Brandon McCarthy To Make Major League Debut
whitesoxfan101 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great work guys. I am anxious to see what is wrong with The Duke, we can't afford to lose him long term, as exciting as it is to have B Mac coming up. -
McCarthy idea-Bmac promoted to the big time?
whitesoxfan101 replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well if B-Mac is coming up, I'd assume he's starting.....but who's hurt? Does one of the Cubans have a blister problem or something maybe? -
I hate that place. It's such a f***ing bandbox, unless the wind is howling in like today.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) It might be. I was kinda young, 11, and don't really remember. I know Ray-ray got a double down the 3rd base line for the walk off hit. Yeah, the Milkman scored to win it. I think it was in the 14th inning actually, Corky homered to tie it in the 9th only to be outdone by Ray Ray.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) My computer is actually right next to my tv. I just had to sit down and take that memory in, what a game that was! I hope they show Durham's game winner next, not a flubs win. Tribune Live starts in a few mintues, so this is probably the last thing they will show. :banghead

Garland looks sooooo young. I mean he's 25 now, and that's young, but he looks like a kid here.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) I was going to make a thread as soon as I saw it on, but I couldn't get away from my tv. What a blast from the past! I was pissed after Magglio struck out even knowing how it ended. That's why having the setup of being able to see the TV from your computer is fun.

Oh that was beautiful. *tears up* hehehe, what a great game to be at.

C Lee 2001 walk off GS vs. Cubs!! They are showing the whole bottom of the 10th (in progress now!)

QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) Anyone know if Bremnly is coming back tomorrow. I hope not. It was refreshing to watch a game and not hear a lot of Pro-Cubs stuff all day. It was good to hear all of Dan Pleasac's comments about our team instead of years past of "Cubs This....Cubs that, which was crammed down us for 3 hours straight!!! Tomorrow's game is on Fox National, so I doubt he would be on there, but yes he will be back Sunday, he was at his son's HS graduation today I believe.

Official NBA Playoffs Thread

It's a shame this game is on so late....what a battle. Sonics up 1 going to the 4th, looking to send it to a 7th game. -
Well Duke for the most part has has VERY BAD luck with Illinois players recently. Thompson ended up at Northwestern, Dockery has underachived badly, Livingston never got there, and didn't Magette even leave after only 1 or 2 years?? Yeah, maybe this could be a blessing in disguise, I never really bought the hype of a skinny white kid from the Northern Burbs being a savior anyways..... If we get Sherron Collins, Brian Carlwell, and then either Willie Kemp or Marques Johnson to go with Richard Semrau, it's a top 10 class nationally anyways, and I think that's what is going to happen.

QUOTE(danman31 @ May 16, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) Scheyer is a big deal because he is the best player in Illinois in the class of 06. It's a test of how Illinois will be able to recruit off that amazing season they had in their own state. I suppose the thinking is that if Illinois can't get the best player in their own state after going 35-2 or whatever then they aren't going to stay as one of the elite teams in the country. I'm not saying I believe that, but it is what it is. Actually, he's not even the best guard in the state, that honor would go to Sherron Collins of Crane Tech, and come 1 year from now, 6'10 big man and freak athlete Brian Carlwell of Proviso East will probably be higher thought of than Scheyer (and Illinois has a great shot of getting both of these guys) but point well taken nonetheless.

Jerry Reinsdorf on Eddy Curry's health
whitesoxfan101 replied to Jabroni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 14, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) I worry that this is JR's spin to resign him and discourage other teams from offering that not quite max contract I doubt it, you don't spin a man's health, ESPECIALLY if it's a heart condition.... I hope he gets back to health.....it would be a shame for his career to end so prematurely. -
As much as I love Jon Scheyer, I also love Marques Johnson, Richard Semrau, Brian Carlwell, Willie Kemp, Mike Conley, etc.... He will probably go to Duke, but we have plenty of other players just as good we are going after, and we will get ours in the class of 2006. IMO, I know I may take heat for saying it, but Scheyer is seen as such a big deal since it's Duke we are fighting for him, he plays for Bruce's brother, and finally, he's the "great white hope" if you will. If we get him somehow, awesome, but if not, no need to worry.

Between those 3, bring me Marshall in a second. We not only need a big body, but somebody that can score some points as well, and Yell fits that bill.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) I don't know if I necessarily like the bunt in that situation. But I didn't say it before the fact, so I'm not gonna b**** about it now. Iguchi putting them on 2nd and 3rd 1 out for the middle of the order, I just can't complain about that. Everett and to a lesser extent Rowand have to pick the runners up. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 9, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) My thought also. The LF seemed to be going back on the ball like it was out. I was hoping maybe it would hit the catwalk. Maybe they blew the fans in, Minnesota style.... -
