  1. lol at hawk, he can't even let him talk for 5 seconds.
  2. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) Sox win tomorrow, I believe that will be 3 straight series wins, with the last 2 series being won after losing game 1. Kind of a nice surprise. Pitching has been great so far.
  3. Good move by Renteria.
  4. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 07:39 PM) He definitely belongs on the field ahead of May. indeed.
  5. Leury Garcia is impressing me. Never rated him at all, but he's showing some stuff.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 07:19 PM) Looks to me that he's someone who needs time in AAA Eh he's already hit 300 down there, at this point if he's going to develop it will be in MLB, he's still young. And his defense for the most part has been good.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 07:13 PM) Anderson is clueless his game his hitting fastballs hard and if he can't do that he's got nothing.
  8. Already two strikeouts for Severino.
  9. f*** Schwarber why not Trout?
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 04:47 PM) "Slugger" haha yea that article was a little too optimistic. He's off to a hot start, but he's got a lot of work still to do.
  11. SI piece: https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/04/18/avisail-g...icago-white-sox
  12. Well, it took me a couple weeks, but think I'll turn this one off. Offense and defense have me frustrated.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) This is an embarrassment of an inning for Hawk. Really tired of this crap, it's his like fourth game and he sounds bitter and tired Yup, it's pathetic. If you don't want to call the game, RETIRE.
  14. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) May has to feel so awful. It's like clock work... either a lazy pop fly to center or a weak ground out to 2nd he's on the only team in MLB that would give him a roster spot, let a lone a starting gig, so I'm sure he's fine.
  15. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:40 PM) May mis-read that ball... First step was in. Ball ended up hitting the warning track. Tell me again how his sole purpose for being here is defense. They teach you in High school that on fly balls your first step is always back. He had no chance either way but FWIW I saw the same thing in spring. He's fast, he's not especially instinctual.
  16. Yankees broadcast is really bad. Switching to Sox next inning.
  17. QUOTE (harkness @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:25 PM) He batted .229 with 3 hr and 13 RBI last April... and not much better in May. He has left a lot of easy RBI out there. He needs to do his job.. right now he isn't contributing on offense and is a liability on defense. I continue to believe he's about 2-3 years older than listed.
  18. that was a meatball. Slow bat early for TA.
  19. Sally is the 3B of the next 5 year IMO.
  20. Tyler is a nice player but worrying about a too crowded IF is just worrying to worry. If the Sox have too many good starting IF then that's a good f***ing problem to have and you don't ask Moncada to move off 2B for some future hypothetical that isn't even a big problem if it happens. If Davidson is actually legit then you move him to 1B, you move Jose to DH and you put Tyler at 3B. That also assumes that Tyler is a worthy starter. A lot of assuming. And hey, if it all these guys turn into solid regulars as mentioned that's a great "problem" to solve.
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) Saladino's play dictating where Moncada plays? Holy s***. This crazy talk won't die down.
  22. He looks good and he looks healthy. Positive vibes so far from pretty much the entire pitching staff other than Q.
  23. As mentioned, the velocity is there, just seems to have had some command issues early on, which as we know for Q can jump up and bite him on occasion. If he was forth 5 rupies in the offseason maybe he's worth 4.5 rupies now after the slow start. But if he gets hot he'll be right back at 5 and or even more depending on how it shakes down in mid-summer. Just stay healthy, that is the critical thing.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 05:44 PM) Puig this year would be another example of bat speed returning at a much lighter weight. I think for some guys they just play better a lighter weight. Some guys play better bulkier. Just gotta find what works the best for each guy. The Sox have a great training staff I'd be curious if they had any input on his decision to lose some weight (including muscle) this offseason.
