  1. we have 3 guys in lineup with a slug over 400. We have 2 guys in the lineup with a slug below 300. Let me repeat that: we have 3 guys in the lineup with a slugging percentage over 400. We have 2 guys in the lineup with a slugging percentage below 300.
  2. It's amazing how you can field an offense this bad year after year, even on accident.
  3. John has such a hard team even doing the reads. As I've said it's amazing a guy that literally gets paid to talk is so damn bad at it. He's bad at small talk. He's bad at baseball talk. He's just bad.
  4. It's funny by this time next month Tauchmann will be lucky to have an OPS over 720. We run these over the hill guys into the ground.
  5. TBF part of the reason I jumped on it is because of Hahn's BS for years. Dude was a silver tongued snake.
  6. Laughs in GarPax.
  7. 5 people upvoted a post here that implies that it's important to fluff your players in the media because it raises their trade value. Some people prefer to live in a fantasy land I guess. Here in the real world a GM blowing smoke about a player's value hasn't ever made one single fucking amount of positive difference.
  8. There's a grand canyon between what he said and what you said. He's been barely above replacement level going on two straight seasons. You can't blame health as he's been (for him) relatively healthy the last two seasons. There isn't a single person working in MLB that will move their opinion one iota on Robert after hearing his GM say he's a game changing player. Not a single one. So who is the audience for those comments? Robert himself? That's the charitable view.
  9. He's right, if you want a guy that can kill a rally with an awful AB in a key inning he's your guy. Just stop blowing smoke up our asses, please. We all know his value is at best a B- type headliner at this point and maybe a lotto ticket or two -- at best.
  10. def, if I'm going to eat 1500 calories of junk, gimme that reuben every time.
  11. Someone please rid us of this meddlesome priest (capra).
  12. Back when I was a wee lad of 21 or so back in 2005 there was this place and WSI. WSI rejected almost all sabermetrics and seemed rather stuffy in general. This place was more accepting of new stats and philosophies so I joined up here. Not sure I ever posted on WSI, lurking was enough. Crazy that I have accounts in various places for bulls, sox and UM football for going on 20 years now. Literally went from a kid to a middle aged person on them.
  13. It's too bad we are spending ZERO money because if you offered him like 1 +player option at 8 and 12 million it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. Dude isn't great, but he's a perfectly cromulent 5th starter. Obviously there's the downside risk but the sox piss away 8 million on three different below replacement guys every offseason regardless. I'd rather take a small gamble on a flip candidate that would also provide some watchable games once and awhile.
  14. He's useful in a package with Robert. Some team would get a plug and play 5th starter and if nothing else an elite defensive OF that seems rather healthy. But he doesn't have much value. We'll be lucky to get a nice lotto ticket back like we traded away in that deal for whatshisname.
  15. We punted this game, team knows it. Probably a long night out on the town last night for some of these guys too.
  16. some decent talent behind home plate in Toronto.
