  1. Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State are going to be back and looking for revenge next year. I wouldn't want to be playing either of those squads.
  2. Giving up a 2nd rounder for Culpepper >>>> Giving up a 2nd rounder for Feeley Good gamble by Miami, I'd rather have the QB with a bad knee than the QB with a bad throwing shoulder. Daunte to McMichael and Chambers could be fun down there.
  3. I am personally protestant, however I am a fan of any religion that teaches good morals and has a sound base. One of my best friends is actually muslim and she has better morals and is a better person than most people at my own church. And with that said, scientology, a fake cult with no base and no followers other than the crazy in Hollywood who have no morals, can suck my dick and the sooner it dies the better.
  4. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) I'm still not convinced Mr. Rush will be back at Kansas. If he's a lotto pick, he's gone. I'm not sure if Rush is a lotto pick though.
  5. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) You sound like you know about Warren. Kind of surprised cuz they don't get a lot of recognition in the big papers. You're right about the height. Warren has a 6'1 forward in Mitchell Moore, who guards all the centers and he just pushes em around. He is very strong and athletic and will probably contain Zack Kelly for th most part. He is alos playing football and Iowa State next year. Bembry will probably be on Scheyer. Bembry will be able to stay in front of him, but not sure if he is tall enough to contest a lot of his shots. I'm hoping he will. All the things writers and people knock the Blue Devils for, they over come. The best junior you may not have heard of in the state is Ceola Clark. Does a great job moving without the ball and if he isolated, does a great job creating space and knocking down mid rang jumpers. That will be a mis match for GBN tonight. GO BIG BLUE! I read a lot sir, especially about local hoops, so I know quite a bit . Plus, I was at the doubleheader at Northwestern, and was amazed by Warren even though they lost. They did well to handle the height disadvantage they had, especially against somebody as good as Carlwell (and now of course, PE is gone). Also, I really like Marcus Lewis on Warren, he's a solid player and even though he's coming to my school (NIU) to play football (and will be a damn good WR), I wish he'd consider trying hoops too, haha. Kelly is a decent player, and will have height on Moore, but Moore is used to being the shorter guy and he will do a good job (I wish NIU had gotten him for football too lol). Ceola Clark is the best kept junior secret in Illinois, and one of the best in the country. NIU is recruiting him hard, and I hope we can steal him next year like we did Cody Yelder this year in recruiting for hoops. And also, apparently the winner of this game is actually going to play Simeon downstate, I had bad info. Warren OR GBN vs. Simeon would be a lot of fun, but I honestly would like Warren's chances better. Rose would do whatever he wants on GBN, wheras Warren at least would be athletic enough to play him somewhat adequately.
  6. He'll dominate next year and go pro, but the other 4 guys in that class are going to be kicking people's ass for a few years.
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) Looks like a photoshop job to me. The word LATINO doesn't look the same as EXPRESS in size or angle, and the area around LATINO is the only part of the bus that is clean looking. My friend took the picture with me standing there looking on. I can tell you with 100 percent confidence that it's real.
  8. Rose isn't at the level of Gordon in terms of mid range to 3 point shooting and isn't nearly as far along in terms of being disciplined and well coached, but damn he's got a hell of a skill set. I hope what I heard a few weeks back was WRONG WRONG WRONG, those 2 in the same backcourt would be frightening, especially since Rose is a bit shorter at 6'2 and a natural point and Gordon at 6'4 is a natural 2. And they are both just unfathomably athletic. Oh, and Carlwell ended up with 14 and 10 tonight. His guards are pathetic, but you can see the potential. He's a legit 7 footer on the floor (aka in shoes lol) and has a great skill set and a nice touch on his left handed shot. Can't wait to see him in Champaign next year. I like how Thornwood follows up a 5 OT win with a 3 OT win to get downstate. That's kinda cute, except for the fact that they will lose by 15 to Simeon if they are lucky. Rose is obviously a stud, but all those guys he gets open looks for MAKE their shots, they have a 6'9 guy Johnson who can guard another teams big man, and the Wolverines undersized big man Tim Flowers is a solid player. Btw Brian, I think the reason Warren gets no respect is that they are so damned short and play almost a 5 guard lineup. But I will say this right now, Warren is going to beat GBN tomorrow and people shouldn't be as shocked as I think they'll be.
  9. I like the way UCLA plays defense, and if anybody from the west is going to make a run it's UCLA....but I just am not sure if they have the offensive weapons yet. I think within the next few years Howland will lead them back to the Final 4, but not yet....they don't have the mix of offensive weapons to go with the defense yet. I really like Farmar though, and any team with a really good point guard that plays defense has a shot.
  10. I swear Fazekas HAS to be european. He's a complete pussy (SEE: Augustine vs. Fazekas tape, circa March of 2005) and is still quite skinny. Boston College would eat him alive even worse than Augie did last year. Charlo is a solid complimentary player I agree, but he needs Fazekas playing well to be a factor. The Nevada guards are VERY talented, but equally inconsistent. Oh, and before somebody points out the GREAT game (yes it was great) Fazekas had in a close win at Kansas earlier this year, mind you that was the same Kansas team who got it's ass kicked on the interior by Misery earlier this year. s***, put me in the post against Micah Downs and Christian Moody and I'll score 30 points.
  11. I think the committee made it pretty clear among the higher seeds that OOC strength was a big deal. Illinois played (and beat) tourney teams in Xavier, North Carolina, Georgetown, and Wichita State....but besides that, played absolute poopie. Combine that with a day 1 loss in Indy, and a home loss to Penn State, and that's why we are a #4 seed. I think we should have been a #3, but if you want to know why we are a #4, there you go.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Utah State is better than you think. They are a very solid mid-major. They are a solid mid major, but they got a bad draw. Their athletes aren't in the same galaxy as Washington's, and they are just going to get run right out of the gym.
