, you just reiterated what like a million other motherf***ers have said, word for word. :puke Are there a bunch of robots posting on soxtalk, or is it just me? Yep, we are all stupid. Just like Tyson Chandler proving b****es wrong.....oh wait, you were even smart enough to remove that from your sig. When Frank is injured within a month of now, make sure to stick with your boy this time at least.
  12. lol some of the true die hard liberals will even defend American flag bannings since our flag in it's own country scares people apparently. Pathetic.
  13. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060404/ap_on_go_co/delay That article tells me all I need to know about how pathetic both parties are. It's already a giant smear campaign for each party to try and get their brainwashed extremist that seat.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) HOLY s*** THOSE PLANES WERE LOW I bet those pilots got some s*** for that, no way they shoulda been that low.
  15. Florida woulda been a sweet 16 last year and that's it. Congrats to them on winning it all though, so much for it being a football school.
  16. Pretty amazing how famous you can get by wearing a headband and high socks and being fast. There wasn't a day in his Illini career where Dee Brown was the best player on his own team, yet he's won all these awards. He was great for the school, but he's one of the most overrated college athletes I've ever seen, probably top 3.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Remember, in that lineup, he doesnt' have to do all that much. He could produce less than we're hoping Anderson will do in Chicago, and he'll have done his job: bring Beckett to the Red Sox. Agreed, but that doesn't change the fact that the post steriod Lowell is a pathetic shell of his former self when he had the needles in his ass.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) I agree with the whole article. Well done piece.
  19. The banners blow away those tiny flags, which are hard to see in many parts of the ballpark anyways.
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) That Albert Pujols guy can play baseball. And Mike Lowell goes yard. Nice. Agreed on Pujols, Lowell still sucks.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) Mike Lowell looks like he's lost 100 pounds. Boston isn't going to enjoy the steroidless version of Mikey. That is going to be a disaster in a hurry.
  22. The thing people seem to forget is AJ hit about 50 points below his career average last year and Dye put up about career average numbers for when he is healthy. Nobody on on offense really overperformed to be honest with you, the only "luck" we had was our pitching stayed healthy, and that isn't as much luck as it is building a staff of pitchers who don't have arm problems.
  23. They lost 3 good bullpen arms, 2 of their best starters, and one of their better everyday players. We added Jim Thome, Javy Vasquez, and 2 damn good and versatile bench players in Rob Mac and Cintron. Clearly the fact that we got better and they got worse after a year we went 14-5 against them and won the Central by 6 games makes Cleveland the favorites.
  24. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) Please don't start with this garbage already. You should know better than to start posting this crap during the first game of the year. Crap would be we're in trouble, the season is in danger, we suck, etc.... This is fact. Just like it's fact Buehrle is a great pitcher, he just seems to lose focus as soon as he gets a lead, particularly a crooked number lead.
  25. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) and all you people who think "others" are a threat to our country, this political correctness bulls*** is the real threat. amen.
