  1. That was probably the most complete AB I've seen of his since the ASB.
  2. Great AB right there. Down 0-2. Spits on 2 straight sliders. Fights off a fb and crushes a change. Beautiful.
  3. He threw 116 a couple starts ago. Probably wasn't the best idea. Probably some dead arm right now.
  4. I'm a much bigger fan of SB's than most people these days, but man, I don't know if I like my $50M, oft injured lottery ticket stealing so many bases in games that don't matter.
  5. I'd like to see Anderson continue to develop his situational hitting. To me, he can be a prototypical 2 hole hitter, but he has to develop better bat control. I think he'll end up being a plus defensive SS, with some pop and good speed. .265-.280/25 out of a good defensive SS works for me. Do metrics value situational hitting at all?
  6. Why are we not supposed to like Coop? I haven't really heard an explanation for that one yet. Edit I don't mean you specifically. I meant that at the board.
  7. It's all about a mindset. I like rebuilds because I like to watch players grow. I just adjust my expectations and don't care about wins/losses anymore. Over the years I've also learned to not get emotionally invested in wins/losses. I never really get angry about losses anymore. I have enough patience to wait it out. 99 and 00 were probably my favorite years as a Sox fan... obviously aside from 05.
  8. I wonder if humanity as a whole will ever adjust to the Twitter Era of everyone trying to out shock one another in 160 characters, instant gratification and just constantly complaining about everything all the time.
  9. I'd hate to be in a fox hole with some of you guys.
  10. With the way Lopez pitched last night, it was one of my favorite games of the year.
  11. That Stanton AB was what you want out of Giolito - use your curve and change to set up the fb and actually challenge hitters with the fb and not nibble.
  12. Remember that time the Astros lost 100+ games 3 years in a row?
  13. Well, that was a nasty change followed by 2 nasty curveballs. Progress.
  14. I guess it's just me, but I'm not real big on playing GM on the board either. I just prefer to talk about what I'm seeing and why I think it's happening. I guess we all have our motivations for posting. Carry on.
  15. Is that what you've been getting at this whole time? Jesus man, you could have just said it and saved about 500 posts. I'm really happy we've made progress though.
  16. You realize we don't have any influence on the actual games, right? Like, what do you want people to say? I'll do my part. "Oh my God, the White Sox suck and Moncada looks real bad right now!" Better?
  17. I wouldn't consider the last 2 years the "post-steroid," that's for sure. There's so much juice running through baseball right now that I'm feeling the pump just watching games. But yeah, he sucks right now. He's got good stuff though.
  18. If you're judging the quality of "stuff" by metrics, and not with your eye, you're already behind. You only like pitchers that throw 98+ and he doesn't.
  19. Nah. He's got good stuff when he's throwing the ball and not trying to aim the ball. Stuff isn't his problem. It's all in his head.
  20. 3-0 green light and Stanton is late on a fb right down the middle. I have no idea how that happens.
  21. Giolito doesn't believe in his stuff. He's scared to challenge hitters.
  22. I've noticed he keeps his head on the ball really well, even when hes got 2 strikes. That leads me to believe he's got no problems actually seeing the ball well. I want to start paying more attention to his his load and how he shifts weight with 2 strikes. I wonder if he can't fight pitches off because he's not adjusting his load at all to protect the plate.
