  1. Haha we make 5 errors and win 5-2 in a game that started at 9:30 PM local time. Makes perfect sense.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:14 AM) A certain radio personality said that productive Designated Hitters are a thing of the past. Has he ever posted on this board?
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) you don't get the point that we are in the last 24 hours and are dealing with a decision probably shared with dozens and stuff leaks? The story would be out and widespread if it were shared with that many people.
  4. I'm only referring to Castro by his nickname(s) from now on, btw. Have an easy inning Bobby.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) I heard a rumor that LeBron was eating gummy bears and flashing gang signs with D. Rose tonight. That makes me feel better about our chances. I'm with you on him not going somewhere in which he gets all the credit. It's why Chicago makes the most sense: he'll have a really good team around him, but he gets all the credit if they win.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) I'll take therapist for $300' Alex
  7. Of course, the one time you could argue we should be bunting, we aren't. Smh.
  8. Yeah, nobody could turn down a deal like that.
  9. If Cowley is pimping it, that kind of proves it's a bunch of s***.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:00 AM) Really wish the Sox would kick the tires on Garret Jones instead. No way he'd cost as much as Dunn. Agreed. If we pretend we're the Cubs, they'd probably give him to us in exchange for like a rookie ball backup catcher and 5 dollars or a package similar to that.
  11. Good Lord, even Rios with a near f*** up. What the hell are we doing on defense tonight?
  12. I don't buy it, Newsday. He's not coming to Chicago, but I don't buy that (1) they have the story and (2) he's going to Miami. I'll admit I was wrong and that LeBron is the biggest cop out ever if he goes there, but I still doubt it.
  13. That one didn't look like much of a strike, thanks Eric Cooper!
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:23 PM) He was just setting up Saunders. If he didn't look awful earlier in the game, he would have had to face Shields. He's the smartest player in the history of baseball. Truth. The Bridge has a mind comparable to Ted Williams.
  15. Hunter is 7 for 16 in steals. Yikes, attach an anchor to him. We'll take it though.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) No thanks...I like my corner infielders to have a chance to hit double digit home runs. Yep, our 3rd base options are all either not good enough on defense or not good enough on offense.
  17. Wow, stupid stupid stupid from the Angels. Hate to give up the free run, but could've been worse.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) I'm not so sure about that They're both REALLY bad over there. It's a definite problem.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) This made me laugh We just call him "therapist" in honor of the old celebrity Jeopardy skit on SNL when we're in areas where you just don't want to blurt "the rapist" out loud.
  20. Ramon was charged with rape back when he played for the Marlins and ended up pleading no contest to assault IIRC. He certainly looks like he'd be capable of that. My friends and I call him the rapist, which is kind of mean, but it happens.
  21. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) Miami insiders as well as LeBron apparently flying to Miami tonight to meet with Riley. Wade and Bosh might be at the announcement as well. It could all just be rumors, but the Miami insider has been 100% so far. ESPN actually ran the LeBron flying to Miami news across the bottom line for about 5 minutes before pulling it back tonight at around 9:35. They pulled it back because it turned out to be bulls***, just like most of what they've reported lately.
  22. Freddy has figured out a way to make some good pitches when he's had to.
