IU Coaching News
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) And now the Fox station in Indy had an exclusive saying that IU was talking money and contract length with Mark Few. I wouldn't understand that. Few is a poor defensive coach and has no midwest ties, a double red flag for a high calibur Big Ten school like Indiana.

Monson not expected back at Minnesota
Bryce Webster is going to be a star for Minnesota, although he might pull a Kris Humphries and leave after a year or two. Other than that, I think Minnesota might have some issues with talent.

Cyclones now getting some better news....
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) McDermott will do one hell of a job there imo. I agree, I'm just giving Heads a hard time.

Huggins to K-State?
Whoever gets Huggins gets the top 2 players in the HS class of 2007 in O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker, probably gets 5 star 2006 7-2 recruit Jason Bennett from Florida, and maybe some others that aren't known yet. Huggins is a piece of s***, but he knows how to win games so schools, ESPECIALLY ones desperate for a winner like K State, will overlook it. Sad but true.

Official NBA Discussion Thread
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) They have a very good base with Felton, Okafor, Brezec, Wallace, May, and the mentioned top 3 pick. They really need a sharpshooting, athletic SG to run with Felton, Wallace, Okafor, and Brezec in the starting lineup. Agreed, they really need a big athletic 2 guard and wing player, as well as another legit big body inside, as their only true center is Brezec and he's their only player who's legitimately taller than 6'9. Brandon Roy, Rodney Carney, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay....any of those 4 names would really help a team that already has quite a bit of talent.

Cyclones now getting some better news....
I would say McDermott will do a very good job, but this is Iowa State so heartbreak seems inevitable.

Huggins to K-State?
Big conference school, desperate for attention in a state where they are now overshadowed by 2 powerful schools in basketball. Makes sense.

Alford to interview with Missouri
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) How did this thread become about me? Grudge much? No, I simply laugh when overconfident know it alls are proven wrong. Agreed, this is great news.

Alford to interview with Missouri
Where is Gene Honda Civic to tell us that Alford to Indiana is still a lock btw? My guess for the final 2 for Indiana as of now is Gillespie from A&M and that Whitman guy that Mark Cuban likes. And I find it pretty funny that Alford wants to dump Iowa for Misery....says all you need to know about the Iowa basketball program.

Top Rated Farm Systems--Fox Sports
I'm just going to enjoy the fact we had the top ranked major league system at the last week of October last season, and we made that system better this offseason.

NFL Com. Tagliabue retiring in July
He won't be hard to replace at all. I don't understand why it's turned into a dick sucking fest for Tagliabue since he retired, as he wasn't 1/10th the commish that the man before him (Pete Roselle) was. All he basically had to do with the great things he inherited is not screw it up, and he did do a good job of that. But the talk of him being that great commish and everything is just silly, anybody could have done the job he did based on what he inherited. The one thing I give him credit for is keeping labor piece, and even that isn't a big deal. The players union in the NFL is a joke, and they aren't the reason that deal barely got done, the reason for that was the greedy portion of the owners. /mini rant

Teen critical after Edens crash
I had a friend pass away my senior year (2 years ago) in a car accident, it's almost impossible to deal with since your only 17 or 18 years old and feel invisible, as Flash mentioned. Also as Flash mentioned, it's just so sad seeing the family and very close friends of what is really just a kid who died far too young. The young lady in this case sounds like she had her life in order, hopefully she's in a better place now. RIP.

IU Coaching News
QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) Majerus would be cool. He did well at Ball State and Utah. That would be a BIG risk though since he could decide to retire and just eat at any moment.

Nationals playing hardball with Soriano?
QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) [/b] There's the rub. I don't think that would happen. I agree, I doubt they would let it happen. If anybody could make Soriano look like the good guy in this senario though, it's Jim Bowden. Bowden makes Steve Phillips look like Albert Einstein among GM's, and we know Steve-O currently doesn't have a job due to what he did to the Mets.

IU Coaching News
No Alford to Indiana? Sounds like the idiots aren't running the show, well done IU adminstration. Now if Crean is among the final 2 and Mark Few isn't, they are clearly onto something.

Alford to interview with Missouri
Hahaha Alford at Mizzou? That is priceless, he's a lot like Quinny Poo only he can't recruit. At least he will be $ in the Big 12 Tourney so the fans will continue to adore him.

Severe "Cyclone" in Australia....
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 08:41 AM) DBAH0? DBAH0? Haha he's in Melbourne. Based on where this hit, that's like a hurricane hitting Miami and us wondering where a member from New Jersey is (I think Felix is from there actually).

Brian Griese
Hey Orton lovers, enjoy 3rd string! Nice signing, he's a solid backup.

Nationals playing hardball with Soriano?
As big a baby as Soriano is, Bowden is an even bigger dumbass. He made the trade without even mentioning to Soriano he was going to move him, and now he's going to put an already rich as f*** man on the DQ list. Boo-hoo, Soriano doesn't care, he's already rich. Bowden was pathetic in Cincinnati and here he goes again.

OFFICIAL Crazy Upsets Thread!!
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) Just want to point out, as the lone person who actually backed this west coast basketball, that I may know more that some of you thought I once did. That said Iowa f***ing CHOKED. They lost on a lucky shot, but it was there own damn fault since they blew that big league. If you had told me we'd get 28 less free throw chances, I'd have said we lose by 15. So there . And there still won't be a single team from west of Austin, Texas in the Final 4.

Joe Borchard Traded to Seattle
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 10:35 AM) I'm kinda sad to see Borch go, as he was a truely nice guy, and I really wanted to see him feed some crow to some of the more bitter anti-Joe crowd. Hopefully he does something in Seattle, and we can here about how Kenny was stupid to make that deal... Joe is a nice guy, but he happens to suck at baseball. I'm not too worried about us regretting letting him go.

Joe Borchard Traded to Seattle
Goodbye and good riddance LTP. It's not like Borchard or Gload were worth s*** in a trade anyways, hopefully Gload has a nice year for us.
