  1. Hopefully he does well....Lord knows he will have a good shot at some significant playing time.
  2. Don't play the damn starters. Between that nasty ass turf, the game meaning nothing, and the Vikings playing for nothing and a bad coach (which makes me worry about cheap shots)...it's not worth it.
  3. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) Poor Twinks fans... Owned!!!!! *End overuse of faces*
  4. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) um It should of been more like 4 extra seconds put back on the clock. Penn State didn't get screwed. Trust me I have the DVD of the game and I watched it today. Penn State DID NOT GET SCREWED! I watched the game from a neutral corner, and anybody with 2 eyes could see Penn State was screwed out of a win by the officials. Sorry you don't have common sense, as displayed in more than a few threads about more than a few subjects.
  5. We are going to laugh at threads like this after seeing how good Brian Anderson is.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) I guess I'm just a bit of a purist as I love bowl season. I'd be a lot happier with 15-20 bowl games, tops, with possibly the the top 4-8 teams grouped in two-four bowls that feed into a national championship game. If it was 8, they could still maintain the BCS bowl rotation, and the final four/national championship shouldn't need to be associated with any bowl. I agree, you can have a playoff and a bowl season IMO. An 8 team playoff works perfectly, not too many teams, but not too few (like the plus one). Have the 8 team playoff, which would consist of 7 games. The 7 games can be the "highest quality" bowl games (ie Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, Cotton, Outback, Citrus....or something like that) and for all the other teams besides those 8, just have the regular bowl system with all the other bowls. Something like that could work IMO and would be great for the sport.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Would anyone else like a scenario that has a set number of bowl games where bids are determined by an NCAA committee? I'd like a senario where a playoff decides a true national champion, rather than the 2 best teams from the weak BCS conferences that year playing for the crown every year.
  8. Did Michigan get screwed? Yes....but lest we forget that Penn State was screwed out of a perfect season by the clock operator at the Big House. This is just a case of things being evened out by those b****es known as the sports gods.
  9. If the Big 12 is represented in the 2nd weekend of the NCAA Tournament this year, it would be an absolute miracle. And the ISU win over UNI is simple to explain....HILTON MAGIC!!
  10. The Big 12 is so awful. Iowa State had way too much trouble with Tennessee State, Oklahoma trailed almost all game against Oral Roberts (who, although good, is still a Mid Con team). I honestly think the Missouri Valley Conference is better than the Big 12 this year. The Valley is really good this year and deep, as showcased tonight by undefeated Indiana State falling at home to now 9-2 Wichita State, Creighton beating up on Missouri State in a battle of 2 real good teams, and Bradley with an upset win in OT over Northern Iowa down in Peoria.
  11. I like the choice, one of the few Score guys I actually enjoy listening to. Probably why he doesn't have his own show, that station wouldn't recognize talent if it punched them in the sack.
  12. I think LSU very well may have beat them had they played in 2003. I think Auburn very well may have beat them had they played in 2004. I think Texas WILL beat them in Pasadena. USC is very overrated, and I will stand by that even if they win it all in January. This run doesn't happen if they played in a real conference.
  13. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Didn't Loaiza get ridiculous cash? Unreal. Kenny came through on this one. I think we'll be playing the year out with McCarthy in the bullpen, and then he'll take over when the count leaves. This is the senario i'm leaning towards thinking will happen now. Keep all 6 for another run at the title, then just let the by then at least 35 year old Count leave and B Mac take his spot. But with Kenny, we clearly never know what to expect.
  14. Considering the money pitching is going for this offseason, 3/29 is just an incredible steal.
  15. Consider my mind officially boggled. Great, but shocking news.
  16. The UN has been worthless and slimy for years, and I pray for your sanity if you think otherwise.
  17. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) great thread... Orton gets no credit becuase of the media and fans that think we have Joe MOntana coming off the bench. Look at this team last year with Krenzel and Quinn, same defense, but did they win any games?? The Bears stand today as division winers in largepart to the way Orton handled the offense and did not hand over games to the opposing team. Sexy Rexy on the other hand, will choke in out firsty playoff game. In 6 quarters he already has 3 pics and was a stellar 11-23 against one of the worst defense's in the league. Hope they gets his wing in Canton done soon. to Grossman, the most overrated Chicagoan since Kerry Wood An even more senseless opinion about Orton/Grossman than that of WSJ. Congrats, your an idiot!!
  18. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) I guess you could call it an acquired taste, but I like Scoop. I especially like the reactions arising from simply mentioning his name. The reason his name gets such a strong reaction is he's a stupid, fact ignoring, racist hypocrite. People like him (and Moronotti, although in different ways) are clueless and act like asses simply to get attention because they aren't good enough to earn their attention through good, honest writing.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) YOU ARE ALL RACIST! I hate people like Scoop so much because he's VERY racist against white people, but NOBODY takes him to task because he's black. It should be a 2 way street, white racists suck, but so do black racists, and they should both be treated the same way....like the scum they are.
  20. Scoop needs to shut the hell up and go away. I hate him more than any other sports writer/sports writer on tv/any of that. He's an embarssment to Chicago, his race, his profession, and his name. Have I made it clear how I feel about this f***?
  21. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) I am as heated as ever with Paxson for not bringing in a body at the C slot. Otherwise, we could have put Chandler back at PF by now. Right now, Chandler weighs 235 pounds. Your typical C in this league weighs about 260 to 265 pounds. It's f***ing bogus. I want to see Chandler gain about 6 to 8 pounds this offseason and get up to Jermaine O'Neal's weight of 242 pounds, and I never, ever want to see him play center again. Even Kendrick Perkins weighs like 285 pounds. You can't be banging with guys that have unbelievably gigantic thighs and asses when you're 7'1 at 235 pounds. Maybe we'll need to bring in a C who could score 12 to 15 points a game. Who is that guy? I'm just some random asshole, but if I was in Paxson's shoes, I'd have been all over Zaza Pachulia this past offseason. I am baffled as to how John Paxson can be in charge of putting together an NBA squad. He's clearly a moron. Agreed 100 percent. The Fighting Illini seriously have a bigger and stronger front line than the Chicago freaking Bulls, and that is inexcuseable. The FA market blows too.....I'd like to see us being in a guy like Nazr Mohammed since he can rebound (and we need that desperately) but otherwise, we are going to have to use trades and the draft to get help up front IMO.
  22. Considering these 2 facts.... 1. LeBron would be the 2nd biggest player in our rotation 2. lllinois has a much bigger frontline than the Bulls The Bulls need SIZE up front and DEPTH up front......draft big men with our high picks, sign a big man or 2, make a trade, whatever.....fix the fact we are tiny and can't get a damn rebound or post basket, or else we are in trouble long term.
  23. Come on WSJ, just admit it.....Orton can't hold Rex's jock strap. As soon as you admit it, you'll get a lot more respect, and maybe, just maybe....we might give your b/f Orton his props.
  24. Glad for the win, but overall played like s*** today. Not pretty, but hey #2 seed in the NFC, NFC North Champs, 1st round bye....I'll take it.
  25. Maas has been almost as bad for the Packers this game as Berman was for Boston during the ALDS against us this year. Unreal.
