  1. Mason has missed a few very good looks early. They can't be doing that....
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) Just do all your recruting on mondays. What he said. And also focus on only a couple or few prospects at a time, and make sure they have at least significant interest in your school.
  3. UConn has a significant size advantage at every position. They should destroy George Mason inside, the Pats have gotta hit a lot of 3's.
  4. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) And I think we saw the real Carlos Guillen last season after the roids from 2004 wore off. There's no way he's a 20 homerun shortstop. Maybe not, but he also had a .320/.368 average and obp in 87 games last year with 15 doubles. That's pretty damn good. Oh I can tell you people value solid OBP, lefty hitting 1st basemen with power. Problem is, when you have swings with as many holes as Choi and Pena, your going to have a ton of strikeouts and unproductive/easy outs. That's not a good thing at all, and isn't a stat you can really track unless your a hardcore moneyballer.
  5. Gametime in D.C. LET'S GO MASON!!! *clap clap clap clap clap* George Mason in the Final 4 would be the coolest thing in college basketball since God Shamgod.
  6. Maybe we should just let everybody throw complete games like in the ALCS last year.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) Inge is nothing special. He just hit some big homers against us last season. He's very versatile, and kills us. That infield in general is sick, Shelton is going to be a monster, if Guillen is healthy he's an all star, and Polanco is a very solid player.
  8. With Alford seemingly out of the picture, the only mistake I think the Hoosiers could make is hiring Few. His teams have a history of getting caught with their hands on their throat in the tournament (remember, the elite 8 run in 1999 was with Monson as coach), his teams play s*** defense, and he has no midwest ties. That sounds like impending disaster to me.
  9. Beilein would be a GREAT hire. Every guard in the midwest would want to play that crazy 3 point shooting style. If he could just recruit some bigs that could actually handle the Big 10, yikes....
  10. QUOTE(bulokis @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) Wow. They had Munson and Pena in the corners and I thought they would kill the sox for a long time. Shelton and Inge are going to be a b**** for a while, but your right about what I THOUGHT Munson and Pena were going to be.
  11. I remember when he was the next big thing in Oakland and how he'd make people forget all about Jason Giambi.
  12. LaMarcus is soft like tissue paper. Congrats to LSU.
  13. That was the worst basketball game I've ever watched, including JV women's high school ball. I wish I could wash away the memory of this game ever happening.
  14. I'd honestly rather be raped than have to watch that game again.
  15. If my bracket were a person, I'd be dead.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Statheads eat babies too. Yeah, statheads absolutely HATE teams with good pitching and great defense. I mean, look at Oakland. Awful pitching (err, wait), and a bunch of fat-men who can't play defense (oh, wait, that's wrong too). :banghead Oakland really hasn't built a team with any sort of good defense besides making sure the 1B could pick it until very recently. It's something Beane himself has admitted he's had a change of philosophy in. And I assume your a stathead, do you consider the Sox title legit? Your square root victory theorum says we were lucky and will suck this year.
  17. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/5444368 Good to see he came to his senses and came back to Pitt. Or are they f***ing with you yet again?
  18. The statheads will never like us. We pitch great, play great defense, and win 1 and 2 run games. To statheads, 1 and 2 run wins are a matter of luck so to them our triangular pythagorean square root theorum record was really 71-91 last year since close wins don't count. Statheads think they are infallible, when in reality they are pretty damn clueless and closed minded to the fact teams can be tough mentally and win close games because that is how they are built. Maybe if we make it back to back these people will shut the f*** up, but even then I doubt it.
  19. For some reason the UConn/Washington game gave me the urge to bump this thread. Was it anything more than karma getting Washington back since they didn't deserve to even be in this game? We'll never know, but the subject isn't going away, even if I'm now long over what happened to the Illini. Could Illinois still have beat Washington? Yes. Could Washington still have beat UConn? If Romar wasn't an idiot at the end of regulation, they DO beat UConn. But at the same time....these refs aren't bad, they are something even worse, and it looks a bit crooked. And it's a bit sad teams have to win big tournament games now IN SPITE of the refs being stacked against them.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 01:41 AM) You're spending to much time on soxtalk now, it ruins lives. Ha I'm yet another victim. :headshake
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) It happens to all of us. I usually get f'd over every year kind of like you did this year, that's honestly one reason why March is so awesome, these games are just absolutely psychotic. I'm not sure exactly why but my luck has been different this year and we'll see if it lasts but it's nice for once. Anyways, you're in college, I'm sure you can find something to do to get your mind off the games. Of course. The weird part is I'm too good at this, I've won significant money in this thing in 2001, 2003, and 2005. I've won 3 times and i'm 20, a lot of ppl don't do that their entire life. Ah well, whatever.
  22. Why the f*** would Dixon leave a place like Pitt where you can recruit so well with that brand new arena, being out east, and being in the Big East....for ARIZONA STATE?!?!?!? Am I missing something here?
  23. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 01:35 AM) Yup, before uconn inbounded the ball i said wash should foul williams once he gets over half, but nope. I want to know why nobody ever does it. It's SUCH an obvious choice, and yet time after time you see teams get burned by not doing the obvious. If Washington just fouls Williams, they are in the Final 4. Instead they got a long flight home. If I were Romar, I wouldn't sleep well for a while.
  24. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) You need a beer or something...i know we all want our brackets to do well, but chill out a bit. We don't want you to die. BTW, neither bc nor villanova deserved to win that game, bc with turnovers, nova with poor shooting. Haha man tonight cost me a free couple hundred bucks that I only needed a trip to mcdonald's worth of money to qualify for. A couple of good bounces and I'm happy as hell. If BC and G-Town would have just gotten killed, I'd be in a much better state of mine and more accepting. Same goes for if my bracket would have just crashed and burned the first weekend like it usually does in even numbered years.
