  1. Go look the Box Score. Not a single OBP below .300 and many above .340. Cannot remember the last time I saw that on a White Sox boxscore, early mid May or otherwise.
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 11, 2016 -> 04:15 PM) What a s***ty series. So many blown leads and dumb plays. Glad we are done facing Texas and we stole a game from them. stole a game? they gave away two.
  3. Austin Jackson seems to come up with runners on an awful lot.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 11, 2016 -> 03:30 PM) So who was going to pitch the other inning then? There were 4 innings left and you only named 3 pitchers. Pen could really use a guy that can go two inning high leverage on occasion. Was really hoping it would be Jones.
  5. Obviously it was a confluence of factors that led to blowing the lead but trying to "steal" an inning with Carroll was the 1st action that set the whole chain of events in order. I didn't know that Petricka was on the DL prior to the game but that said I still feel that RV was managing like he was playing the Twins or even the Royals instead of a really quick hitting offense like Texas. Carroll should have been on the shortest of f***ing leashes and in retrospect Albers was rushed into the game. RV just seems to be on "cruise control" at times. Not sure if that's because he puts so much trust (and authority) into cooper or what but he should have been much quicker to act last night imo. That said, Carroll and Sands have no place on a MLB roster. Carroll had zero command last night and was just hanging meatball after meatball over the zone when he was getting it over.
  6. Wtf when did he go on the dl? That makes more sense to me then. I will say then that the team put rv in a bad spot. Carroll never should have been the guy called up. Longman is not needed in todays mlb. I was out hiking all day yesterday was he put on the dl prior to the game?
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ May 11, 2016 -> 10:29 AM) That albers looked so bad should let you know why Robin's instinct was to let Carroll pitch a whole inning. The pen was gassed. ALl of our guys look tired. That carroll is our best "longman" option is scary, as we've always had a plethora of AAAA pitchers that can come up in a pinch and be okay in that scenario. Carroll clearly has lost his. There was no need for a longman with six outs left.
  8. Where the hell were petricka and putnam? Your mopup man is not the guy you EVER want starting the 8th up five runs. He should only be used to mop up early in games where the starter s*** the bed. Awful managing.
  9. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ May 11, 2016 -> 12:36 AM) Don't blame rv. That's trolling. Lol. Letting carroll do what he did in this park? Hardly trolling to call that playing with matches. Look what happened.
  10. f***ing rv had no business treating this game so casually.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 11, 2016 -> 12:11 AM) I thought teams don't get challenges after the 7th... Umpires must have thought it was close enough to review. you can request a review and 90% of the time they will review it.
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:57 PM) Are you sure you pay attention to the Sox ? Check the bullpen usage in the last 2 box scores , especially last nights extra inning game eh, not saying it was the right move but the bullpen isn't so taxed that you have to go to the long man in the 7th with two outs. That said, they have a four run lead and Scott got the out, so good job I guess.
  13. he's cruising now, hopefully he comes out of this with some confidence.
  14. all things considered not an awful start under the circumstances.
