2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Quintessential for a catch all: Is Wise even fast anymore? I havent really taken notice. He's never been much of a basestealer at MLB it seems. If he's not, then that eliminates the one of the only two reasons (besides leftiness) to keep him here over BA.

Freddy Garcia
we wouldnt be bidding anywhere near those that really want/need him

TCSN: Orioles Interested in Uribe; News on Danks
not only am i starting to want Uribe here, but i'd like his role expanded .... to backing up 3B I am not a fan of Pablo being counted on for defense. If anything, I wouldnt mind moving Pablo for a speed guy (I dont believe in keeping around Wise&Anderson). Unless it's determined that Uribe cannot handle 3B.

TCSN: Orioles Interested in Uribe; News on Danks
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) Would Melvin Mora be someone the Sox might be interested in? IIRC he can play multiple infield positions, has much more pop in his bat than Ozuna, can handle 3rd base better than Ozuna. Unless i'm sure i want the "play now" guy actually playing, lets just move Uribe to get some kind of reupping of the crappy farm system. But it needs to be a meaningful prospect, or else just keep him. After all, Uribe has been our best pinch hitter, and of course the defense.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Sowers won't be long for this game tonight. Since he's been here, Thome has been the king of hitting bad pitchers. Nonetheless, you need a guy like that to get you through the year, and if another franchise is paying that guy, even better.

Is Thome hitting more HRs off lefties at a faster pace than ever before in his career? Just wondering if a thread has already existed saying that info

it's so much more fun when they show the fan hanging his head and/or being led away. they are really letting him off easy here (TV wise)

Alexei: 2B or SS
at OC's age and production level, it wouldnt be long term demands or crazy money. He's been so solid that i hate to close the door on that possibility. i have seen only a little of Alexei at ss, but the little i saw involved a wild throw. he just seems so good at 2b that i hate to take a chance. My end goal for this year is to see more of Alexei at ss in blowouts (us winning)... and also to have an idea of where Richar's at (which i know is going to be tougher) if Crede and Cabrera both leave, we need to put that savings to some serious, serious use.

Cubs @ Sox - Game 3, 7:05 PM, 06/29, ESPN
Didnt we have a problem around here with anti-islamic avs here kind of recently? neither side of town is perfect in that regard. there are asshat fans on both sides of town. by all means, live and die by this rivalry, but it's kind of embarassing to take it to asshat level. it ends up saying more about you than anything else.
