  1. Hmm, I'm surprised people picked Seton Hall. This was maybe the most obvious game on the bracket in the 6 vs. 11 to 8 vs. 9 range to pick IMO.
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Good lord. Overtime. Come the f*** on BC, you're a final four team. Amen. I can't lose a Final 4 team in the 1st set of f***ing games.
  3. TRAVELING with 4 seconds left!! Smith was dribbling it up for some reason....WTF. Pacific with no timeouts, gotta just figure it out now. Good defense by BC, overtime.
  4. BC for some reason leaves the 1st team all WAC player wide open for the 3 to tie it with 9 seconds left. Sound strategy.
  5. UWM wins, sending me to 2-0 in my bracket. BC looking to ruin that by knocking out a Final 4 team. BC by 1 with 38 seconds left, going to the FT line. Front end of the 1 and 1 is good by Hinnant, 2nd also good. BC by 3. GREAT PASS and a layup for Pacific 63-62 BC, 19.8 seconds left with BC heading to the line. Rice to the line, the freshmen MAKES the front end of the 1 and 1. 2nd is GOOD, 3 point game. FOR THREE, GOOD!! TIE GAME with 9 seconds left!
  6. Wichita State blows out Seton Hall by 20, it's a final.
  7. BC by 4 with 2 min left, Pacific ball. UWM up 8 with 1 min left, Okie ball.
  8. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) The Mega-March Madness package kicks ass. AMEN!!!
  9. Oh, Tigert with a huge hook as the shot clock was running out. UWM by 8 with 2 mins left. Everett misses a 3, UWM ball up 8 with 1:51 left. This one might be over.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) Pods. People. "Damn right, they'll play these games wherever the hell I tell them to".
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) Korea Wins. USA will advance with a win, or a 1-0 loss. Good thing Clemens is pitching, that happened to him at least half a dozen times last season.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) Cuba advanced to the WBC semifinals in San Diego... How many players will they lose to defection? All the ones who aren't completely brainwashed by Fidel. So 1, maybe 2.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Only posted it because I want Illini fans to know I'm picking Washington. Plus they are acting as if its a guaranteed win. Well I know your a bit of a west coast homer AND an Iowa fan, so I'll let it slide . But let me say this, IF Washington gets by Utah State, the Huskies would be the 6th best team in the Big 10 this year. Put that on the floor agianst Illinois, and I think the Huskies best shot would be to show up in Penn State road uni's. With that said, the 2nd Huskies we will play won't be very fun, seeing as those Huskies are going to win the whole damned thing.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) He wouldn't have been doing that with us. We don't have a Steve Nash. He's better than most of the crap we put on the floor these days.
  15. Tim Thomas last night.....10-11 from the field, 23 points. Good thing we got rid of that locker room cancer, his shooting ability and height wouldn't have helped this team at all.
  16. Stinson, Blalock, and Morgan all possibly gone? Damn, that's crazy. Could your 2006 class get out of their LOI's?? No wonder Iowa State leads for the player from that fradulent school boys to men. Look at it this way Heads, you can't be worse than Missouri's 4 player and 4 walk on team next year.
  17. Yeah he's dominated 5'3 kids with pimples. He has quite a body and is damn big for an 8th grader (wow, how gay did that sound? lol) but let's see him do it against people closer to his size. Who knows, maybe he's the next Oden....by the time he's a senior, he'll probably look about 30 like Oden does.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) I am predicting a West Aurora vs. Simeon final. I believe that first half of the bracket is rather weak and West Aurora should make it out of it rather easy but Schaumburg is playing well now and after all the controversy of them getting a #1 seed. All the games in the bottom bracket should be good ones. I love this weekend. AA tourney and NCAA kicking it off. I'm in heaven and I don't have to work. I'm on spring break this week. Perfect f***ing timing. The bottom of the bracket is MURDER. Simeon vs. GBN and 30-2 Marshall vs. 30-0 E'Ville?? I could almost see the team that comes out of the top half stealing the final because whoever survives that bottom gauntlet may be out of gas.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 07:44 AM) You make that sound as if its surprising lol? It isn't, but you'd be surprised how many people that would surprise.
