  1. bases loaded for eaton beckham lucky to walk after fouling off two absolute meatballs. streete has nothing today.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) Might as well go for a hybrid of Soler Puig Cespedes ... come on he's got a little Ruth in him too.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) Goodbye Blown Savery. Seems more sour than savery.
  4. lol hawkins guessing first ball fastball -- misses the curve by a mile. not a good AB for hawkins as he swings at a curve a foot outside for a K. oh well.
  5. and another good piece of hitting by Sanchez with two strikes. Hanging curve laced into CF. His curve sucks maybe that's why he didn't throw it to Trayce.
  6. nice piece of hitting from Thompson with 2 strikes. That said, WTF compells you to throw a fastball over the plate on 0-2 to a minor leaguer? Jeez dude, spin it in the dirt, see what happens.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 06:16 PM) Not to mention Danish, Rodon and Montas getting valuable experience. Lots of positives. Yup. Knock on wood they will get through with Sale's injury being the only real downer.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 06:09 PM) Johnson, Saladino and The Hawk tearing it up. Trayce has looked great defensively, and Nieto is essentially a bonus farm piece with potential. from a "young guys you'd like to see do well" perspective it's been a pretty promising start to spring.
  9. Hawkins showing nice plate coverage. Crushed an outside fastball into the RF gap for an RBI double.
  10. Seems like some massive crowds down in AZ this spring. Park looks 3/4 full.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) They need a 5th starter on the 11th or 12th. If Sale is ready by the 12th, then the opening day starter can go on 11th with regular rest. I just think when it's all said and done, they'll stay on the cautious side and push Sale back after Cleveland. They'd still get 31 starts out of him if he stays off the DL after this. Could be, I'm just happy that at most it's looking like he misses 2 starts.
  12. good reverse jinx will have to try that in the regular season. Nice pivot from Micah and a nice stretch from LaRoche. Not sure Jose gets that one.
  13. looks like cleto is in midseason form.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) Just a gut feeling, but I think Penny has a good shot at the start on April 11, with the opening day starter on the 12th...and they push back Sale's first start to the 17th or 18th in Detroit. Penny may be a decent long reliever if he's willing to do it. Why would they do that? They don't even need a 5th starter until the middle of April with all the off days. I'd rather throw Noesi and Danks out there than Penny. Penny however could have a very useful roll as the swing man.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 04:47 PM) It would be Bonifacio in CF then. Ah yea forgot about Boni as a CF. That would be OK. That RBI single from Micah was pretty impressive. Kept his hands back nicely after being fooled initially and took it right into left sharply.
  16. in case you guys missed it there's an update on Sale's status and it's a good one. He's already thrown off a mound and is on track to make the April 12th start it seems.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) One of the biggest weaknesses on this roster right now is 4th outfielder. I'm not confident Schuck is a great fit. Yea it would be nice to have a defensive minded 4th OF that can play a solid CF. Schuck isn't capable of playing CF as anything other than an emergency option. If Eaton goes down for a month they probably have to switch Melky over to CF and that messes everything up. Trayce has a hot spring and carries it over to Charlotte he might see himself up in June.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) Atta boy, Trayce....took out a runner with a great throw home from CF. It would be nice if he had a good year and at least is a useful, cheap 4th OF for a few years. With his brother's success hopefully it rubs off in some increased confidence.

  20. He's been throwing long toss and even pitched some off the mound yesterday: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0314-story.html Sounds like he's on track to make the April 12th start. Good news all around.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 07:03 PM) it is a said commentary when fans are just desperately looking for any small thing to say, you see, he can still contribute. fyi i was a beckham fan in the beginning of his career. too bad i feel for him. you feel for Gordo? If anything, he's lucky he was wrongly IDed as a 1st round talent, otherwise he'd probably have been given far fewer chances. Don't feel bad for the guy he's already made quite a bit of money and he has a lifetime gig in the White Sox' org if he wants it.
