QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) Well, after screaming to the Texas fans "We'll be back" while holding a fancy trophy last night in the Rose Bowl, it would sure be one heck of a flip flop. It was an emotional moment. Sean May said he'd be back too after UNC won. It's VERY difficult to pass on that kind of money when your already a college legend and have a national title. But hey, maybe I'm wrong, I hope I am, Vince is a great player and it'd be fun to see him back at Texas next yera.

Carroll and Bush are class.....Leinart is your typical spoiled ass rich OC kid. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) Just a thought after that game... Where does that TE from Texas rate...Thomas I think his name was? Is he a possibility for the Bears? The clear top 3 are Vernon Davis of Maryland, Leonard Pope of Georgia, and Marcedes Lewis of USC. IMO the Bears will try to get one of those guys with their first pick, because they are ALL studs. I suppose Thomas is a guy the Bears could go after later on if they don't take a TE in the first round though, he'll be a first day pick IMO.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Story? Meh idk, USC is gonna win, lets say 32-21 How do you like your crow, roasted or raw? -
Hermanson was my dream date, and I was Esteban Loaiza on the pitcher quiz thingy. Both are now on MySpace, funny s***.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:34 AM) Some of those Texas lineman look real good, I could be real happy with the Bears getting one. I wouldn't mind getting that 365 pound Samoan (sorry, I wish I could use a better term, but that's all I got) from USC. Last I heard (which was in the 4th quarter) he had held All-American Rodrique Wright to ZERO TACKLES.

It would be almost impossible for Vince to not go after tonight's performance. It would be cool if he stayed, but it would just, I don't think it can happen.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) Our road wins include: Army Texas A&M Hardly a murder's row. In fact, I dunno WTF happened against A&M. That Army game was a battle, I remember watching it thinking WTF is Iowa State going to lose to Army. There is something about Iowa State athletic teams outside of Ames that is a disaster. -

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) academics and playing time probably. That would be correct. Also, as silly as it sounds, he can use the basketball team for recruiting, such as "if you come here and help us build the football program back up, you get to play in front of this kind of crowd on Saturdays". -

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) What makes Illini's class top 25?(BTW, I'm an Illini fan). I know about Isiah Williams and that one LB, but outside of that, they really have nothing. What am I missing? Isiah Williams is a stud, Chris James and Marques Wilkins are both VERY good 4 star WR's (EDIT: and 4 star LB Rahkeem Smith, who once upon a time was going to go to Iowa). And then it's depth....there are a lot of solid 3 star players (several of which are almost 4 stars) in a class that has 27 players overall and is still growing. Considering the record of the Illini the last few years, Zook should be given huge props for the class he's putting together this year. -

People that dislike Illinois have to pray the recruiting classes Zook will put together won't turn into wins.....because with the job Bruce is doing, even an average football program will cause the haters to have to run and hide. (And no Heads, this isn't a specific swipe at you, I know you were just kidding as you can tell in my response to your original post). -
If Houston has a clue, they trade the pick. Between Leinart, Bush, and maybe Vince....they could get SOOOO much for that pick, and build depth on a roster barren of talent.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) And cuz he never played at Michigan. I've been to The Big House and The Horseshoe, and it's so much louder in Columbus it's not even close. The Michigan fans don't even pay attention until it's the 2nd half and the game is close. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) Ugh...recruiting. Probably the only time Illinois will see the top 25. So true. I just hope in a couple years the Illini are good enough to go 6-5 and make a bowl, that's all I ask. -

Vince Young pretty much by himself (well as close as you can come to doing it by himself) beat a team with about 3 dozen NFL players and a 34 game winning streak IN THEIR BACKYARD. He's like Michael Vick, only 5 inches taller, 70 pounds heavier, a hair faster, way stronger, and he can throw. To be honest, I hope the kid stays in school, he'd be great to have in college ball next year with his seemingly great attitude and amazing talent. Not the best game I've ever seen, but certainly the most entertaining and one of the best finishes I've ever seen. That WAS probably the best individual performance I've ever seen though by 1 man in any sport, Vince is unreal. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Wow, pretty pathetic allowing a TD run right up the middle when you're just trying to prevent them from converting on 4th and 1 on like the 10 yard line. Nah not really. They cheated everybody right on the line, and if he can get the blocks to get through the line, there is nobody to get him in the secondary. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) She's definitely found the fountain of something... I think the next one to age as well as her is Angelina Jolie. Jolie has a lot of the same facial skin qualities as Madonna did at Jolie's age. LOL.. I went waaaay off topic here. Sorry for the hijack. Feel free to do whatever you want in any thread if your going to talk about Angelina Jolie. She is unbelieveable, I'm not one to condone this sort of thing, but if I were Brad Pitt (LMAO, yeah right..) I'd have ditched Jennifer Aniston too if I had a chance at that. -

QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Texas has a better defense, which should be talked about more. But the thing that scares me about their chances is the fact that Mack Brown coaches them. Well done, hit the nail on the head. Texas IMO is definitely the better team, but Mack Brown is a dumbass, so weird things may happen that shouldnt' as a result that swing the game towards USC. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) LOL.. Kids She's mid 40's and smoookkkiiinnnggg hot!! I pray I look half that good at her age. Yeah, and the bizarre thing about her is she doesn't look fake. You'd figure she'd have had 100 face lifts and botox and all that to keep looking good at her age, but she passes the eye test for being natural. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) I think to care what others think is human nature.. But to choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle because of that is plain stupid. I'll be the first to admit I care a great deal about being fit and thin and I work out and watch what I eat to maintain my body. But I don't starve myself, take drugs, or puke up a perfectly good meal. I work out and eat fairly healthy. There are ways to maintain it without killing myself. It takes work though. It's the morons like this that use the excuse that they are too busy or whatever to do it the right way. There are many females in Hollywood that are thin but do it the right way (Ashlee Judd, Madonna, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner (pre pregnancy she was smoking hot, IMO, and will likely return that way), and many others). I have no sympathy for these chicks. Well said....and I agree on all those women, except Madonna is like 100 so I can't call her hot. -

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Story? Meh idk, USC is gonna win, lets say 32-21 Also I believe I said the Penn St game would be the best somewhere in this thread if I recall Yes sir, this is a matchup of 2 teams STOCKED FULL of NFL players. This game reminds me so much of the Ohio State/Miami title game a few years ago. Two undefeated teams with long winning streaks, 1 of which is in the 30's....2 teams full of studs and NFL players, should be great to watch. And that's all fine and great you said the Penn State game would be the best game, but the West Virginia/Georgia game was the better game. -
If anyone in the Vernon Davis, Leonard Pope, Marcedes Lewis trio of TE's is available....the Bears take one of them. All 3 are STUDS, and the Bears have a HUGE need at TE.

I think Texas may win.....despite Reggie Bush going crazy. This may be a dud, but watch this game, because you'll have a story to tell your kids and grandkids if it isn't a dud.