  20. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 07:35 AM) His bat was on steroids. True, he's proving the critics wrong with his spring training bat. Good thing they test for HGH, he can prove he's clean this year as a result.
  21. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) How about "There's no f***ing 'S' in my last name?" True, there is no f***ing s in Vasquez
  22. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) If you were at the HIP...it's Champs. Yep, I got my Jermaine Dye Green Tee at the HIP....they only had them in XXL but luckily I wear my clothes a bit big and have a lanky 6'1 frame, so that is the size I wear anyways.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) If there was any chance he would have passed a physical...Bobby Abreu should be in their outfield or Tejada should be starting at short for the Cubs. There's no way they should have held onto him last offseason. I don't care how valuable young pitching is...it isn't valuable in the doctor's office. There are more than a few whispers that concerns about Prior's health from the other side of trade talks is the reason he's still in Cub blue when he throws simulated towel games.
  24. QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) GBN beats Warren 48-41. I don't know how you guys can really doubt GBN to be honest. The state champ is probably going to come from the GBN vs. Simeon quarterfinal. They were VERY lucky to catch Warren on their worst night probably of the entire season, I doubt they are as lucky when they take on Simeon Friday. R&W, I agree with you to be honest on Scheyer only being an average player at Duke. But then again, I thought the same thing about Redick and look how much he has developed. The current Scheyer is a guy that won't be anything special at Duke, but you never know if maybe he will turn into Redick, Coach K is great with coaching shooting guards. Scheyer is one of the all time great HIGH SCHOOL players in this state though, that's for sure. As for the Elite 8 games, all 4 could be GREAT but for different reasons. The first side of the bracket is the obviously weak one, with Peoria Richwoods vs. Aurora West and Thornwood vs. Schaumburg. The other side of the bracket with GBN vs. Simeon and Marshall vs. Edwardsville is quite a duo. West is a very good team with an impressive record (I believe 28-1) but Richwoods has been playing GREAT ball lately, beating 2 damned good teams in Washington and Bloomington, while getting great play from Justin Dehm and Illini recruit Bill Cole. West doesn't have as much talent as many past West teams, but they are VERY well coached and play sound defense. This should be a hell of a game, I'll take Richwoods in a tight one since I want to see Cole play 3 games this weekend and I'm a homer Schaumburg vs. Thornwood is IMO a matchup of the 2 weakest teams in Peoria. With that said, I think this will be a close game. Thornwood is VERY tough mentally considering their last 2 wins had a combined EIGHT overtimes, and Schaumburg has a lot of offensive talent. Expect this to be a battle of tempo, with Thornwood taking long posessions through Trey Blue and the Saxons trying to run and find Jake Pancratz. I think Thornwood is out of miracles though, and Schaumberg advances. At night, the fun starts. Simeon vs. GBN should be a classic. The 2 matchups to watch are Rose vs. Scheyer (duh!) but maybe moreso Zach Kelley and Tim Flowers on the interior. Both teams are balanced, both have a star at guard and inside, and this one could go either way. I pick Simeon because of the fact that Rose can score just as well as Scheyer, but is also a better distributor and has better shot selection. The winner of this game takes state IMO. In the nightcap, we get a matchup which will be just as good as game 3 (although not as hyped) as 30-0 Edwardsville takes on 30-2 Marshall. The game features 4 players who will be finishing up their freshmen year of Major D 1 ball this time a year from now (Darrius Gaters NIU and Patrick Beverly TBD of Marshall, Spencer Stewart UIC and Dustin Maguire Saint Louis of Edwardsville). This game is going to be an absolute smack down battle, and expect a lot of high wire action and points. Marshall has more balance and weapons however, and going undefeated in AA is just tooooo damn hard, so I got Marshall in a close one. All I can say is the first 2 games and first semi will be very competitive, but the last 2 games and second semi are going to be very competitive and played at a level as high as any HS games played in the country this season. Whoever somehow survives the bottom half of the bracket will win state. I have my money on Simeon, I think it's Derrick Rose's time to shine, but also watch Marshall. I am pretty sure the State Champ in AA this year will be a CPL team.
  25. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) Your dick is dying?!?? Be careful with those unclear antecedents, son. Hahaha I don't check myself well enough on this board. You could find a lot more fun posts with bad wordage like that if you looked. Great catch though.
