  1. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) i honestly think lebron can win a championship there....people can go ahead and laugh at me, but that cleveland roster without lebron is roughly a 35 win team IMO...the knicks won 29 last year and are adding Amare....now clearly its not as likely as if he was a bull, but I honestly think no matter what team lebron plays for, they are instantly conference champion contenders He has NO shot at winning in New York in the short term. They are nowhere near the team Cleveland even is honestly. And I don't buy the Knicks charging hard. That's just to get the NY ratings.
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Allow me to pose this very pessimistic question (I know, surprising): How deflating would it be to lose Peavy for the season after doing so much in the last three weeks to climb right into the thick of things? That's just depressing to even think about. It'd be depresing, but honestly, I think we can survive if we acquire a big bat.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) No thanks on Lee, we'd still have holes in our offense and then no prayer of extending Lee. I think Hudson can be a decent #5 starter. Exactly, I think Hudson will be fine as a #5. Honestly, I think the key is Garcia. If he can continue to pitch well, we'll be fine.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Handled it worse? Hes been completely silent, he met with the teams he was interested in and gave a definitive time for his decision. Seems pretty professional to me. Hes making a decision that could change the rest of his life and career. Maybe he is leaving Cleveland and he feels he owes them an answer. If he leaves Cleveland like this, I actually think it'd be a lot more disrespectful than it would be if he announces he's staying like this. As for handling it well, I thought early on he was handling it well, in fact I thought he was the only one that was. But to announce like this is garbage.
  5. Let's hope it wasn't as bad as it looked. Because if it was, it probably is a surgery type injury that affects us into next year.
  6. He couldn't have possibly handled this worse. And my question is this: is he doing this special because it'll make money for charity, or is he doing it to get himself more attention? If you can honestly answer the former, then ok. But you can't.
  7. I honestly think we still need a bat more even if Peavy is out for a while. Our pitching is that good and our hitting is that bad.
  8. What more could there be to it? Bosh won't go to Cleveland. I think he's just doing what he does best: being an attention whore.
  9. Regardless of what it is, that looked REALLY bad. Hopefully Hudson can do his thing.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Like I said, I would be content if he chose Cleveland. But this is just beyond ridiculous and pretty f***ing tacky. I'd rather Kobe and the Lakers win the next 5 titles than this clown sniff one. Agreed. He'll be my most hated man in sports as soon as he announces he's not coming here.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) I wonder if they're going to be multiple hats in front of him (ala when a top HS recruit chooses a college)? That would be the final straw for me. Either way, Lebron is going to be one hated mofo when this is all said and done. I bet he will. This is all an act so he can do the college recruiting thing he never got the chance to originally. And he was brilliant to make the proceeds go to charity since that means most won't rip on him. Well I will, he's still a dick, and when he picks the Cavaliers hat, i'll say it even moreso.
  12. Ozzie's kids certainly aren't the brightest group.
  13. Thomas Jefferson wasn't evil, he just liked black women. Allegedly.
  14. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) Major league 4 just may happen. If and when they do it, they are pretty much pretending like 3 never happened, and they are hoping to bring back the main core. How can you forget 3 happened? Nothing says Major League like the Buzz beating the Twins, Scott Bakula, and downtown Anderson. The good thing about a Major League 4 with the main core though is none of those guys are too old to be playing baseball nowadays.
  15. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:25 PM) Dude, stop hating. You heard ace, didn't you? Hawk himself said that it was one of the greatest plays you will ever see a right fielder make. And as you know I'm sure, Hawk has never been known to be hyperbolic before.
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Deng has a worse contract than Beasley and his potential isn't nearly as big. (though he is more of a proven commodity despite the injury issues and has better character) Noah trumps anything Miami can offer, but the Bulls won't do it. The above is why it's feasible Bosh ends up in Houston. And how can I know Lebron isn't coming, or the odds are low he is? I can't for sure, but it seems like pretty common sense if you read into everything that Cleveland is the favorite here.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Why do people say this? YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. The best possible scenario involves LeBron in Chicago, and until he has another cap on you and everyone else are just talking out of your asses. The odds of him coming here are not high, even you have to admit that.
  18. The Bulls best case scenario really is Bosh to anywhere but Miami. Ideally here though.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) Any play made in the first 4 innings yesterday was sensational, as that sun was BRUTAL! Yeah, 6:05 games this time of year are just not a good idea, I forgot to mention that point as well.
  20. Kind of glad Holland will win. I don't buy the idea of Uruguay "cheating" in how they beat Ghana, but it still felt kind of dirty. Plus, Holland vs. Germany or Spain will be a great matchup IMO.
  21. I think saving the two extra million might mean the Bulls would have room for 2 full boats if they traded Gibson and Johnson for Bosh. Or even Noah and somebody for Bosh.
  22. Would the Bulls make that move if they were expecting to whiff on the relevant 3?
  23. Haha Jermaine was the master at the easy catch that looked hard, particularly his last two years here. Hawk would always go absolutely postal when he did it too.
  24. He took a bad angle to the ball, but it was a frozen rope basically right over his head on a night in which the wind was howling. I tend to side with the great play side of it moreso than the bad angle one.
  25. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Probably both. This is simultaneously the most intelligent and most negative fan board I've been to. Love it! There are just a billion reasons to worry about everything in baseball, and I think we make a pretty exhaustive analysis of the team, so we're neurotically worried all the time. What's not to love about that? So true on all counts. Posters here just won't tolerate you if you're not knowledgable, it's a great checks and balances system in that regard.
