  1. I'd rather see Cleto.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) Putnam can shove it down my throat and make me eat my words. I am on the record here as saying his fastball just ain't good enough. I'm with ya! This is a dumb move.
  3. ok going on record this is the wrong move.
  4. great f***ing job between avi and eaton for guys that have played together a handful of times in their career.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 10:07 PM) I think Robin is regarded as a very smart person. well there's ball player smart and real world smart. Low bar.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 10:00 PM) I do like that Guerra is still in there. Good move. agree. For once his "gut feeling" is actually a good one. Guerra has good stuff lately (and, CONTROL, imagine that!) might as well try him out here. edit: of course that was the kiss of death
  7. QUOTE (1dog @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 10:00 PM) It's the bullpen's fault. He has no options.....oh..... Sometimes, as Ozzie nicely put it, "you give a guy enough rope to hang himself".
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 09:54 PM) Hand to the forehead. Pure Robin moment. Will anyone defend that stupidity?
  9. I don't see any reason Conor can't maintain a high BABIP, around 320-340, for his remaining prime. His bat speed will leave him sometime around 30 but until then I think he's going to hit for a high average. LOL Robin, are you pressing buttons on the PS4? Hit and run with Conor and FLowers with no out, lol.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) That was a vintage Frank Thomas swing. Shoulders in, ass out. It's funny you mention it. He's hitting like 340/430/550 since June. He's basically turned into Frank Thomas. I'm cool with that.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 08:20 PM) I think the experiment with the glasses may be over or he needs to clean the lenses Next up, hearing aid.
  12. Tyler Flowers reminds me of myself at the batting cages when the speed is turned up to ultra. He's starting his swing so freaking early. Except every pitch doesn't come at the same speed.
  13. Hawk is blown away by viral marketing. Goodness the world has passed him by.
  14. Wow, nice Take Avi. Way to show Viciedo how the f*** it's done.
  15. That was a nasty slider, goodness.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) Some very awkward swings by Avi Yea, but in his defense it's basically his spring training again. No amount of rehab or AAA was going to change the fact that it's better to get this rust shaken off now then next April. That's the big positive.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) The ability to hit pitchers pitches makes Abreu so special. All Hahn has to do is find another couple 6 WAR players and we'll be golden.
  18. This is pretty much best case scenario unfolding. The Sox aren't losing because of any of the core players but because of scrubs they are going to have to replace anyways.
  19. Root for the following: Dunn (so someone will pickup his remaining salary) Sanchez Sale Q Hector Avi Adam Viciedo (SHOW SOMETHING) Jose Moises Conor Losses because of guys that won't be around much longer YMMV on who is and who isn't important long term but I'm not rooting particularly hard for Carroll or Konerko or Lindstrom or even Viciedo.
  20. what a f***ing joke
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 11:23 PM) That's kind of what I meant by "more consistent hitter". Danks is fairly consistently below average while De Aza is either hitting .025 for the month or .375 for the month. If you want to play fun with selective endpoints look at Jordan's splits by month: http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?p...amp;season=2014 He vacillates between .98 and .289. It's a silly argument for any player let alone Jordan.
  22. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 11:20 PM) What the problem is? Well he's only like one of the team's best hitters against RHP he should have PH for Kong, no question's asked, it's like 300 points of OPS in Dunn's favor.
  23. Apparently Robin is saving Dunn for when it really matters... sigh.
  24. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 11:09 PM) Yes, but as a 4th OF, not a starter. We're not that crazy. It's basically because he makes less money, is a more consistent hitter, and a much better fielder. Well yea I agree. As a 4th OF I'd take Danks just because he's going to cost about 1/4 of De Aza and he can play CF. But I'm not entirely convinced a better LF than De Aza is needed next year. Team has bigger holes IMO.
  25. jesus christ does Robin know that Dunn is on the bench?
