With his motion and lack of deception, I just don't think he'll ever be a power pitcher and use his fb like that. His 96 doesn't look like a lot of other guy's 96. The key to everything he does is having good enough control of the curve to use it in all counts and to keep hitters honest.

I like his 4 seamer much better around 93-94 with the late movement. If he's ever going to miss a lot of bats, it's going to be with his offspeed stuff anyway.

That wasn't even close to a swing. Yoan might be too pretty for baseball. He's making all the umps jealous.

I like the Lucas that gets groundballs with the late movement on the 4 seamer. That Lucas can get some easy outs and relax a little.

That was a nasty slider... especially after the outside fb.

Moncada & Umpires
Honestly, this post kind of makes me hate baseball.

Moncada & Umpires
If people cared about what Guillen had to say, he'd be employed. He's not employed, right?

Moncada & Umpires
Triple post time: I've determined the Moncada trolls are just salty Chris Sale fans, which is understandable. One thing they've already accomplished is managing to be more annoying than Chris Sale, which is pretty hard to do. Well done, lads!

Beat me to it.

Moncada & Umpires
He's already "figured it out" enough to be a regular on a lot of teams. We're talking about him becoming elite and fulfilling his potential.

I agree with this. Everything about Yoan at the plate is pretty advanced, but it will have great returns if he clicks. I probably wouldn't mess with him at all. I don't care about the k's. Stay selective, pick your pitches and turn n burn when you get what you want. Don't worry about the k's. That will sort itself out as you get more familiar with the zone and the umps start giving you the benefit of the doubt.

People are still getting popped and the juicers will always be ahead of the testers. Players aren't brazenly taking Androl and Tren anymore, but they're still doing whatever they can. It's not just baseball though. PEDS are absolutely prevalent in every sport. The bar has been set and there's no turning back. I'd put my life savings on Altuve being juiced to the gills. There's not a doubt in my mind.

White Sox at Royals 7.15 game thread 1:10 first pitch
So it might be best to not jump to conclusions based on every hot or cold streak? Deal. You first.

Yoan with the .741 OPS now. Not bad for your 23 year old 2nd baseman who a lot of you guys spent the season dragging through the mud.

Jimenez could return Sunday
Semien was moved because the Sox chose Anderson, not because they couldn't find a position. Marcus Semien never spent a day in the A's farm system, as far as I know. Your definition of development is pretty disingenuous too. At least you're consistent.
-
Jimenez could return Sunday
None of those guys were "finished" elsewhere. I also literally just got done saying the development team sucks and you quoted me. You don't have to lie to prove it.
-
Jimenez could return Sunday
Yeah, it is silly. You certainly don't have to be disingenuous to knock the Sox farm. They suck. They have had some bright spots though. I'm pretty sure Carter, Young and Semien were all drafted in the late rounds, identified by scouts and developed by the coaches. It's not like they were can't miss draft picks.

Jimenez could return Sunday
We've also drafted and developed some guys that have had good careers with other teams ie Chris Carter, Chris Young, Semien, Phegley etc. I'm not defending the development team, but to say they've only produced Rowand is just wrong.

Jimenez could return Sunday
I never said I "hope" the team does anything. I think you're confused.