  13. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 12:41 AM) You're a Southern Cal kid, how good is UCLA? They are actually a very good defensive team who isn't always consistent offensively, which is pretty ironic since they play out west.
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner for Javier Vasquez's nickname. I saw this pic, and it just spoke to me. Yay Javy!! LATINO EXPRESS!!!
  15. Another fun fact, Lunardi actually got 2 teams wrong this year for the first time ever? I always here he gets all but 1 teams right every year, but this year Air Force and Utah State got into spots he had Cincinnati and Florida State getting. Pwned, although I feel kinda bad for him. This is the most poorly done bracket of all time, so for him to only miss 2 teams isn't that bad. He was way off on the seeding, although really he had the seeding right and the committee did it wrong. Maybe we should just have Lunardi do the brackets every year from now on.
  16. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) It was just out there, I tried to resist. But I couldn't do it. As for Kansas, even though I have them in the final 4, they do have an amazingly tough path. Having to face a talented, hot team like Pittsburgh in the 2nd round almost seems unfair. It will be if Pittsburgh gets by Kent State, which isn't far from a lock. And if Kansas gets Kent State in the 2nd round, that won't be too easy either.
  17. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) Good man. Personally, I feel as if this team is one of the most dangerous in all of college basketball. With yesterday's performance, and pretty much this weekend in general, it's become very clear to most analysts that this Boston College team is for real. Some people here are comparing Boston College this year, to the teams of the past who struggled mightily in the tournaments, and to those people, I have a few things to say. First and foremost, depth has been a major problem with this team. Last year, a seven man rotation was used, and for a team that bangs as much as they do, wear and tear had been built up after starting the season with twenty straight. This year's team has a nine man rotation with a Sean Williams whose rustyness from starting the season halfway through has subsided, the extremely athletic and high flying Marquez Haynes, the upincoming Tyrese Rice, and the future Craig Smith in Akida McClain. And that's just referring to the bench. The fact that Craig, Jared, and Luis rarely see pine, and the fact that they have aged not only on the court but off the court aswell, and I am not even referring to the progress they've made on there own, but as a whole entire unit aswell. I don't know what to expect from this team, to be honest with you. The bias in me wants me to say they can be National Champions, but then foul trouble for Sean Marshall and seven JJ Redick three pointers later, and my Eagles are done. In all seriousness, bias aside, this team is very capable of making a run deep, and are far too good to not be one of the remaining sixteen. Whether you choose for them to upset Villanova, who I think they match-up well against, or not, is your choice. /end rant I picked BC to make the Final 4, which is a bad sign for BC fans.
  18. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 09:57 AM) That Kansas team last year just wasn't very good looking back on it. They had talent, but they couldn't put anything together. Simien was their only player who was doing well. Giddens had loads of talent but apparently thought that he was a sharpshooter and wouldn't go to the basket most of the year. Lee (or whatever the other guard's name was, slipping my mind) wasn't playing well at the end of the year because of an ankle injury. Miles was pretty solid, but he was a pass-first PG without a whole lot of options. Seriously, Christian Moody was a starter on last year's team. This team is clearly playing a lot better. They're a lot more athletic and they have a lot more scoring options. Their only real problem is youth, but they are really on a roll right now. Which is why if they go to the FF, I wouldn't be surprised. They have a lot tougher road than people think though.
  19. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) go eagles. Outside of Illinois and then Bradley and SIU of course, I will be rooting for BC. I love your style of play, your players and how hard they play, and Al Skinner, who IMO is the 2nd most underrated game coach in the nation to Bo Ryan.
  20. I got punk'd by my friend last night....she told me how good Chris Stewart has looked this spring, and I had never even heard of how. How embarassing!
  21. First 2 games of the AA Supers tonight.....a nice little doubleheader at UIC with Thornwood vs. Homewood-Floosmoor followed by Proviso East vs. Simeon, with the 2 winners heading downstate. It could definitely be debated that the winner of game 2 is the favorite to win the whole damned thing.
  22. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 07:13 AM) Well i just got power back springfield was hit hard. Spent most of the night downstairs, driving home was crazy, trees torn down all over, power lines in the strret a few street lights knocked down.i guess walmarts windows were blown out and stuff was stolen, good news is only 1 reported missing right now, but the damage is pretty bad. My house is in good condition though. can't say that for most though. Good to hear your ok....if your house is in good condition, consider yourself fortunate. There were 2 different tornadoes in the city limits last night (although I'm sure you know that by now).
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 09:24 AM) It was 2002; IU played them to get into the FF during that run. That's what I said, you clearly didn't read my post correctly .
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 02:52 AM) Too bad he ain't doin jack in the NBA. He's already in Nate's doghouse (hence things must be bad if Steve Blake is startin ahead of ya). Very true, but he's crying all the way to the bank about it with that guaranteed money he has. As for the show, I agree with everybody else in this thread, I enjoyed it and found the fact it comes from a new angle to be refreshing.
  25. A&M and Kent are the 12's to watch......A&M is talented and playing very well, and the Golden Flashes (who you will remember as the team that destroyed your bracket going to the elite 8 in 2002 with Antonio Gates) are a veteran team with the offensive firepower to score 60 points plus on Pittsburgh, and lord knows that's the kind of game Pittsburgh isn't a fan of. Utah State and Montana will both get blown out IMO.
