And even if we were, our high pick drafting record isn't sterling.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) The thing that would really put the cherry on top for me is if LeBron had the NBA draft lottery ball with the giant envelopes in it, and one of them had a blatantly bent corner. I'd actually be sorry I missed it if that happened - there's no way I'm watching the season finale of "LeBron James' Ass-Kiss Rodeo". Haha the old bent envelope. Just like the Bulls "winning" a draft lottery they had less than a 2 percent chance of winning, Tim Donaghy, and games 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals. NBA Basketball: The WWE with less violence.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:31 PM) If we purge our system for a rental, I am going to take a vacation from the board. Haha but would it really surprise you if Kenny did that?
-
The only way i'd back off that statement is if they acquire Carmelo somehow. But that's still very far fetched, and is also not a legitimate thought process to go to New York right now for LeBron.
-
As much as people seem to think Amar'e is something he's not, going to NY doesn't get LeBron any closer to a title than he is in Cleveland IMO.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) lol, might be at a boys and girls club now. either way, it's close to NY, i think that says something. Yeah, it says ESPN wanted it near their headquarters to make such a short notice presentation easier.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) Well, aside from the fact that it's not Allen Houston's mansion, but rather from a Boys and Girls Club. Yeah, people need to quit reading into the location of this thing. You're going to have to wait until the announcement to find out, as painful as that is. LeBron wants to milk every bit of drama out of this he can, that's why even the players and teams don't seem to know his choice.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) You're under-selling the Bucks quite a bit. They won 46 games last year with a rookie PG, Bogut missing 13 games and Michael Redd playing only 18 games. They also went 22-8 after Salmons joined the roster. With Jennings getting another year of experience, a wing trio of Salmons/Maggette/possibly Redd and Bogut up front, they have a legit shot at 50 wins. Considering the Bulls don't have a shooting guard or a legit scoring big at the moment, they're hardly a lock to beat Milwaukee. Yep, I said the Bucks will win the division if LeBron leaves the division and the Bulls strikeout, and I stand by it. If the Bulls made a couple of save face moves like acquiring Boozer/Lee and a decent 2 guard, it'd be close though.

I get the feeling that he was going to stay in Cleveland but Amar'e swayed him, if anything.

Your 2010 White Sox All Star- Matt Thornton

Just for reference, Paulie was in the home run derby in Milwaukee in 2002. His splits that year: Pre ASG: .328/.379/.571/.950 Post ASG: .270/.332/.402/.734 20 of his 27 home runs were pre ASG as well, and 71 of his 104 RBI. -
Yeah I also like the lineup. Which means we'll probably lose 2-1 tonight.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) If I was Lebron, I'd MUCH rather go with the Nets than the Knicks. I don't think most people realize the potential power Prokhorov brings to the table in terms of helping market players globally. IMO, if LBJ wants to be a billionaire, the Nets are his quickest path there. If he wants to go to the Nets, he should just do the deal with Cleveland which he can opt out of after 3 years, give the Cavs a few more chances to win a ring with him, and then go to the Nets when they are in Brooklyn.

Your 2010 White Sox All Star- Matt Thornton

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) Matt Thornton has more value to this club than as the token 9th inning guy. It's sad that baseball has come to the point where your closer, who should be your best relief pitcher, can't come into the 7th inning because you need him to pitch in the 9th. If there is an absolutely crucial spot where a closer needs to pitch, he should be prepared for that and should pitch. As such, it's really not that big of a deal to me that the two best relief pitchers in the White Sox bullpen are not closers. Bobby does a good enough job at getting 3 outs while not giving up the lead that he can hang onto that "guy who pitches in the 9th inning when the team is leading" role. Exactly. We've got two lights out setup men in Thornton and Putz, a very solid one in Santos, and a closer in Jenks who is simply not blowing it when he's in for a save situation. The bereavement thing messed it up a bit, but it all appeared back on track last night. No need to change it. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) "And get Strasburg while you're at it!" Ahh, wish I'd have thought of that first, good thinking!
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Why the hell would LeBron go to New York? Their team sucks, even with Amare. And endorsement money wouldn't be much different than if he went to Chicago. I respectfully disagree with that point. Chicago is enormous, but New York on it's own planet.
-
QUOTE (kane0730 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) From Buster Olney--"one rival executive says the White Sox "are all over Adam Dunn right now." He tweeted this 5 minutes ago. Get it done Kenny! And don't overpay! (That's not too much to ask, right?)
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) As terrible as this sounds, Rose might be too damn stupid to make a sales pitch to anybody. That's a fair point. Although with the way this has gone, maybe the same could be said for the Bulls management team.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:48 AM) Teahen is simply not an option for 2B. They can play Vizquel there, Lillibridge or bring up Hudson...or make a move for an older veteran (like a Grudzielanek type) for only a Type B/C prospect. There's no way, with how he has been playing that they move Alexei off SS to 2B, play Omar at SS and Teahen/Viciedo at 3B. I don't think Teahen is an option at 3B either with the way he defends it. If you're a butcher over there, you'd better be a plus hitter.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Is this true? If we lose out to the Knicks, I'm done. Wow that would be pathetic. They have pure s*** compared to us. But I at least believe it is a pretty place to go play than Miami in terms of a sports and business perspective. But come on, if Amare was enough to convince you, than maybe the Bulls can still wiggle in? And Byron Scott was at LBJ's camp but says he didn't talk to Lebron. That would seem odd. I wouldn't count on Jared Dudley's words as gospel.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) Because s*** happens? Because the system is designed for superstar players to stay at home? Because they all have pre-existing relationships that a phone call from Rose or Noah wouldn't have changed? What if LeBron leaves? That means 2 of the top 3 left, yet the Bulls still failed.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) and you are sure Rose did nothing? Just because he didnt plaster his face all over ESPN and blab on twitter 24/7 doesnt mean he wasnt making calls and recruiting Read the post above yours.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Do we actually know that Rose did nothing? Just cause he's not all over the media saying he's recruiting, doesn't actually mean he hasn't. It's been out there he hasn't done much. I even saw him on an interview on Comcast a few days back saying he's not doing much because the decisions are up to the players.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) I think it's ridiculous to start throwing out "Rose is too shy" as an excuse. So, why do you think the Bulls struck out?
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Reasons Wade/Lebron/Bosh didn't sign with Chicago in 2010: (1) Gar, Pax and Jerry not physically forcing Bosh to sign a contract and/or properly ransoming Wade's kids; (2) Rose being too shy; (3) Benny the Bull not cheering hard enough; Any more? So you think it hasn't hurt us at all that Wade was out there recruiting people to Miami, Amar'e is all over LeBron to come to New York, and our star player is just doing nothing? Good call.

Yeah Marquez has to be coming up for long relief. We don't have a true long reliever as it is (Pena is more doing that by necessity), and Tony is probably unavailable the next few days now. Need another arm down there in the meantime, and i'd guess Marquez will be gone after the game Saturday for Hudson.
