It's pretty foolish of you to even entertain this guy. You really think you're going to come to any sort of agreement? He's going to continue to troll you and you're buying right into it.

Jake Burger - freak accident Luis Robert - hurts hand sliding Michael Kopech - power pitcher that needs TJS These are clearly about "conditioning."
-
I would have banned Tom Party a long time ago. He's clearly trolling. His whole persona is about incitement. Not my board though.

I never said deadlifts were "unsafe," however the likelihood of injury deadlifting is higher than pretty much any other movement. My background is just as a hobbyist in powerlifting. A moderately strong deadlift is moving 3x your weight, so the margin for error is really small. He's actually doing rack pulls in that picture, but it's pretty much the same movement. I'm guessing he's doing them with a hexbar because it's really easy to tear your bicep with an over/under grip, which he would most likely need to use when moving that much weight.
-
No it's not. Deadlifting is really tough on your biceps and back. People tear biceps every day deadlifting. As I said, it's not related, but I wouldn't let my stud prospect deadlift.
-
Hey Tom "Party."
-
The Sox also might want to tell their stud pitching prospects that this is a bad idea. It's most likely not related, but if there's one thing about powerlifters, it's that they're always injured.

The fascination with velocity and K's will even out. Baseball has a way of evening itself out. The game hasn't changed all that much with the exception of spikes during certain eras.
-
Only 2 posters are freaking out and those guys freak out about pretty much everything.
-
I kind of expect this with all power pitchers, so it's good that's happening now, before we're close to contending.
-
I missed these uniforms. ?
-
You're being really dramatic.
-
Wtf? Hahahaha. You can't be serious.
-
Depends on your agenda.
-
Sure. I'd love to see him hit 350 with 35 homers too. Unfortunately this isn't a video game.
-
I also don't think Anderson is close to being maxed out. He's incredibly gifted physically.

One of the biggest problems with being hyperfocused on WAR is that teams aren't built in a vacuum. If my 2nd baseman is an OBP machine, I'm more than a happy with a slick fielding SS with good speed and power. There's too much focus on individual players and not enough on how they fit with the team. This isn't fantasy baseball. Not every player has to be prototypical.

I don't really care if the PC police take issue with me thinking you're an idiot. -

I just hope he shuts up, doesn't pop for the juice and wins ball games. I tend to assume most athletes are idiots. It's not lost on me that generalizing athletes makes me just as guilty. -

Haha. Nobody knows if it's a slider or a curve. Everything I've seen just says "breaking ball." -

Screw the FB. I'm trying to think of the last time I saw a RH change like that. -

Who's seen him pitch a lot? I'm curious about his consistency with the change. Can he repeat it? Man, that's just a gnarly pitch.
