  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) He did? Nah, he broke the wrist punching that God forsaken wall 2 or 3 weeks before the season.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) I second that. I still think he will put up some good numbers eventually. I honestly think he may have irreversable mental baggage, but Lord knows how many Cubs that looked dead have went elsewhere and turned out good, so what do I know.
  3. I officially hope Corey Patterson becomes a multiple time all star and great player. I enjoy watching these Cubs go elsewhere as "bums" and turn into gold.
  4. I think we are better than Carolina, but I also have a bad feeling the Bears are going to find a way to blow it.
  5. Couple days old, but wasn't posted in here. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cs-06...hool-newspapers Some good recruiting stuff in there, mainly that 4 star OL Ramone Johnson of Morgan Park has narrowed his list to the Illini and Tennessee.
  6. I have officially concluded that there is not a single really good team in college hoops. Duke is above average, UConn might be, and after that is a pile of good teams fighting for position. College Basketball is WAY down from last year, it's pretty incredible.
  7. There is another example of why review sucks. They call it a catch, the replay shows 2 feet down and Chad beginning to turn before the fumble, and the correct ruling is overturned. That's just terrible, I HATE replay.
  8. I can't wait until people find out Vince CAN throw the ball in the NFL. Good luck to him, he's a legend in Austin and soon to be a rich mother f***er.
  9. tOSU and scUM are so dirty......amazing what they get away with.
  10. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) i have read notre dame will move jones to wide receiver. not sure if that's speculation or truth. Between Jones' falling off this year and the fact that Frazier is a STUD, I wouldn't be surprised.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 07:56 AM) http://www.suntimes.com/output/football/cst-spt-dungy06.html I am amazed that more people don't know basic First Aid and CPR. Almost every University offers free or very cheap classes. The Red Cross and many employers have programs. I agree, although I'm not sure how much a difference it would have made here....such a sad story, I feel horrible for Dungy's family, and just as horrible for the young lady friend of Dungy's that found him, what a horrific thing to find after a walk.
  12. I know they aren't lefty, but I for one can't wait to see what Tracey and Baj can do.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) I'm not an Illini fan. But, I'll tell you, for Illinois to hold that MSU team to 50 points is pretty damn impressive and bodes well for another solid season in Champaign. Yeah, I agree. Everybody will talk about how the Illini would have gotten b**** slapped if Dee hadn't gone off, but hey it's a double digit conference win over a top 10 team anyways. Also, I'm beginning to learn with this team 2 things, first they play AWESOME defense, and 2nd they go with the flow of the game and do whatever it takes to win. Although I guess that's the advantage when you have a great coach and 2 senior leaders used to winning all the time.
  14. This man and anybody that agrees with the things he said need to receive "God's retribution" for being an embarassment to the religion that "represent" and in general just being wastes of space.
  15. Great win for the Illini. Other than Dee, nobody showed up on offense, but the defense as usual was AWESOME. I was worried about this game, a lot of new guys who haven't played much (if at all) in their Big 10 debut against a top 10 stud team. It's HUGE to get a win out of this. Hopefully some of the newer guys realize what it takes in the Big 10, and that it was just an off night for Augie. Every game is a battle, but 30 in a row at home, 15-0 overall, good times. The semi-road game against Iowa will be tough, but hopefully we take care of business... our size and athletic ability SHOULD be too much.
  16. GREAT THREAD, wtg Palehosefan. I believe signing day for football is February 1st, I can't wait. Zooker is doing a great job, and NIU as usual looks ready to reel in a top class in the MAC (yes, I know most of you don't care ). Isiah Williams, Chris James, and Marques Wilkins, along with Kyle Hudson, Derrick McPhearson, and Rashard Mendenhall....the future is bright on the offensive side IMO, gotta find some people to run fast and tackle now.
  17. Top 5.....but not higher because of the 1st half. However, that 2nd half was the best and most exciting 30 minutes I've ever seen at any level, wow!!
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Per USAToday, James Dungy hung himself from a ceiling fan with a belt. Sounds about right based on the original descriptions of the incident. Terribly sad though....poor Tony Dungy.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) I don't think a Big East team will get much credit from the voters. What is the schedule next year. I'd agree, except if they are 11-0 (EDIT: I guess 12-0) and one of the only 2 (or the only) undefeated team in America, they will make the top 2. Here is their schedule btw: 2006 Season (12 Games) Currently 7 Home - 5 Away Date Opponent Site Conference 9/2/06 Marshall H C-USA TBA Maryland H ACC TBA Buffalo H MAC TBA East Carolina A C-USA TBA Mississippi State A SEC TBA Louisville A Big East TBA Cincinnati H Big East TBA Rutgers H Big East TBA Syracuse H Big East TBA UConn A Big East TBA Pitt A Big East TBA South Florida H Big East At Louisville will be a VERY tough game, but besides that, what? At Wanny? USF to close at home? Maryland at home to open might be close, but I doubt it.
  20. List of best RB's in the Big Ten in 2006: 1. Brian Calhoun (he'll be back right?) 2. Albert Young (Although not enough people know it yet) 3. Gary Russell (Minnesota might be glad Maroney is going pro) 4. Tyrell Sutton (he'll be much better next year with a year under his belt) 5. Mike Hart Hart was made of glass this year after pulling off the incredible feat of having a really good freshman year behind maybe the best line in college football in 2004 and with Jason Avant, the good version of Steve Breaston, and that Braylon Edwards guy catching passes.
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) WVU at #3 seems like a bit of a reach. Not with that amazing offense and that equally amazing weak schedule. They have an inside track to 11-0 and the BCS Title game if they take care of the things they should IMO.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) At least some of hte people @ ESPN have said that's exactly what they've been recruiting, TIFWIW. Yes sir, Weis is on fire recruiting this year...but VERY few (if any) of those guys will be ready to see the field next year.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) I think West Virginia might be. Pat White has to improve as a passer but if he does that look out. Between the people they have back and the conference they play in, I could definitely see WVU finishing 11-0 and #2 in the BCS next year.
  24. Unless the Notre Dame defense magically finds a bunch of starter calibur players with speed, they aren't going to be the #2 team in the nation next year.
