  1. CQ stared him down big time last time we saw Wilson
  2. Hawk cool down interval times in at a full five seconds
  3. After that dadgummet, Hawk needed a long pause for cool down time
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) Jim Thome, on Soxtalk, it wasn't so long ago he was talked about like Paulie is now. The one thing with Thome is you were stil getting the obp. now that i've typed this, of course he'll hon ron
  5. Man, Hawk is really laying it on thick with the missed balls and strikes calls this year. It happens. a lot - let it go.
  6. Paulie was more idiotic on that play than Juan EDIT: For some reason "half man, half pimp" is flat out hilarious
  7. QUOTE (rafacosta @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) Xei, Xei, Xei! Hmm ....... "The Xei Hey Kid"
  8. I wouldve liked to see how PK was received in the dugout after that do you just ignore a guy when he gets an RBI? shake his hand on a GIDP?
  9. We are really taking some cuts this inning. that last pitch and alexeis
  10. cant really assign blame on that one.bad luck. he looked back the exact instant it was in the glove
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 08:01 PM) It's been too long since Jim or Paulie homered. i think i'll actually take The New Jim based on our lineup deficiencies
  12. This is late now, but man, if Paulie had been doubled up on that it woulda been hilarious
  13. buehrle isnt the greatest sox pitcher since i started watching in '87, but is the most entertaining
  14. Unlike past years, we just dont have the ammo to do much Time for healing in the farm system, not continued draining Now if we could somehow pull a lateral deal with a team that feels it needs to take away some of our recently sloppy bullpen arms...
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 05:18 PM) why would cubs fans be under sui watch, they've made their entire marketing scheme after being losers (but FUN LOSERS!!) to the real fans of that team, this doesnt matter that much. no matter how your franchise markets the team, you're going to live and die by the team if youre a diehard. if we're just comparing the diehards i know, i think the cubs diehards would fall harder. the buildup of this 100 Years thing can have a disastrous effect for them, too. Plus we already have one under the belt, and can always stick to "we got one first" and "NL pennant is easy to get" One Cubs fan i know is seriously pissed that the first championship in Chicago since all these years was on the southside, and the Cubs would have to win two to completely dislodge that feeling for him. That said, so many Cubs fans dont frame the chase as a historical battle at all. Many are still working on 'face the field of play.'
  16. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 08:07 PM) I love Joe and all he's contributed to this franchise...but's its time to move on. Pretty much the same feelings I have about Paulie too. I guess there is a comparison there In both cases, we have to move on because of price. If Paulie weren't here, I suppose we could just have Crede and Fields at the corners next yr, which would be better than what we're looking at (Fields/PK)
  17. Re: Cox Obviously it's not fun to defend him on something like that But with the way things ended with Thome... and then Konerko being what he is now Your best chance is betting on that bad throw. That way you take a chance and then have another shot at making something happen in the next at-bat. Obviously it played out badly, but that call allows you the most chances at getting a run across.
