Goodbye and good riddance LTP. It's not like Borchard or Gload were worth s*** in a trade anyways, hopefully Gload has a nice year for us.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_Larry Hmm.....sounds pretty scary, although I hadn't heard about it or seen it posted here until now.

Other than the fact I have Memphis winning this region, my Oakland bracket looks as bad, maybe WORSE, than the REAL Oakland.

Rush returning to Kansas for Soph Year

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) just wondering how do you know so much about this guy, do you live in Dallas?? No, but Arthur not being as good as Rush is pretty common sense to somebody who follows recruiting. Arthur is like Wright without 1/8th the passing game. He needs work, no matter how much he wants to be in the NBA. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) Another bit of news that THE Iowa State University could have gone without. I don't think KU getting Rush back has any affect on Iowa State, who is bad, lost their 2 best players, without a coach, and heading for probation/maybe worse. /mean, sad, and true. //poor Heads -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) I think DA wants to be a one and one also. That's cute, but he's not half as good as Rush, who's borderline good enough to be a one and done. So that's not something KU should worry about with Arthur. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:43 PM) Oh stop with that. I know he was held back, because they could not find any records of the school that disappeared off the map. Also I think the future of Slim Shady Darrel Arthur has to do with Rush. If rush leaves, Slim comes. You could be better off with Slim. Rush is gone as soon as he's a 1st round lock (after next year the latest), whereas Arthur needs a bit of work so he will stay a few years. -
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Don't get me wrong either, I can't watch women's basketball outside of UNC playing. They play a very similar style to last years UNC men's team, loaded with talent, brilliant PG, and fastbreaking everywhere. That and I actually LOVE watching Ivory Latta play, she's got game, man or woman. Exactly, top 10 women's teams are like that, fun to watch. Outside of that, I can't watch it either to be honest lol. One day women will all be that good though and many will be able to dunk and such, and if I'm still alive, then I'll watch more.

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Rush attended quite a few high schools, and there was some concern he wouldn't even graduate. There were a lot of rumors about him attending the IMG Academy, etc. One of the schools he went to early on in his high school career no longer exists. And yet he's able to get into Kansas with little problem. What a shocker. -

QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) You guys see Doyel's article on CBS.Sportsline.com about the Hoyas being able to beat ANYONE? I'm digging the national respect but I feel like whatever Doyel says, it eventually turns to s***. If the Hoyas play their game, I think we can beat Florida. Comments? The only reason I didn't pick them to go farther than I did (I have them losing to BC in the elite 8) is their lack of big time tourney experience and lack of depth. Other than that, they can play with anybody. -

Only reason he'd come back is he isn't a 1st round lock, regardless of what KU fans say. This decision is subject to change if his draft status improves. -
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) You guys wanna hear a joke? Women's basketball. I'm not the biggest fan of it for the most part, but the top 10 teams in terms of talent are good enough so that it's definitely entertaining to watch. The day will come along where the women are all at that level though, and at that point I'll watch a lot more. With that said, there are better places to hate on women's hoops than a discussion thread about it. Anyways....the interesting thing was that the 2nd dunk by Candace Parker today was just on a basic backdoor cut play out of the half court offense, which I don't think I've ever seen a woman do before. That's kinda the next step for women dunking it, we've seen the whole breakaway dunk thing, but to be able to just do it out of a halfcourt set is impressive.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) And, it's WNIT pool time. ISU vs. Illinois couldd be a possibility. That'd be neat. Haha, I know a chick going to Marquette next year, good times.
-
Candace Parker dunked on Army twice today. I don't know if it's because she's a local girl (Naperville) that can throw it down or what, but to me she's kinda a babe.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) Seems to me if Illinois would have shot better than 39% from the field and 28% from 3-point range, they would have won. Don't see how the referees are responsible for them not making shots. I'm sure the conspiracy goes something like this..... "Let's hope Illinois shoots badly so we can screw them in the end, because we all know Washington is a much better TV draw." Oh and while we are at it, let's make sure North Carolina and Kansas get knocked out early because they have no national drawing power either. Makes sense to me! I'm just going to ignore that sillyness. You are ignoring the entire thread with that post. -
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) I was never a fan of this league this season, and one of the reasons I'm doing pretty well in my bracket is for this very reason. With six teams in to start and none making it past the first weekend, was the Big Ten the most overrated conference in basketball this season? Without a doubt, and I'm normally the ultimate Big 10 apologist. I've said for a while now that no Big 10 teams will survive the sweet 16 (even though I picked Indiana to make the final 8 because of their bracket), although I must say I'm surprised that none even made the sweet 16. I didn't pick the Big 10 to do very well either so my bracket is ok in that regard too, although Iowa and Indiana burned me (had Iowa in the final 16, and Indiana in the final 8).
-
I got 22 of the final 32 right and 10 of the sweet 16 right. 6 of my elite 8 still remain (with only UNC and Indiana gone) and my entire final 4 is still alive. My entire Minneapolis region is still perfect except Montana/Nevada and my Oakland bracket only had 1 sweet 16 team right, but that's Memphis who I picked to win the region. I have all 4 sweet 16 teams right in Minneapolis, 3 of 4 (damn you Iowa) right in Atlanta, and I got 2 right and 2 wrong (damn you Illini and UNC) in D.C. My elite 8: LSU vs. Texas in Atlanta (still possible) Memphis vs. Indiana in Oakland (go Memphis!) UConn vs. UNC in D.C. (go UConn!) and Boston College vs. Georgetown in Minneapolis (still possible). My final 4 is Texas, Memphis, UConn, and Boston College....with UConn beating Memphis for the title. All in all......not great, but it could be worse.

Ray fouled again, 7.1 left. First free throw is.....good. Villanova up 3....the 2nd would just about put this one to bed. And it's good, Nova by 4. Long 3 rims out, Villanova survives. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 06:03 PM) Look -- I didn't mean for my post to piss off Illini fans. It's just -- I see guys like SnB and Krush (who are the two biggest ILL fans that I know personally). And I know that they're probably just as pissed off as you are. Unless I'm really missing a big thread, however, I've seen very little b****ing/complaining from either of the two. You've gotten your point across, everybody here knows how you feel. Be done with it. JMHO. I was done with it several posts ago when I said come tomorrow morning I'm dropping it, however a few posters have chosen to keep the thread going, which is fine. Oh, and that post you quoted wasn't a joke, if some scandal was uncovered tomorrow that involved things I said in post #1 of this thread, I'd still get no love . -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) 2nd Round: #6 Indiana over #3 Gonzaga #7 Marquette over #2 UCLA #7 Wichita State in S16 (by beating #15 Winthrop though) #7 Georgetown over #2 Ohio State Hey not bad. I got 2 right (although Wichita State beat Tennessee, but close enough with how close Winthrop was) and would have had a shot at 3 for 4 if not for 41 to 6. As for Marquette....oops!! Although UCLA did narrowly survive Alabama, who I almost picked to beat Marquette and UCLA . -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Yup. The game was fixed, the refs were paid to make every call for Washington and against UofI. This will be uncovered tomorrow morning, and you will become a national hero. Ugh even if that happened i'd get no credit.
