  1. Dan Clark has been throttled by Nightengale's latest article so that works for me on a micro level for today.
  2. The things i like from all the events of today are this David Vassegh guy seems (1) respected generally (2) not really a fan of getting into the limelight on this
  3. I'm standing up but have been drinking for awhile. I may be leaning.
  4. It's funny, sox fans are shitting all over Levine but he is likely carrying out exactly the picture Chicago wants him to carry out publicly
  5. I'm hearing from a Dodgers' sort-of-fan right now that Dave Vassegh had Kemp to Reds early
  6. Offseason should still be fun even with the frustrating tweets. The tweets are all part of the game. Both sides are playing it. If we miss out on both marquee guys, we still have a fantastic farm system and tons of payroll freedom. 2020, either way, will be a win-now type situation and it'll be poised for consistent improvement..not a standalone win-now year
  7. If i can say one thing for Bruce's suggestion here, it's that our strength may lie in yearly $ amount we can offer over other teams. Total # years you could see jerry being tighter on if there is indeed an area he would be tighter on than others, lets say. But in addition to all that, Bruce is ripe for the planting of info, 24 / 7
  8. The way the rumors have been coming through the usual rumor-guy-outlets on Twitter/media.... it seems to have a bent towards egging NY and LA to get more involved in things. Things like *both* free agents disliking the idea of living in Philadelphia... stuff like that. Manufactured.
  9. Joel Sherman‏Verified account @Joelsherman1 47s47 seconds ago More #Dodgers posture with Harper has been willing to do shorter deal (4/5 years) with large AAV, but do not want to tie up long-term $. Not sure they will come off of that posture even with this trade.
  10. Prefer Narv or even Kevan S. but nonetheless, this is fine based on what our planning seems to be pointing towards
  11. From my friend who has worked at the stadium (albeit a long time ago): Ron Kittle will run his mouth wildly and exaggerate freely. So (and this next line is purely speculation): Peavy44-story may well be accurate even if the actual rumor itself is not fact
  12. Timmy has replicated his rookie year, but with better defense and just less luck with the balls in play. It appears this is who he is, and the tragic events on his mind impacted that 2nd year greatly. He may be Alexei
  13. Chuck Garfien‏Verified account @ChuckGarfien 2m2 minutes ago More White Sox are cautiously optimistic about Dane Dunning‘s elbow. He’s having an MRI tomorrow.
  14. Last year Davidson's per-500-PAs walks pace was 21. This year it is currently 86.
  15. Yolmer is the rare (to this point) entirely-Sox-developed farmhand position player success story
  16. Does anyone have the story as to why Marquette King is a sox fan? He doesnt seem to be from Chicagoland, just from a quick glance at his bio https://twitter.com/MarquetteKing/status/978997893297156097 Marquette King ? 17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 07:52 PM) Game three and we have doomsday already? What?€™s with this stuff about trading Abreu and Garcia? Now if you question Farquar that?€™s fine When games go south, we'll see talk about trading those two. But it doesnt really matter what is happening in any particular game. If you believe in a pure rebuild, you trade them at maximum value, and if you don't, you probably want to keep holding onto them
  18. I officially like him more than Bill Wennington
  19. QUOTE (SoxFaninSpringfield @ Feb 23, 2018 -> 10:33 AM) This is a bad idea. Flipping him at the deadline for a low tier prospect is not worth getting more at bats from the contingent of prospects we have at the DH/OF spot. It makes me wonder if an agent is pushing Heyman to write articles in order to drum up compensation for said agent's client. young DH development is something i'm gonna sacrifice. Nicky is the only one you want securing at-bats, and he has a little positional versatility...so that's going to work out ok. Davidson is far from needing to be any kind of every day player for me. We know what he is.
  20. It would be a win-later move to act now and get a multiyear deal done for someone at low prices in later years of the deal. Provided the guy is not old. Moustakas may not be that guy though. I dont know that anyone who's left is.
